Hi crafters! Although this card started out as black and white, you will see from some of the close up pics, it is a bit more than that. I started by embossing a piece of
coconut white card using the
Sublime Swirls 3D embossing folder. Next I cut the
Ivy Garden Background out of black card. I rubbed each of the pieces with
Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish for an antique look. I glued the ivy pieces into each of the corners. I cut a thin frame using the
Double Pierced Noble Circles and added mounting foam to raise it. I attached it in the centre of the card and glued the ivy ring die into the centre of the frame. I cut a small centre as a base for the sentiment. The
Thank you mini expression was cut in black and gilded and glued to the centre of the card. Black and white mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Such opulence. The dies are gorgeous, every sample and card I've seen in the group are just amazing. Like Jan on the Fosse, I must think about guilding more, in fact I need to try and get back to crafting, so much has been invested on dies etc and for whatever reason my interest has been lost. I need a big kick up the rear !!!

That is such a wonderful embossing folder.
In black, this does nothing for me. Maybe green would have been a better color. I like the gilding polish, too, and it would have also been lovely on green.

I have to say that the pictures you have posted with the card at an angle really give the full effect of the Gilding Polish. It works exceptionally well on the black card to great effect. We all know how you love your black and white cards and although it will not suit some people it is good that you cover the use of all types of card and colours for us. I personally really appreciate seeing something that I might not have considered.
