Hello crafters! After having a nice rummage in my background pile, I ground this lovely Caught in Crystal technique background. For it, I used a piece of acetate and dropped Yellow, Orange and red Crystal Tints on to it. I spritzed it a bit with some water and used a paintbrush to move the colours across the acetate. I covered it with a scrunched up piece of tissue paper and allowed it to dry overnight. Next I cut the Leafy Oval die three times out of white card and cut the centres out each time. I attached two of the horizontally and nippeed away the over lap areas. I mounted the third one on top in the centre. Using the Double Stitched Ovals, I cut a multi layered white frame and added it with foam to the centre Leafy Oval. I cut the So Sweet Of You sentiment in white and glued it to the centre oval. I cut three small flowers from the Cherry Blossom Frame set and glittered them, then glued them to the bottom of the centre oval as an accent. The card was completed with white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 9" in size. All for now. Sue x
Morning Sue, a real beauty this morning, the vibrant warm colours are just so cheerful on a cold morning. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue.
ReplyDeleteWow a real statement on your mantelpiece.
Lovely thank you.
Take care stay safe and have fun Kitty.
Hiya Sue and family. Bright, happy and beautiful. Until you read the 'ingredients' the background has that pixie look to it but as you're not overly keen on pixie powders why would I think that lol. Are the colours of the tints matched to a lot of the other colours in the mixed media collections can someone answer? I do love your dies with the leaf designs and it goes without saying your flowers of any shape or size have my heart. A beautifully designed sample to lift our spirits today whatever the day or time you've popped in. I describe this as a buckle without the beautiful buckle. Sending as much love and as many hugs as you want and please STAY SAFE KEEP CARING you are precious xxx 💖

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a beautiful creation, I remember years ago at a workshop doing the acetate/colour/ and tissue paper, I still have a piece of that in my stash, will have to fish it out and see if I can make something with it. I wonder how many crafters have a stash of backgrounds waiting to be used??
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Great card, love the background.

Good Morning Sue and all.
ReplyDeleteAnother keeper this grungy looking day. I still haven't finished making my Christmas cards and haven't yet used all my new dies I think I will carry on making a few a day until I'm finished for this year and then start next years with the new dies.
I love the bright and beautiful card you have shared with us today.
Thank you for the inspiration Sue.

Good Morning Sue. Ohhhh it's so dark this morning ... then ... BOOM ... I open up the best blog in the land and my whole morning just lights up. Omg. What a great card.
ReplyDeleteI agree with STEPHANIE. Reminds me of the beautiful buckle cards from long ago. That was my first though too.
And JUNE SMITH. Yes I have a folder with stashed pixie powered backgrounds. Every so often I have a pixie day and create different colours so they are on hand when I need them. No need to wait for them to dry. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today. Kind Regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

Hi Sue, a great card and one that I think would make a good alternative Christmas card with just a change of sentiment and maybe a Hellebore instead of the small flowers.
