Is Green Okay?

Morning all!  Sometimes when I look back on the pictures of some of the cards that I have made, I do have to laugh at the inspiration behind them sometimes.  This one was simply because I had never used this green and white striped grosgrain ribbon and I wanted to.  I did not have a single piece of green card that matched it so I thought, I'll go all white with just a pop of the green from the ribbon.  I will admit to really loving green and virtually all shades of it too.  I know it is not a really popular colour and I always get comments that it isn't your favourite (with the exception of teal green), but I would love you to give it another chance and see if it makes you sing like it does me.  Maybe just a little green is okay, what do you think?  I started this card by stamping my sentiment in the corner then embossing the top of  the white background with the Elegance embossibility folder.  I used the Cosmic Shimmer pearl PVA glue to add dots to all the circles and flower centres on the background.   After it was dry, I wrapped a piece of the ribbon around the card and taped it to the back.  I pinched it a bit and added a glue dot to keep it that way until I added my bow on top (this is a cheat, but it saves ribbon)  I tied a double bow and attached it with a sticky glue dot.  I added two decorative stick pins to the knot and topped my bow with a pearl embellishment.  (It slipped a bit and I didn't notice when I took the picture, but it should be covering the knot).  These, by the way, are being manufactured for us and will be available in a few weeks time, I will let you know!

Now that is the background sorted, so for the focal element, I used the Spectacular Spin Cut, Fold, Tuck die and beaded it with clear micro beads.  I have had quite a few questions about how to use micro beads so hopefully this will clear it up.  I cut a piece of white card large enough for my die.  Then I cut a piece of the self adhesive sticky paper the same size.  Peeling back one side of the adhesives backing paper (it doesn't matter which side, one is glossy and one is matte, but if you want to die cut it and tape your die in place, then make sure the adhesive stays on the matte side).  If you hold the sticky sheet with the matte side towards you and use your finger to flick the edge to get it started, then 9 times out of 10, the sticky will stay on the side with the matte backing paper attached to it.  Once you have exposed the sticky, lay it face down on your card (in this case, mine was a piece of plain white card).  Smooth it out with your hand so it is attached well and has no air bubbles.  Attach your die so that it is face down on the side with the backing paper and run it through your machine to cut your shape.  Do not emboss as it will cause the paper to shatter and you don't need to because the beads will cover the embossed features anyways.  Then peel the remaining piece of the backing paper off, exposing the sticky sheet.  Lay your card face down in a box lid or plate that has your micro beads in it and press firmly.  This will attach all your micro beads to your card.  Brush away any remaining loose ones and use your fingers to press the others firmly on to your sticky card.  For my Spectacular spin, I then just folded back the cut pieces and tucked them underneath exposing the non beaded white card for a nice contrast.  I used some 3D foam and mounted it in the centre of my card.  I added a pearl to the very centre and pierced my edges to complete my card.  What do you say, is green okay, can the green stay?  All for now, Sue x

I'm another redhead who loves green (& orange & brown!) so this card is beautiful as far as I'm concerned - so different from the usual run of pink / purple designs around - thanks for sharing x

Hi Sue,
I adore the green and I especially love the way the cut and fold diecut seems to be 'emerging' out of the background. It's like a lily breaking the surface of the rippling water in all its glory. Each little overlapping petal unfurling, blossoming with inner beauty.
A real stunner here again Sue.
Best wishes Linda xx
