Happy Birthday

Hello there my crafty friends!  I have an opal polish sample that uses some of the older dies for you today.  I started with the Summer Sky Opal Polish and applied it to a piece of white card and allowed it to dry.  I used the Rose Bed embossing folder to add texture to the polished card.  Once embossed, I went over the top very lightly with Lilac Rose Opal Polish (it is hard to tell in the pics, but very pretty in real life!)  I had some leftover polished card so I cut the Claire die out of it.  I added the larger backing piece to it in white.  I cut a Maggie die in white then cut it in half and mounted the two halves on either side of the Claire die.  I attached it to the background with mounting foam.  I cut a small circular frame out of the polished card.  I stamped my sentiment and added the circle frame over it with foam, then attached it to the centre of the card.  I made two small flowers using the die from the Magnolia Corner die set, glittered them and added them to the left side of the card.  I used the Lace Edged Leaves in white as accents.  I added a strip of white pearls to the top and bottom edges of the card.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  8 1/2"  in size.  All for now. Sue x

  2. Hi Sue and our Particraft family. What a beautiful week you gave us, so much outstanding inspiration from our friend and mentor. The video Saturday was extra special but bringing out the dies lower down in our collection is great because they still show their beauty, unlike myself they age with constant style. Your 'older' dies never age just get better as your samples show, absolutely beautiful thank you xxx

  24. Hi Sue. What a really pretty, feminine card today. Those opal polishes a certainly successful when used with embossing folders as they help to show off the texture. This card makes me want to get some of my older dies out and have a play.
