You Are So Kind

Good morning my crafty friends!  Thank you all for the wonderful emails and comments you have left for me during these shows!  They have added more shows for today at 10, 3 and 6pm.  They asked me yesterday to do several added shows and since I was already there (a captive audience so to speak, they really didn't have to pin me down and tickle me until I cried uncle! No not really, but I bet you have that image in your head now, huh?), it wasn't a problem.   Christine Emberson is going to help me out and do the shows on Saturday.  What a star she is!   Please tune in and see what she has planned.   It has been great fun for me and I love that it has brought many new friends to the blog too.  Welcome all!
For today's card, I have picked another one that I really liked when I finished it (probably the white and aqua together, which I love).  I started inking my lattice motif die using a clear perfect medium (I patted the pad all around the metal edge of the die), then I placed it in the centre of my aqua card and carefully taped it into place.  I cut the piece in my GC and when I removed the die, the ink had transferred from the edge of the die on to my card, but only around the lip of the outside edge.  Using Aurora Sparkle embossing powder, I heat embossed that edge giving me a sparkly letterpress image of the shape of the die.  Now the Lattice motif that was actually cut out was adhered to a piece of white card, but turned the opposite direction so that you can still see a bit of the white card, but you also get the nice scallopy edge showing through top and bottom.  I cut two of the borders from Samantha Walkers set called Antique Frames and Accents and glued them to the edge of the aqua card.  Using a strip of the redline sticky tape down each side of the border, I ruched some velvet ribbon lace down both sides.  Remember to use some clear Cosmic Shimmer glue once you have it stuck down like you like It.  The glue will make it stay put permanently.  Especially with the thick velvet this is a must or parts of your ruching will pop loose.  I made a bow with some satin ribbon I had on hand and added a smaller bow of organza atop it.  I left a long piece of the satin ribbon to run down the centre of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out using one of the Persian Motif pieces and inked it slightly with Bundled Sage distress ink.  I mounted this in the centre as a focal element over the piece of satin ribbon.  I added one of my big pearl buttons that I have in my craft stash (brought back from the States with me) to cover my naked bow.  Finished the card off by piercing all the edges (like I do).  Just love it, a real happy dance card for me at least. Is it up your alley?  All for now, Sue x

Well Hello Sue and congratulations,
What a fantastic couple of days this has been, I am sure for you as well as for us. The products are, as always, fabulous, the designer (that's you!!) is so talented & creative and the demo's have been intricate but clearly discribed. I have been trying hard to find one word for it all and I am borish because I just keep going back to Mary Poppins. Sad or what?!! lol..
So I am singing (Supercala...) again as I look at todays offering (though I promise not to roast it, not in the British way or the American way- for those who don't watch USA tv, a roast is when a named celeb gets a verbal 'roasting' from other celebs). My humour is poor today aye? Offering/roasting :¬( Sorry guys..lol!
Looking at this card Sue, made me think about using Flocking on the lacey diecut borders (with your DS Adhesive sheets), that would then coordinate with the velvet ribbon in your braid and give another lovely finish. What do you think?
I am going to have to CASE this card Sue. When I do I will put it up on my Pinterest board then you can have a look, see if I am up to scratch.
Hugs and have a well earned rest tomorrow. Linda xx

Hi Sue
Me again, could you show the star card you did on C&C (using squares) it was a lovely card and brilliant demo (especially as you showed us two ways to achieve the look :D)

Love the colours again on this card and the velvet ribbon lace is gorgeous. Thanks for the tip about inking and embossing the edge of the die - great idea that. Personally, I wouldn't have put the bow on the card but that's me - I don't 'do' bows but we all know *you* do :)

Hello Sue, I am a new member having heard you give your blog address on C&C this week. Your cards are stunning and I have a few dies now, will be getting busy following your examples over the weekend. Well done on your own lattice dies and those glass beads are stunning, can't wait to get my hands on some of those. Can you please bring your pearly buttons to us sometime that you have been using to dress your bows. Keep up the good work, Ness (aka nesscraftyqueen) xx

Hi Sue

You are an amazing lady and such a pleasure to watch. I love all the cards you create they are fantastic and you give me such inspiration. I am not a big lover of the colour green to be honest but this card is gorgeous. I was watching you today again and i order a set of dies, this will be my second lot in total, so i am a complete novice with spellbinders. No doubt i will get addicted. Thank you for all the demos in the past two days and i am sure you are tired. I do have a blog but as yet there is nothing much on it. Looking forward to seeing more of you and your demos in the future. Xxx

I think I've had spellbinders (or Sue Wilson) withdrawl symptoms today as I have seen no C&C.
How about having some Sue Wilson Workshops on C&C like they do with Clarity stamps?

Sue, you have given me so many ideas with your demos this week, I have recorded all the programmes.

I have been watching all of your shows and am so inspired to make some cards, but unfortunately I will have to wait a little while. My Grand Caliber is opening up around the seam everytime I use it,so it has had to be returned to c & c quality control, so that they can decide whether to send me out a new machine(please)or repair mine, which isn't fair at all since I only got it at christmas from my hubby, I have a huge order of wedding stationary to do for my niece, so I am a little worried. I am saving all your shows so when I am back up and running, I will be able to get back to work, with the best idea's ever. Sue you are a true inspiration to us all and I am a true fan of your cards. Thankyou so much for sharing so many hints and tips, and beautiful cards. You must be so tired, but you keep on going and smiling.Well Done. x

Hi Sue, Gorgeous card. I never think of putting the bow at the top but have noticed how effective it looks on several of your most recent cards so must try it. I love Sheila's idea of Sue Wilson Workshops on C&C, it would be great if the recordings could be permanently on the website like Barbara's classroom too, then we could refer back to them. Super to see you on TV again today. I bought your cardstock and am looking forward to using it. Sue x

Thank goodness for Sky+ over the past few days, wouldn't have wanted to have missed any of your shows Sue. Agree with other comment, it is nice when the presenter lets you get on and demonstrate without too much interuption!! As for the card beautiful in colour and design. Particularly like the persian die with your lattice one. Have a good day. Edwina

Hi Sue,
Am so glad to see you hit no.1 on blogspots as I was saying you should be a few weeks ago! This was also one of my favourite cards from the shows. I loved the teal and white although I'm glad I saw it on the shows first as it looks pink and teal on my laptop - not a great colour combo! Also loved the ruched ribbon borders and yet another technique with the embossing. Think Dawn Bibby needs to move over as we have to crown a new 'Queen of Crafting'!
