Clean And Simple

Good morning everyone!  This is certainly a change for me as this card is relatively flat!  I even managed to stop myself from adding a big bow!  Now that is self control, huh? LOL  I do try to make some samples that are a bit out of my comfort zone, but that may appeal to people that don't necessarily like my usual style.  While this card is a bit different for me, I do really like it nonetheless.  I think that the clean and simple style works so well for so many different occasions.  For this card, I started with one of my favourite embossibility folders, the So Trendy.  I embossed the white cardstock for the top half of the card.  I picked a pale blue background for my black Decorative Lace Border die from Heartfelt Creations.  I added a second mat of black and another blue to frame it.  I stamped my sentiment with a black archival ink pad and embossed it with clear powder in the lower corner of the card.  I pierced around the edge to finish it off.  Even if this isn't your favourite style, I do hope you will enjoy it for it's simplicity.
On another note, I finally have a show scheduled  on C & C when I return.  The working date is June 14th, the day after I return!  I have two shows that day (11am and 5pm, tentatively) and I will be premiering my newest sets of die releases from Spellbinders.  These dies will not be released in the States until the summer CHA in July so you will be getting to see them first!  I am very excited about them and will be showing a few sneak previews of them closer to the date.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue as you simple but I do miss your flamboyance with the bows. Your description says blue and white but you picture is more beige and black maybe that is why this card is not standing out for me. Bring back your creative skills and I look forward to seeing you n C&C soon.

Good Morning Sue This card is definitely different from your usual style but it's simplicity is lovely. There is a place for bows but not on every card sometimes you just need a card like this.
Do agree about the colours on my computer the card looks peach and greyish definitely not white as the main colour.

Hi Sue, I am a bit confused as you say you used blue and white card, yet this card comes across as a peach colour. And to be honest, its just not you. Great news that we will be seeing you in a couple of weeks. Linda x

I too think the card's simplicity is not our "Sue" style but nonetheless it can be enhanced any way you like. The colours do look more peachy than blue and white so maybe it would be more outstanding in those colours. It is a style that anyone can attempt. Cant wait to see your new dies preview on C & C. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Good Morning Sue,
A truely simple card, at first I read your write up, expecting you to have explained that you had forgotten to add the bow, lol.
I must admit, I like it better when you are in your comfort zone, and the Sue stunner's are posted, bows, flowers, swirls and fantastic centre pieces, but thats me. So glad to read you are to be on CC with your new Spellbinder dies, I will definitely be getting them and I have not seen them yet, lol.
Have a great Jubilee weekend everyone.

Such a wonderful card here again Sue, and as you said, soooo useful for any thinkable occasion, which can be really good to have on hand some times, when we suddenly need an extra card. This is so beautiful and elegant, but I agree with the former entrant here, it would have been really good with a one of your gorgeous bows thoug, I muissed that a bit too.

I love CAS, so this is right up my alley. The background colors look kind of orange sherbet-y and black on my screen, which I think would be a great color combo, too. I think it's lovely. I like to see designers mix it up a bit. We all tell ourselves to try something different; why should we expect any less from you? Keep what you're doing and go with YOUR flow. ;-)

Hi Sue, I am sure the card looks great but not on the screen. I think the lighting you use when taking the photo, changes the white to cream. So you lose the colour definition. This is a good base card and you can embellish if the occassion needs it. Hugs, Carol S.xx

A much better card for posting as the large ones are so expensive. It makes a nice change and I think the sentiment stands out more. However, I do love your creativity with all the layers so I look forward to what tomorrow will bring. Thank you so much. xx

Very elegant Sue, could be dressed-up if necessary but lovely as it is.

Hi Sue, Classic card. I have just started to get into the clean and simple style & made my first card of this type yesterday. Looking forward to the sneaky peaks. With Love & Light Theresa.H

I do like this card, but I would have never guessed you made it if it wasn't on your blog. I'm really looking forward to seeing the sneak peaks and your new dies.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one not seeing the colors that you describe! As for the lacey die cut, I'd have put it the other way...guess it's a good thing we don't all think alike!

Hi Sue another lovely card but I do miss your bows. As you know I love this die and should be on everyone's list to get, so much detail and nice and deep. Off to work now, hugs Fiona xxxxx

As you said Sue very clean and simple but that is good for those folk who prefer that sort of card, my sister-in-law would just love it as she does not like all the frills and bows and things, personally I like more bling and stuff but each to their own. Lovely to know that we will be getting to see your dies first, roll on the previews!

Oh I will put that date in my diary, how exciting for you..... a different kind of card but one which I really like, great for a masculine card in different colours..... x

A very pretty design, clean and simple and without a bow, not your usual style, nice to see a variety of styles, keeps everyone happy that way!
Great news about your launch, I am looking forward to your shows already. Have missed seeing you on the tv recently.
Hope you are feeling better now, Take care Dawn x

Hi Sue, can't believe you've managed to resist putting on a bow! LOL! I can honestly say although this is different to the normal cards that you do, the more I looked at this the more it grew on me. I know you said it's pale blue & white, it looks more like peach & grey. Nice all the same though! Look forward to seeing you on C&C & seeing a sneak preview of the dies before hand! xx Love Karen xx
