Baked With Love

 Good Sunday morning all!  Out comes another older die set for today's card offering.  I started by cutting two bases out of milk card using the Slimline Double Stitched Rectangles.  I matted them together with mounting foam.  Next I cut the Slimline Square Aperture Trio die but I used the three fall away pieces.  I inked them around the edges with Antique linen then added them with mounting foam to the base.  I used the Baked With Love die set and cut the various pieces in either Petrol Blue, Ruby Red, Silver Shine, Milk, black or white card.  I used a silver paint pen to add the chrome parts to the kitchen tools.  I arranged all the kitchen tools in the outer two squares and glued them down.  I cut the Baked With Love sentiment in red and glued it to the centre square.  The card was completed with milk and red mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 4 3/4"  x  9"  in size.  All for now. Get Well

Hello crafters!  Here is an older sample that never had it's day on the blog!  I started with the background and embossed a piece of white card with the Rose Bed embossing folder.  I cut two more strips of white card and embossed them as well.  Using the Summer Sky Opal Polish, I went over the top of the embossing on the strips and then glued them to the edges of the background.  I used the Opal Polish again and covered a small piece of black card and cut out the Eliza die from it.  I added a white backing to it and glued only the edges of it, then cut the circle centre out of it.  I added mounting foam to the die to raise it, then recessed the polished piece from the centre of the card into the aperture.  I used a bit of the left over piece of polished card and cut a thin circular frame and the Get Well sentiment from it.  I glued the frame around the aperture.  Using the Decorative Flag die set, I cut a flag and glued the sentiment to it.  I added it across the centre of the Eliza die.  Using the Cosmos Flowers outline die, I cut two of them then glittered and offset them.  I added the flower to the left side of the sentiment with some Lace Edged Leaves as accents.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8 1/4"  in size.  All for now. King Of The Grill

 Hello crafters!  Here's another slimline card using an older die set!  I started with the crackled background and I used a piece of black card and painted it with our Crackle Glaze and allowed it to dry thoroughly.  Once dry, I painted over it with the Corinth Blue Matt Chalk Paint and it crackles right away giving you that old worn wood look.  Next I cut the Grill and the accessories from the King Of The Grill die set.  I cut the grill in Petrol Blue and added the flames which I cut from white card and inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide and Barn Door Distress Oxide inks.  I cut the tools out of white card and used a silver paint pen to create the chrome look and either a black or brown marker for the handles.  The shish kabob food was coloured with various markers too.  I glued them onto an oval die and added it above the grill with mounting foam.  I cut the sentiment out of Petrol Blue card and glued it to another oval at the top of the card.  The card was completed with white and petrol blue mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 4 3/4"  x  9" in size.  All for now. Happy Birthday Wild Thing

 Hello crafters!  I know that the Feb. die release was short and sweet, but I hoped you enjoyed it!  I wanted to share this card with you as it was one of my personal favourites, but it also shows how you can use the animals without their frames to make a lovely card.  I started with a pixie powder background that used Burnt Orange and Sun Yellow Pixies.  I covered it with cling film and scrunched it and left it to dry.  Once dry, I used the piece for the background.    I stamped and cut out the Lion, Giraffe and Zebra dies.  I trimmed all of them out of their frames and then coloured each one.  They are really easy to colour as the shading on the stamps makes it really easy!  I used the small and large trees from the African Adventure die set from a few years ago.  I cut the out of black card to look like silhouettes and glued them to the background.  I added the three animals with mounting foam to the centre of the card.  I cut the Happy Birthday and Wild Thing sentiments in black and glued them to opposite corners.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are    7 1/4"  x  9"  in size.  All for now. Safari Tags

 Hello there my crafty friends!  I am afraid this is the final post to our shorter February die launch.  Introducing the Safari Tags.  I wanted a way to put a sentiment on the cards but that would lend itself to the style of the dies.  I designs the Safari Tags to do just that.  The tag dies have a matching clear stamp set that adds detail to the tags as well as sentiment sto fit all the tags and be appropriate to go with all of the animals.  You have seen several of them in action on the samples shown during the launch already.  There are thirteen dies in this set that allow you several different configurations when adding your sentiments to your cards.  I will ask one final time to add your comments to this post.  Don't forget to check back on the 23rd of February in the afternoon as I will be doing the drawings and posting the list of the winners names!  All for now, Sue x

