Thank You For Lifting My Spirit

Hi bloggers!  The sentiment is a bit appropriate for me today because our internet has been down for over 24 hours!  I feel like I am going through withdrawals!  What DID we ever do before it came along! LOL   I have had to take my computer out to find a hotspot to update my blog!  Today's card is a sort of clean and simple style (if you ignore my ginormous bow!)  I started by embossing my white background piece using the Splendid embossibility folder.  I used the Scallop Borders to create the black border under my sentiment.  I used the scalloped edge and then the plain cutting edge for the other side.  I adding in the same scalloped die piece in the centre to emboss the design.  It was done in two steps.  I stamped the Vine Scroll Stamp To Die For in black on red card.  I cut it out with the matching Labels 30 die.  I stamped my sentiment on white card and cut it out with a smaller Labels 30 die.  I used Black Soot Distress ink to lightly ink it while it was still in the die.  I mounted it with foam in the centre of my focal element.  I had some beautiful red ribbon (from my stash) so I tied a double bow and added a black Dazzler in the centre.  I added a thin black mat before finishing with a double white mat with a pierced inner layer.  I will schedule a few more posts in case my internet decides to stay on holiday!  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.    Just thought I would give you a quick reminder that Julia Watts has two shows on C & C today at 8am and 3pm.  Be sure to tune in to see what she has in store for you!    I am flying home today so I won't be able to answer emails until late tomorrow, just to let you know.  Please behave yourself Blogger and put my scheduled blog post up on time! LOL   All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue,
I love the big red bow, but there again i was/am a red shoes girl. What a beautiful simple card, that apart from the bow is understated elegance. These new borders are so versatile because at first glance of the actual dies you think " how many think is a card edge (lengthways) that small?" But i think you have used it every way bar the edge of a very short card... clever you.
Take care coming home,
Love and crafty hugs

morning Sue
What a beautiful gift for today. As soon as I saw it it reminded me of '11 Nov. Remembrance Day' and would be very appropriate for that and in fact for 29 June as it is 'Armed Forces Day' here in the UK. Having a contact with the forces this means a lot to me.
I love the colour scheme. Red/Blk/white always make a statement and shout 'I am here'. The format is very regal.
Hope you have a safe and smooth journey back. I am sure there will be lots of tears but you all have the wonderful memories.
