A Waterfall Of Snowflakes

Hello my crafty friends!  I was having a play a couple of weeks ago, for no particular reason, and this is one of the cards that I came up with.  I started with a piece of white card that was 6" x 8" in size.  I covered the entire sheet with a piece of our sticky adhesive sheets.  I cut a bunch of strips of white card that were wider at one end and tapering down quite a bit thinner on the other end.  I just eyeballed them, rather than measuring them (too much fuss for me).  I peeled off the backing sheet and arranged my strips so they were all radiating from the same spot near the bottom right corner, leaving gaps between them.  In those gaps, I poured my micro beads on to fill in the spaces and give my background some texture and a slightly different shade to them too.  I stamped my sentiment with a clear perfect medium pad and embossed it with silver powder.  Using the snowflake pendant die, I offset the sentiment in the die and cut it.  I used Tumbled glass to ink through the die, keeping it heaviest on the sentiment side of the die.  I mounted it on foam pieces in the upper corner.  I picked a selection of other small snowflakes and cut them either out of white card or white glitter card for a bit of glitz.  I arranged them on the card in a sort of waterfall form coming off of my main snowflake.  I added some pearls to the centres (natural coloured even though they look a little bit silver in the pic).  I pierced the edges of the card to finish off my card.  A little bit different, but I like the way it turned out myself.
I am hoping to interject a few more never before seen cards in my blog in the next several weeks.  My next show dates are not until August 24th and I have to keep those cards a secret until closer to the time.  I am heading over to CHA (Craft and Hobby Association trade show) in mid July so I will take loads of piccies of that for you.  I have been invited again to the before show hours special event by Ranger where Tim Holtz and their other designers do demos and introduce their new products.  I am very excited about that and promise to post pictures for you.   All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue, Lovely card, love the way you have done the stripey effect, don't know how you did that, don't think I could !!!! it looks brilliant. Love how you have the small snowflakes falling off the larger snowflake, beautiful. I, personally, think it lacks something, maybe a 'bow' ha ha. Beautiful card. Lots of love from Patricia xx

Snowflakes, microbeads, radiating stripes, a little shading, a sweet sentiment, paper piercing, pearly bling -- it's got everything but a bow, which would have been too much and would have hidden all the lovely elements. Perfection, I'd say. Enjoy CHA. I hope their air conditioning works!
