Congratulations

Hi bloggers!  A girlie card in non girlie colours for today's card. I started with a piece of kraft card as my background.  I added a border band of Canvas Corp metallic striped gold/kraft card with a back mat layer.  I created a floral spray using the Vintage Floret dies.  I cut out an assortment of sizes from some newsprint card that I had in my stash. I stamped each of them with the coordinating Vintage Floret stamp using a black archival ink pad.  I used two to three varying sizes of each flower die to create each of the flowers and gave each of the pieces shape by rubbing them from the back with a rounded stylus tool.  I also rubbed the edges with a clear Perfect Medium pad and sprinkled gold embossing powder on them.  I heated it to melt it for an interesting gold edge to each flower.  I glued the flowers in place so they were cascading down the card.  I added some black rhinestone swirls across the card for accents.  I stamped my sentiment from Justrite on to kraft card and cut it out with the Fancy tag die. I lightly inked through the die with Black Soot distress ink.   I cut one more out of black card, cut it down the centre and attached it so that it looked like a shadow on the to and bottom of the sentiment.  I distressed the edges of the kraft card background with both my scissors and some Black Soot distress ink before adding a double pierced black mat.  I added some black tulle tucked under the largest flower edge to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

morning Sue
What a gift to start this Thursday morning - it may be a girlie card but not in colour but it certainly makes a statement.
I love kraft card in all its forms and using printed media is great fun. I find I read all that's on the printed card/paper as I use it and not only that when my Tuesday crafty friends use it we all read each other's paper and make up our own stories from them - great fun.
Off to visit the nearest craft shop to me here in Burgundy this morning so will have to take my bank manager with me!!!
