You're Special To Me

Good Sunday morning all!   I started today's card by embossing a piece of white card with the Leafy Quad embossing folder.  I sprayed it with permanent spray glue and coated it with Diamond Snow.  I used the Shaded Lilac distress ink direct to the background and lightly rubbed it over the top so it just inked the raised glittered portion of the design.  You will need to wipe off your ink pad though as it tends to pick up a bit of glitter doing it this way.    I cut four of the Swirly Lace Edger corners and glued them into each corner to complete the background.  Next I cut the Sintra die n white, backing it in white as well.  I used the centre round die to cut it into a frame.  I stamped my sentiment then mounted the frame with foam to raise it over the sentiment.  The Lattice Arched adornment was cut twice and added to each side of the die as accents.  I added a mauve seam binding bow and crystal sparkler with matching stick pins to the side.  The card was completed with my pierced white layer, a mat edged with Shaded lilac and another white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.

The winners of this week's comment game are:

nzillingworth!!!
Lynn Dalby!!!
stamps and paper!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
Sorry I haven't been commenting for a while, but I am going through a waking nightmare at the moment . To make it very short. My husband of 35 years has gone to live with another woman in Turkey. He just walked out the door saying he was off to the Shetland Isles for a week (he worked away) and has not come back. He never even told his employers, so has no job now. It was totally out of the blue and if you'd met him would have thought he was the last person who would have done such a thing!
To say I'm heartbroken and devastated is an understatement. I have 2 grown up children who are a wonderful support ,but at the same time can't believe what their Dad has done.
I know I'm only a relatively new to the blog( about 6 months)so I hope you all don't mind me unloading this.
Crafting was such a joy and at the moment the last thing I want to do.
I know I will come through this and be a much stronger person, but I have a lot of things to face yet that I never thought I would have to.
It's my Birthday tomorrow and I'm determined he will not spoil it!
Love to anyone who is also going through tough times.xxx

Hi Sue, a beautiful card in my all-time favourite colours. I must try inking over glitter, it looks lovely.

Tracy - hope those bloods have been behaving themselves and you can get your line in tomorrow. It's good to have a friend on the same journey as I am sure you will support each other all the way.

Congratulations to all the comment game winners, enjoy your prizes.

As the weather people promised, the gales have died away and although still breezy I can see Norah's hills today shining in the sunshine. Compared to yesterday it is like living in two different worlds. I feel so sorry for the people in Cumbria and the surrounding areas who have had it far worse and are still going through it. Fingers crossed they get the sunshine tomorrow.

Gurt big Birthday (((((hugs))))) for tomorrow.

Hi Sue

What a stunningly beautiful card, happy to say I have pretty much all of the ingredients so it'll go on the 'to try' list. Sky box is set and ready, hoping Mr W has his own plans for the day!

Thinking of all those in Cumbria, north Lancashire and other places in the north of England, north Wales and Scotland. Baby bro is at University of Cumbria and his digs are in Lancaster. His ex girlfriend who he is still close to and who became a friend of the family is in Windermere. I know a lot of homes in Cumbria and Lancaster lost power, I texted him soon as I heard last night and I've not heard from either of them from facebook. He lives on a hill in a first floor room so I know he should at least be dry but I'm concerned all the same that he is stranded. I'm trying Facebook again in a bit. There's not much I can do as I'm here in Suffolk, I can't get up there to bring him home and know he can look after himself but I still worry, especially after seeing places on the news I know he goes to under feet of water. Will check the uni website too as so many places in Cumbria are just wrecked. It's heartbreaking thinking of the families and businesses who's been affected and so close to Christmas too. I hope everyone who visits the blog is ok, I know there are a lot of you in the north and Scotland and I hope you're all safe, sending hugs to all of you xxx

Carole, to be treated like that is appaling, my heart goes out to you and your kids. Us women may be hurt in the short term but we gain stregnth ten fold in the long term, have a wonderful birthday with your kids and know we're all here for you, doesn't matter how long you've been here. You'll craft when you're ready, don't worry. Sending many hugs and a hand to hold when you feel down xxx

Tracy, I hope the tests show good results and I hope the picc line goes in without a hassle, make sure you're well hydrated as that helps them get into the vein. I'm glad you have a new friend who is on the same journey as you but sorry she's in hospital. I hope you both feel better soon and can bake and craft yourselves to better days, many hugs xxx

Sending hugs to Melody, Francis & Molly, hope everything is ok xxx

After spending all night trying to track down my brother and being worried I got little sleep so I spent today dozing on and off. So not a lot to report!
Lynda, thank you, hopefully todays dozing will mean I feel sharper tomorrow! Hugs from myself and Billy.
Sending every one of the Wilsonettes hugs and happiness for the new week,