Lion

Hi bloggers!  You just couldn't have a safari collection without the king of the jungle now could you?  I just love the majestic look of this one, don't you?  Just look at the fine detail in the mane that you get with the matching stamp, it is incredible I think!  All of the animals are really easy to colour too as the shading detail has been put in on the stamps so well.  They make really beautiful cards too as you can really go to town on them or use a simple watercolour wash as I have done here in this sample.  This one sings to me, how about you?  If so, just leave your comment on this post and your name will be entered into the drawing to win it.  Feel free to leave comments on each post, but please only leave one comment per person per post.  I still have a bit more to share with you so I will be back at 3pm today!  All for now, Sue x

Rhino

Hello crafters!  Welcome to day number two of the February die release launch.  We are starting with the Rhino.  I know they aren't the cutest of animals, but I just love this one!  It just says masculinity doesn't it with that tough hide and horn!  I also want to point out one of the four new safari collection stencils that are also being released with the collection.  This one is called Animal Prints and the stencil are all 7" x 7" in size.  I love that I was able to make them a tad larger than our other stencils as these dies look great on a larger card size!  If you are with me on this one, then leave a quick comment on the post and meet me back here at noon for the final animal die in the release.  I bet you can guess what it is going to be, right?  All for now. Zebra

Hello crafters!  What a quick day this has been and we are at the final post of the day.  Of course there just had to be a zebra in the safari collection!   I just love all the detail that you get when you stamp the matching stamps, then cut them out.  I would highly recommend that you get the matching stamps for these dies too as the detail is just incredible.  They really help make your cards stunning too!  If this zebra is just singing to you, then why not leave a comment on this post.  Don't forget to make your name memorable in some way so there is no confusion as to whose name I have drawn out as the winner!   Well that is it for today but we have tomorrow as well.  I did say that we would be releasing collections more often, but they are definitely smaller in size so we only have one more day to share the rest of the collection with you!  I will be back here at 6am in the morning for another animal in the collection.   All for now,    Sue x

Sloth

Hello there my crafty friends!  I am back here with one of my other favourite animals; the sloth!  I just love sloths, they are such unusual animals so I just had to include one in my collection.  He is having a bit of fun hanging among the vines in his oval frame.  I love that the sentiment goes with him too, it is so cute!  Although I am not doing a post on the new embossing folders, I thought I would at least point one of the out to you as I have used the new Fan Palms embossing folder for the background of this card.  If you are like me and love a bit of sloth, then go ahead and leave your comment on this post.  I have also included the Pinterest button on the bottom of each post so if you would like to pin any of your favourite dies or samples, please feel free to do so.  We have one more post for the today and I will be back here at 6pm for that one.  I hope you will be able to join me then.  All for now,    Sue x

Elephant

February Die Release Blog Launch / Safari Collection-Giraffe

Hello crafters!  I would like to share the dies from the February die release with you this week.  It is a much smaller release with only seven dies and six matching rubber stamps and one A5 clear stamp set and four 7" x 7" stencils in the collection.  All the products are part of my newest Safari Collection.  We will be giving a set of the dies away based on the comments left on each post like we always do too, so don't forget to leave those comments!  Please make sure to leave your name on your comment and make it memorable in some way.  Please add in your last name or initial, maybe the city of town you are from or just a funny alias, anything that sets you apart from others with the same first name!   I will do the drawings for the winning dies and announce the winners on Feb. 23rd.  We are starting with the giraffe first up.  I had the chance once to feed giraffes while on a holiday in Mauritius and look directly into their eyes as we were on a feeding platform tower.  They have long since been one of my favourite animals since that remarkable day!  The giraffe die and stamp are inside a beautiful frame that has the appearance of being wrapped in the corners with a rattan or vine wrap.  He (or she) is framed by lovely foliage jutting inward from the edge of the frame.  If this one is a favourite of yours too, then just leave a comment on the post and you might just become the winner of this drawing.  The next post will be along at noon today.  All for now.
