Happy Blog Birthday!

Good morning all!  Today is the four year anniversary of the start of my blog!  I am so excited to be able to bring you a very special giveaway today in honour of this anniversary.  If you leave me a comment on today's post, I will draw a name from the comments (to be announced on Monday) and the lucky winner will receive a  full set of the 18 Stamps To Die For Range.  These stamps are all ready trimmed and mounted on Umount, ready to go.  They were designed by myself and my artist to coordinate with all the lovely dies that I demonstrate.  Just my way of saying a big huge thank you to all of you that come to visit my little bit of cyberspace daily.  When I started the blog, I never thought I would ever see the sort of readership that it has reached, especially since I don't use Facebook or any other social media sites!  My counter at the very bottom of the blog is about to turn over to 3 million soon (should be sometime this week!)  It is because you take the time to visit regularly that I love doing my blog, so as long as you still want to visit, I will still post my daily blog posts!  Although today's card is a really simple style card, it happened to be the only one I could find with any birthday sentiment on it!  I just thought it was appropriate for the day and also because it is Julia Watts birthday today too (shh, don't tell anyone! tee hee)  There doesn't really need to be a full running commentary on the card today, as it is rather simple and self explanatory, but as a quick explanation, I used the Curved Border dies on a piece of raspberry card to cut the pretty scalloped edge, then I used my score board to add a bit of interest to the top of that piece, scoring at 1/8 inch increments.  I layered it over a piece of coconut white card where I had stamped my sentiment in black archival and clear embossed it.  I added a double bow tied from silky crush ribbon at the top of the card.  I accented it with a large pearl embellishment and some pearl swirls across the card.  Finished it with a double mat of white with some paper piercing on the inner mat.  About a 10 to 15 minute job if you need a quickie!  Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size.  One quick note, though, as I have had a bit of confusion of late, can you try to leave a surname initial or funny alias with your comment as we now have many people with the same names leaving comments.  It just helps keep it clear as to who has won the prizes (both for you and for me!).  Don't forget to leave your comment today to be entered in a chance to win the Stamps To Die For set of 18 stamps.

Many congratulations on your anniversary, four years is great and I still haven't got round to even starting one! Love the card, it is both simple but stylish and the colours look great.

Hi lovely Sue. Congratulations on particraftblogspot's birthday, I can't believe how long you've been doing it for. You are very dedicated to ensure there's a different card day in, day out! They are always different from one another too, not just using the same die but using different coloured card. You must really enjoy sharing. My favourites are when you score a stately circle and concertina it, my sister Rosalynn who was widowed with 4 very young children 10 years ago is getting married in September, so I'm going to make an all cream card using this technique,I would have never ever thought of doing such a thing. Thanks Sue, I check your blog every single morning but don't often have time to comment because I have to get girls ready for school then get myself to college, then I forget to do it, but I always look. Looking forward to seeing you back on the telly, Julia's been great I hope she had a fab birthday. Must stop waffling on, you can tell I haven't commented for a while. Thanks for sunshine Sue love Danella xxx
