Mini Poinsettia Striplet

Three Wise Men Mini Striplet

Good morning all!  The new Three Wise Men Mini Striplet is the perfect way to not only start the day off right, but to introduce you to the new slightly smaller sized striplets.  These are just a hair over  1 3/4" x  5 1/4" in size. The original striplet size was 2" x 6" in size.   I had requests for smaller sized dies from many of you so I have included several on this latest die release.  This is the first scene that I have attempted in a striplet but I am so happy with the results.  The detailing is stunning with both embossed and debossed areas within.  I only wish you could see this one in person!  Leave me a comment to be included in the drawing and don't forget to check back.  The next blog post is scheduled to arrive at 10am.  Hope you can join us again then.  All for now, Sue x

Snowflakes

Hello crafters!  What a day it has been.  I hope you are all enjoying the posts for the day, but don't forget that there are several more days to follow!  This blg post is featuring the Snowflakes.  A set of six snowflakes of varying sizes that look fabulous layered up as seen here, or will hold their own equally as well as single snowflakes.  You will see them used quite often on many of the upcoming cards in the days to follow as they have been a real staple for building backgrounds as well as focal elements.  This set is up for grabs, if you leave me a comment, you will be entered in the drawing to win it.  This is the final post for today, but the fun commences again at 6am tomorrow with the new mini Striplet dies!  Hope to see you there!  All for now, Sue x

Deboss Snowflake Die

Hi there my crafty friends!  One of my favourite dies from this release is the Deboss Snowflake.  I just simply adore using this die to create beautiful letterpressed cards such as this one.  Not your usual Christmas colours, but none the less festive in the soft dusty rose colour combo (which matches our new Mica Flakes seen here!).  There are separate cutting edges so it is so easy to create a lovely frame for your cards, as well as a decorative inside die which can be used to add extra detail to your creations.  Leave me a comment and I will add your name to the drawing to win this stunner.  I hope to see you back here at 6pm for the last post for today.  It is definitely worth the wait in my opinion.  All for now, Sue x

Peeking Snowflake

Snowflake Background

Christmas 2015 Die Blog Launch --Snowflake Border, Corner, Tag Die set

Hello bloggers!  Welcome to the first post for the 2015 Festive Christmas die Collection!  There are 21 brand new Christmas dies that are being released now.  I will be showcasing each of the different dies in blog posts over the next four days so I hope you can join us through to see them all.   We have also decided to bring back seven of the more popular dies from last year's Christmas release, including Let It Snow, the Holly Spray and the Classic Poinsettia, to name just a few.  This card is featuring the new Snowflake Border, Corner and Tag die set.  You can see the border and the tag used here.  They are beautifully detailed and are sure to add so much to your Christmas cards and projects this year!  As always, I will be giving away a set of each of the new dies.  You just need to leave a comment on each of the blog posts to be entered into the drawing for that particular die.  One comment per blog post please as we want it to be fair to everyone.  If you accidentally happen to duplicate your comment, I will remove any extras, but you can and should leave a comment on each different die post.   If I can ask that you make sure to add either a surname initial, a nickname, a place (like Judy in Wolverhampton, for example), a funny alias or some other way of distinguishing yourself should your name be drawn.  If I draw out just your first name, there may be more than one person claiming the die set and I only have one set to giveaway!  I don't want anyone to be disappointed! Swirly Channel Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's video card is one of my favourite types of cards to make, a channel card.  This channel card uses a simple swirl repeatedly to bridge the channel and give a lovely swirly effect.  Hope you will have a chance to watch the video and see how it's done!

On another note, I hope you will be able to join me tomorrow for the blog launch of my new Christmas dies for 2015!  The fun starts promptly at 6 am and runs for four days!

Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  I have a bit of a fancy card for the giveaway today!  There is a lot going on, but I just love the way it all came together and hope you will like it too.  Just leave me a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card using the Leafy Quad embossing folder.  I used Polar White Sparkle Texture Paste and paper grouted it for a bit of extra bling.  I set it aside to dry for a while then cut four of the Portuguese borders out of white card.  When the background was fully dry, I hooked the centres of the borders over the top and had them meet in the corners which I tucked behind.  The borders provide a pretty, and fancy frame for my background.  Next I used the Classic Adorned Design Noble to create a debossed frame.  I cut it in the middle to make it a bit shorter, then taped it back together and added mounting foam to the back of it.  I stamped my sentiment using a Black Archival ink pad on coconut white card.  I cut two of the Petite Arched Adornment and added them to the inside of the frame with the straight edges lining the sentiment.  I stamped a variety of the Perfect Peony flowers in black ink on sky blue card and cut them out with the matching dies.  I stamped the leaves and inked the with Forest Moss after cutting them with the matching leaf dies.  I assembled the flowers and arranged them in opposite corners on my frame, taking card to conceal the cut line in the frame.  I matted my background on sky blue card to add a bit more colour, then added my usual matting and layering with piercing to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4"  x  8 1/4" in size.  The winners name will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Striped Background

Hello crafters!  We are working with the Striped Weaving die in today's video offering, but you don't always need to weave a background to use it.  Here is another lovely look that can be achieved with this versatile die.

Beautiful Day

Hi bloggers!  I have a real romantic looking sort of card for today's offering.  In it's very soft blush and white tones and filigree dies, it just has that sort of feel to me.  I started by cutting the Pavo Gemini  die three times out of coconut white card and using just the bottom cutting edge with it.  I stacked them on top of each other for a petticoat effect.  For the focal element, I used the Portuguese Sintra die in the back, cut out of white card.  I stamped my sentiment and used the inside die in the same set to cut it out.  I inked it lightly with Tattered Rose distress ink before removing it from the die.  I mounted it with foam in the centre.  I created two flowers using the Complete Peony die set and some decorative paper from my stash.  It had a soft streaky line pattern to it and I thought it would look lovely in the flower die cuts.  I used the Dandelion Clocks for the very centre of the flowers and inked them in a Scattered Straw ink.  I seated one of the flowers on a double bow tied from Sideshow Rose Stain ribbon.  I placed the other flower diagonal on my focal element.  The card was completed with a white pierced mat, a thin blush mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x
