Wishing You Well

Good Sunday morning all!  It was back to the background stash for today's card!  I selected a piece of pixie powdered card that I really liked!  I used Teal Wash, Mango Blaze and Aqua Lagoon Pixie Powders all over a piece of white card, spritzed it with water and allowed it to dry.  I used the Maggie die cut three times in white for my focal element.  I glued two of them slightly overlapping in the centre to the pixied card, then added the third one on top in the middle of them with foam.  I used some of the leftover pixied card to cut the centre circle from the Eliza die.  I added it with foam to the centre, then cut the Wishing You Well sentiment in white and black, shadowed it then glued it to the circle.  Just to give it a framed look, I cut two thin strips of the pixied card and added thin black mats to them.  I added them to the top and bottom of the card with foam to raise them.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4"  x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  22. Hi Sue. Love the combination of pixie powders you have used on this background. I really ought to create a stash of different background papers rather than making them one at the time, my only problem is finding space for them to all dry! Nice to see you can make a really lovely card using just one die.

  38. A beautiful card. Your Maggie die is one of my favorites. I love how delicate it is with the the swirls going around the scallops. Your pixie powder background is fantastic. I'm finding some of my pixie powdered backgrounds are smearing after they are dry even though my paper had a lot of water on it to activate the powders. Do you spray a fixative over your dried pixie powder backgrounds? Hugs

You always make such lovely pixie powder backgrounds Sue, and this one is no exception, a lovely card. It was because of your inspiring backgrounds that I bought some pixie powders, which reminds me I must put some new ones on my wish list for Christmas
