Orphan Cards

Happy New Year's Eve!  As always, today is the day that I post my the cards that I made during the year that just didn't quite sing to me when they were completed.  They didn't get their day on the blog  because I just wasn't quite thrilled with the way that they turned out if I'm honest (we are our own worst critics though, aren't we!).  The good news is that there were a few less this year than in years past.  I offer these "orphan" cards up to anyone that feels like they could give them a good home.  So if you would like to have a chance to be a foster parent to these cards, leave me a comment and I will draw a winner and post the name on Monday Jan 4th.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue,
I agree we are our own worst critic. These cards are lovely I especially like the first one.
I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year., this year you have inspired me so much in my craft work.
I have spent a fortune on dies & stamps. I have always held back from buying dies until this year. But your die sets have wowed me so much .i have gone from a handful of dies to 8 books full (inspired by John's storage books for his dies I made my own 8 X 8 inch books to store mine) I now have to make more books as I have run out of space lol. I also made books with pockets to store the stamp sets,
I cannot wait to see what you and John Lockwood have for us in the next year.
Thank you so much
Maggie

It is interesting how we may dismiss cards we have made as not being up to scratch, yet, if we send them, the recipients are inevitably delighted and appreciate the effort made. I can be certain that that will apply to any winners of these orphans.

My favourites? Those using the weaving dies, because experience (a frustrating one to be sure) showed me the effort needed to end up with a neat end product. That, plus the fact that I do love the effects.

I hope you and all the blog followers have an enjoyable end to the old year whether you celebrate in style or, like me go to bed early having imbibed a suitably large Orkney malt whisky.

Morning Sue
I am more than willing to adopt each and very one of your 'orphans'. I promise I will love them even more than if they were my own.
I cannot believe it is the last day of 2015. Is it just me or does time seem to pass me by much quicker as I get older?
Apologies for not being around over the last few days. Been a bit under the weather with some sort of flu like bug so been feeling a bit rotten. Yesterday it was 5 years since Steve my partner died. It is always an emotional day but for some reason yesterday it seemed to affect me more than usual. I think it must be because I was feeling so rough.
Anyway, it is a beautiful day today. Lovely blue skies and the sun is shining. Must start preparing for my night of wild partying. I am hoping to pop over to a friends at about 6 to have a bite to eat then home by about 9. I know how to live it up! I may even push the boat out and dress suitably for the occasion and put my pyjamas on. Boys are both out and if I am completely honest I am looking forward to the peace and quiet. And now I am sounding like a party pooping Scrooge!!!
I need to make sure I am bright eyed and bushy tailed for our great leaders appearance on Hochanda. I have Christmas money screaming 'spend me' but of course there is only one thing that I want to spend my rare windfall on.
However you are spending your New Years Eve I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year. Here's to a 2016 that will bring all of us good health and happy times,
TRACY - you rock girl. You are such a star. Your positive attitude is such an inspiration. Love and hugs x
MELODY - here's hoping and praying that 2016 marks a turning point to you all. With much love to you and yours x
There are so many of you that I would like to send a personal message to but I would be here all day.
LAINE - I could not leave you out my bestest blog buddy. Can I offer you a bit of advice? Just remebef when you are partying hard and swinging from the.chandeliers tonight there is such a thing as dignity! Clearly you have not got much but remember that you are not 16 and your behaviour should reflect this. Happy New Year gorgeous girl - love and hugs and fingers crossed for a face to face 'confrontation' in 2016 x
MARIA - roast beef gone x
Lorraine and Widely Bad - sending you big huggles!!
Sue I hope you have a fabulous time celebrating but not too much as we need you fully alert tomorrow. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time, dedication, sharing and warmth which continues to be such a tonic and an incredibly dynamic blog. You truly are one in a million. Thank you so much. Love and huge hugs x
Signing off now. See you next year.

I see some real beauties...you are too hard on yourself.

Today is my grandsons birthday and your post gave me an idea for his card. I already made him an explosion box for his money gift, but was stumped over a card. I think my mojo is spent so soon after Christmas cards and tags. Thanks for the jump start.

Happy New Year!

Oh my goodness!! I would LOVE to be a foster parent to these beautiful cards!! My hope would be that I could adopt them once all hurdles have been jumped! They would have a nice, safe, bright and happy lie with me and would definitely receive a lot of love and adoration!! I have an idea for a collage frame that would hold all of these so they can shine forever! They would make me smile every time I walk into my Craft Oasis because I would put them in a place that allowed me to see them from my work island! Thank you for considering me to be their foster parent! It is a job I would take very seriously! ((((HUGS)))) and Happy New Year to you and yours!

Good afternoon Sue and all the Wilsonettes,
Awh what a shame, poor wee orphans needing a new home, well if you make your way up to Scotland i am quite sure you will be perfectly at home amongst my craft goodies and you will be all happy once more. Sue each and every one of your cards is a WOW to us and some of them take us gently by the hand and lead us to try out other things and some are just right up our street, but what ever the style of card it will always be a WOW in our eyes as they were made by our queen of crafting who has style and elegence in abundance. I hope that you go into a new year with your hopes and dreams overflowing and coming to fruition each and every one of them flower as you work so very hard for us and you deserve the accolades and recognition for all that you do. Take care dear lady and all the Wilsonettes, i hope that you have a wonderful time tonight and to a new year full of promise and dreams. I send you all hugs, prayers and my thoughts that you can only go up from where you are the now,
love and crafty hugs

I can offer a peaceful shelf, with lots of affection, they won't get lonely as I have a retired husband who will watch over them & provide a light weekly dusting, 3 dogs will admire them daily & a young niece & nephew who will attempt to copy them to keep their spirits alive.

If I'm not lucky enough to adopt these, please can you provide the instructions for the brown happy birthday design

Hi Sue
Orphans indeed young lady, they are all beautiful in their own right & I would be so thrilled to give them a new home by the sea on the North Norfolk Coast where they could sit happily & contentedly on my craft room shelves where they would be adored, loved & cherished as my own...

Talking about orphans, we collect orphans that we find on the roads & streets when we're out & about, soft toys, hard toys, anything really & take them home, give them a good wash & collect them throughout the year then we donate them to charity which will hopefully give some children some pleasure. I get quite sad when they're gone & hoping they have found a good new home.....

Oh Sue, I will "adopt all of your orphan" cards anytime! I just purchased a shelf for my craft room and it would be a perfect home for these orphans. I too have cards that I'm not happy with and put them in another stack. Then when I need a card in a hurry and don't have time to make one, I go to this stack and choose one. Maybe the card only needed a bow, stick pin, a dab of ink, and could always add glitter!

I would love to give those cards a new home! thanks for a chance to win

Happy 2016 I'd strongly urge you go up and read the comment 're the generosity Sue shows to her bloggers throughout the year. If you can take a few short minutes out of your day when there is a gift on offering then you can spare those same few minutes to show your gratitude for the generosity. Sue doesn't deserve to be at number 1 in the craft blog, but only YOU can help Sue achieve that by not only leaving a comment when you hope to win something. I can't remember who left that comment but I totally agree with everything words. This too isn't meant to offend, it's a reminder to say "thanks you" like you've been bought to do.

Have a good crafty 2016 everyone xx
