Live Laugh Love

Hi bloggers!  I started by using some Polar White sparkle texture paste through the Crisscross mask and allowing it to dry thoroughly.  I matted it with a pale silver and a darker silver card.  Next I cut three of the Lattice and Lace Striplets in white.  I cut a pale silver backing and two dark silver backings and attached them to the three striplets.  Next I cut the pale silver striplet down the centre and added half to both of the dark silver striplets so there was both colours in each striplet.  I added mounting foam and placed them on the edges of my textured background.  Using the Classic Adorned Design Noble, I cut it in pale silver and backed it in white card, then cut the centre out to create a frame.  I stamped my sentiment then attached the frame over the top and trimmed away the excess card.  I seated it on my card in between the borders.  Using the Perfect Peonies, I created a few flowers and added them as accents around the sentiment.  I completed the card with a pierced white mat, a pale silver and dark silver mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
Morning everyone. What a pretty card today, Sue. It's really brightened up another dull and dismal day...why am I moaning, at least the rain and wind seem to have taken the day off and I live on top of a hill overlooking Truro town so would miss any floods if they happened (except my neighbour joked we would most likely slip down the hill lol). It's winter so I shouldn't expect nice weather should I, although I have to say my ideal winter day would be either frost or a nice layer of snow, with a clear blue sky and sunshine. I don't mind the cold but I swear that since I've moved down to Cornwall, I've started to get rusty :).
Pam: the turkey leg was delish, I really enjoyed it...although I've told myself that next Christmas it's either going to be fish & chips or a Chinese for lunch as it all seems too much effort for one person (although the dog really seemed to enjoy the sprouts, with no gas issues after so we were both happy).
My New Year resolution has to be to try and get some striplet dies as you are constantly showing just how versatile they are, Sue. I'm ashamed to say that I don't have a single one in my die collection. I do have a couple on my Amazon wish list though, so I've got that far at least lol.
Happy Bank Holiday Monday everyone!

Stunning card today Sue, I must get some texture paste. I am trying to work out how to spend my Christmas money, it's a lovely dilemma to have :)
Today it has all caught up with me and I am exhausted but I must say it has been a lovely Christmas apart from missing my Dad who has been gone nearly two years now. Having so much family around has been wonderful and of course having to be tee total meant I was compos mentis so the work wasn't difficult. I was doing really well on not having loads of leftovers to throw away as I made soup, two pies and have dinner prepared for today. Then hubby went to get some bread and came back with "bargains", alas there is no way we can use it all before it goes off so that made me a bit cross.
Laine, it is so lovely to hear from you xxx
Jan from long island, so sorry to hear you have been so poorly, huggles.
Bejay, glad you enjoyed your turkey dinner and that there were no ill effects on the dog :)
I will say bye for today.
Wishing good things to all xxx

Lovely card as always, think I might give it a try but would cut the backgrounds in half before putting the striplets on them. Just whizzed back through all the cards I have missed over Christmas and they are all fantastic, will have to capture them for some inspiration for next years cards. Looking forward to catching as many shows as I can, start back working on Saturday, am having my once a year week off from teaching, but still have plenty of mucking out etc to do! Hope everyone had a good Christmas and stayed as well as could be.

Hi Sue, a pretty card and I love the two-tone silver. This is one of the few striplets that I don't have but I made a card yesterday with the Butterflies in Flight and am really pleased with it. Tomorrow I may try something similar to today's card but with the Ornate Octagon - I'll let you know if it works :)

Jan from Long Island - sorry you have been under the weather with double pneumonia (I know this is no fun as my husband has previously been hospitalised with it) but glad to hear you are now feeling better - as long as the festivities have not worn you out!

