Footprints On Our Hearts

Hi there my crafty friends!  Here is another one of those buckle type cards.  I really like the look of this tartan background paper with it's brown, green, red and yellow colour combo.  It's a bit wild and made for a wild card, but I still like it as its different.   I started with a piece of it and added the Moroccan border all the way around the edge, just peeking out.  I cut the romantic rectangle and used the next size down to cut it into a frame.   I cut a label 25 in red, then stamped my sentiment on the matching backing paper (actually the backside of the tartan paper) and cut it with the next smaller size of labels 25.  I used that die to create a faux nestie for it in brown.  I wove a strip of the matching paper with some red edged organza ribbon through the frame and the labels 25.  I finished the card with a big bow on the side of the card.  This is one of the new ribbons we have been carrying at Creative Expressions and it ties a really nice bow.
Now for the comment game winners!  We have three winners for the comment game and an additional three winners from the post of March 8th!
Congratulations to: lestim, Mariannes Craftroom, Hellma and
tinaco, jollyjoyce, and nesscraftyqueen

Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to claim your prize!  I still have a few unclaimed prizes from past blog candy and comment games, please be sure to check the lists (scroll back down the page to past posts) to see if you have won!  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and a lovely bright card to cheer up this chilly morning. I agree this could be a bit more of a masculine card than some others so gives me ideas for the men in our lives. I HATE doing mens cards. I always get stumped along the line and end up putting a ribbon on it making it into a female card and then have to start over again lol

Have a good day

I love tartan and there are so many choices of colour that you could use with this design. Buckle technique always useful for men but not sure what to use instead of ribbon. I'm sure I've got something in the drawer that would be good.
Love the faux nestie again.

Hi Sue. I love the card layout, the use of tartan & the use of red, but found the overall look wasn't quite to my personal taste. The backing paper that the text is printed on is too busy for me & it makes reading the message very difficult for me due to my dyslexia. I'm sure most people wouldn't have a problem so would love the overall look. This has given me something to think about when making my cards. Thank you.
Congratulations to the winners.
With Love & Light Theresa. H

A wonderful scotish feel love the ribbon I do like the way you have overlapped the edge of the card, I find that quite scary. I missed yesterdays post, sorry, but I was showing my dog at Crufts. He didn't win but maybe I should have put ribbon on him and made a hat from spellbinders, the damask set I think!

Hi Sue,
Sorry I am behind with my comments. been a difficult time.
I love the colours you have chosen here. It's funny but alot of people, unknowingly, seem to choose tartans with a base of blues or black so it is so nice to see a base of brown with added red. I could see this being adapted easily for a stunning Christmas card (sorry I know it's a bit early for that, but hey we have to start sometime.lol!)
Did you know today is the one year anniversary of the biggest earthquake and Tsunami in Japan? I cannot believe how quickly the time goes by. I am not being morbid I promise, I just thought it would be good for us all to remember those lost. Hope that's ok Sue.
Have a good week. Hugs Linda
