Joy

Hi bloggers!  How about this one for a rather non traditional Christmas card?  Rusty Hinge and Peacock Feathers (and gold).  Every once in a while, you just have to let go and get wild.  It may get a split decision on this one, but I loved the way it turned out!  Initially, I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the Holiday Magic embossibility.  I found this strip of decorative card in my scrap bin so I thought I would use it and build the rest of the card from there.  I cut a Holly Accent border in white and glued it to the strip.  I cut a Resplendent Rectangle  in white card as a backdrop for my focal element.  I stamped my swirly deer using a clear perfect medium pad and embossed it in gold.  I used an Antique Linen distress marker to add a bit of shadow to the image.  I cut it out with the smallest die in the Grand Large Labels set.  While it was still in the die, I inked the top portion with Rusty Hinge and the lower portion with Peacock Feathers distress ink.  I mounted it with foam so the decorative edge showed from underneath.  I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding and added it to the lower corner.  Using the Sun Kissed Poinsettia stamp by Heartfelt Creations, I stamped it on matching card with a clear perfect medium pad.  I heat embossed it with gold powder and cut it out with the coordinating die.  I put a couple of flowers together with the pieces and added them to the bow and card.  I finished the flowers with flatback pearls and Iced snow on the tips.  Finally, I finished the card with my usual double white pierced mat.  What do you think?  Finished dimensions are 8" x 8 1/4" in size.

Now for the winner of the first Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway.... the name drawn was :
Karen Lotty!!!
Congratulations!  Email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card. Another giveaway on Wednesday, don't forget!  All for now, Sue x

Joyful card, Sue, like the colours and design but (sorry to be picky) would have preferred no peacock and left it monochrome.
Didn't catch any show yesterday but hope to do better today!

Hi Sue
A really happy card! Love the reindeer stamps - it looks really playful. The colours somehow work but I'm still not sure that I would use them for Christmas though. Managed to watch your shows yesterday & loved all your demonstrations and samples. I always get a little frustrated though because the presenters just waffle on. I know they have to sell the products but I watched the last 20 minutes live of the show you did with Dave and for 15 minutes he just talked - you could have got another card started if not finished!!!!

Hi Sue. What a fantastic card !! It is beautiful. I love the little reindeer, he is so cute !! I did buy some stuff but not the multibuy stamp set. Now I wish I had done !! I love that you have used the holly border die. I bought these at the end of last year but have hardly used them yet. I love the layout of the card. The poinsettia's look lovely but I already have the spellbinder ones. I really love the colours you have used but for a christmas card I would probably use more traditional colours. (But that is just me.) I loved your shows yesterday and your samples and demos were just out of this world !! You are so clever and your cards are all so beautiful. You are such a pleasure to watch, unlike some of the c+c presenters. I wish they would just stop talking so much and let you get on with more demos. I cannot wait to see more of your shows today. I have so missed not seeing you on tv for such a long time. Good luck for today. Take care Sue. Lots of love Tres x x x