Tracy - don't force yourself, you will make something beautiful with your new dies when you are ready and not before so don't worry, just concentrate on getting better.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew,

What an absolute treat of a card, it incorporates my favourite technique of the moment...texture pasting anything that sits still long enough for me to take a plastic palette knife to it! I have collected a fair few masks now, including the criss crosses, which I used on a few of my ChristmAs cards as a background to the Noble frames- I bought six different colours to achieve varying results, the only problem is having the patience to wait overnight for it to dry though:-)
I really need to put my hand in my pocket again and buy the lattice and lace striplet die though so that I can recreate this stunning card- I haven't been able to splash out since November and unfortunately what with Christmas, the sales AND the impending Hogmany celebrations, my bank account is rather the worse for wear:-(. Sues shows in some senses have come at an Inopportune time, though in saying that, it won't in any way diminish my excitement at her appeArances....I'll just have to taper my spending accordingly for the time being.
We've had a quieter and drier couple of days which is a light relief let me tell you...I've been contemplating investing in a canoe rather than a new mobility scooter:-) My heart goes out to all the poor souls in Northern England who have bore the brunt though, let's hope we have seen the worst of it now and the clear up can begin in earnest.
It's been lovely to hear of your various Christmas celebrations, I had a quiet one by my standards mainly because my uncle was laid to rest on the 23rd and we had to travel home on Christmas Eve...not much time or inclination to have a big gathering. New Year will be a cheerier affair though, we are going to a party with my brother, his girlfriend and friends- my mum has bought a new dress and a bottle of gin to loosen her up....given her medication, there could be a medical intervention needed at some point, watch this space:-)
Jan, I'm so sorry to hear that you have been so poorly but thankfully you are now on the mend. I hope that you have more energy to enjoy the New Year celebrations, a few glasses of fizz can work wonders for the constitution I am led to believe :-)Take care honeyxxx
Yvonne, I see you had an unfortunate malfunction on Christmas Eve, you poor soul, but that good old Blitz spirit pulled you through...along with some kind hearted neighbours, that's what Christmas should be about! Are you still wading through those roast beef sandwiches? Every family has a Scrooge at Christmas I'm afraid, this year ours was me! My Mum offered me a gin drip to boost my morale but to no avail, nothing could salve the wounds inflicted by Santa when he failed to bring me Sues entire back catalogue...and I thought I'd been such a good girl this year, for a change! I'll just have to resort to plan B which entails bankrupting myself before Easter or robbing a bank! Hope your getting some much needed rest this week, your boys sound like gems though, you have them well trained:-)
Bear hugs to all my buddies, Beth, Maria, Wheely Bad, Rebecca, Theresa, Saba, Lorraine, Tracy, Melody and anyone in need of a cuddlexxx

Loads of love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue
What a stunning card. I so love the effect that is achieved by using texture paste. I even bought the polar white paste at Ally Pally but have yet to use it. I am sure I am not alone when I say I have so many things that I must put to good use before I purchase anything else. I think that 2016 should be the year when I stick to my annual resolution of having a proper sort out and actually use all those things in my stash which are as yet unopened.
Thank you so much for your continued inspiration and not taking any days off over the festive period even though you so deserve it. I hope you are managing to take it easy but can imagine that in Sue's world taking it easy is still a little hectic x
Was a little rough yesterday so missed commenting but yesterday's card is another beauty.
WHEELY BAD - wow it sounds like you have had a house full - rest up girl - you'll need to conserve your energy for our Sue on Hochanda x
Jan - so glad you are on the road to recovery - take it easy and try not to do too much too soon - sending you hugs x
Lorraine - what is it with men, shopping and bargains - they just cannot resist. Well done on staying sober, lol. Huggles x
Laine - so sorry to hear about your Uncle. It is always difficult when we lose loved ones but at this time of year it always seems more poignant. A funeral so close to Christmas is a real toughie. I hope you and your mum are able to remember the good times with fondness - lots of love to you both x
I am sure that you will well and truly make up for your subdued behaviour at the fast approaching New Year celebrations. Still got half a cow to wade our way through. Roast beef is becoming a little tedious now. Of course I have the boys well trained. When they settle down with some lucky young lady I want her to be eternally grateful to me that they do not have to begin from scratch with the breaking in process. Oh and you will be pleased to hear that it appears that Scrooge has gone for the time being x
Ok lovely bloggers - I'm off to sleep now - didn't realise that it was so late. Sending you all lots of love
Crafty hugs
Yvonne
