Hi guys! From the biggest bow ever yesterday to the tiniest bow today! See I can change! It doesn't always have to have a ginormous bow ( I just like them to!) LOL I had to come back to the lattice motifs and border accents today. I started with a piece of October Afternoon background paper in a black and pale yellow pattern. I cut four borders and edged the paper with them, cutting them all down slightly to fit. I glued them down so the outside straight edge formed a frame for my card. I added to offset corners for interest. I cut one of the Lattice Motifs in yellow and mounted it with a bit of 3D foam pieces. I stamped my sentiment on to a lighter yellow and cut it out. I mounted it in the centre of my motif and drew some faux stitching lines with a fine tipped black pen to it and to the edge of the lattice motif. I added three small black pearls below my sentiment. I made a tiny bow from black vintage ribbon and added it to the top of my motif.
Beautiful card Sue and fabulous colour's
ReplyDeleteHugs Dianne xx :)

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteanother one that sings. It is great for any occasion and suit either gender.Love stitching round the middle of this one or thread thin ribbon as u designed the holes seems a shame to waste them. Sometimes the simplest are the best.Less is more. Just done a buckle card with this die. Having great fun with these dies. Cant wait for the next designs. What are you up to?!?!?!?!

ReplyDeleteI like the colours and the centre of the card, but I am not keen on the added borders, as I think it makes it look unbalanced. sorry!

Tiny bows are very cute..
Love this card and how you have used the border. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Sue.Love your colour combination.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card Sue. I just love your lattice designs, the are so different to the other dies out there. I always try to work out how you make a card before reading how you actually did it, you got me fooled on this one with turning the corners into frames - clever.
ReplyDeleteVicki
Scrumptious as per usual Sue XX
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. Love this card. The borders make it really stand out and I love the colours. Thanks for sharing. Teresa xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, What a very useful card! Definitely one I can envisage making several times over for different people and occasions. Lovely just as it is, it would also be very suitable for men's cards (maybe changing the little bow for a simpler knot or perhaps a button & twine). For something like Mother's Day I would change at least one of the corner accents for flowers - and the bow might grow!! But I wouldn't change anything else because it's such a super design and it's one I just know I'm going to love trying. Many many thanks for your wonderful inspiration, Sue x
ReplyDeleteLove those dies, you can do so much with them. Like the small bow but love the big ones!!!
ReplyDeletenice card sue, love the colours, tho personally would have liked a slightly larger bow. here's hoping all is well with you.hugs, theresa
ReplyDeleteI've bought you Lattice Motifs and Accents and can't wait to try them out. Great inspiration as always.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutley lovely Sue loved the colours you used also I love your lattice design not using anything else at mo x
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have used the borders to make a frame around the spellbinder, and just a little teeny bow so that your lattice work is shining through the whole piece. Really nice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sue, your dies are so versatile and stunning, a small bow is just right to compliment the card, I smiled its like yesterdays bow had a baby, I always find yellow a hard colour to work with, but it looks stunning with black. Thank you for the inspiration Helen O xxx
ReplyDeleteOoo love it, so pretty
ReplyDeleteYellow is not one of my favorite colors, so I don't use it that often. You've managed to make it look fantastic! I like your "baby" bow as well, if it was the same ribbon I'd think that yesterday's bow had become a Mama!
ReplyDeleteR/
Stunning, beautiful colour comination, what a lovely frame the lattice boarder makes.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Edwina
What a fabulous card, I love it.
ReplyDeletexxx Hazel.
Love the card even the iddy biddy bow. Lol Lynne M
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to seeing what you design you have come up with for the day! I just wish I was as good as you!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card yet again sue,the colours are beautiful and different.little bow is lovely.xxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed this post, I am totally messed up this week, the days are flying past and I am not able to keep up with them.
Anyway, I had to come back and write about your card as I love it so much.
The borders frame the central motif perfectly and the effect is quite stunning. I think twisted vines and mini flowers draping down from the top corners would be another fab use of this layout. This is where the Spellbinder Bitty Blossoms would look really good. Also I think this layout could be used for an Easter card with the central motif being the egg. A really versatile layout I must say and one I will definitely have to adapt.
This card shows off your dies perfectly.
Regards and best wishes Linda x
love this card and i love your dies too.
ReplyDeleteI really love the lattice look of this card! It is really a very pretty card again, Sue....big smiles. Mimi
