I See Your Birthday Has Come Around Again!

Hello bloggers!  This one should wake you up on a Monday morning, huh?! LOL  I was playing with our new Pearlescent Watercolour inks (gotta say, I love them!)  I used The Lemon Glacier and the Golden Sunrise here.  They have a nice dropper type container and I just dotted around drops of the two colours then spritzed them with water and covered with a piece of cling film and set it aside to dry overnight.  Once dry, I used the Cut Corner Rectangles to cut an aperture in the middle.  I used the Quilted Pillow embossing folder on the centre cut out piece and then pieced it back into the aperture.  I cut a white frame using the Cut Corner Rectangles and added mounting foam to the back of it.  I attached it over the embossed section.  I cut the sentiment twice, once out of white and a black shadow die for underneath.  I glued it in the frame in the middle of the card.  Using a bit of leftover card from the background, I cut flowers from the Magnolia Corner die set and made three flowers.  I seated them in opposite corners and added white Lace Edged Leaves as accents.  The card was completed with white mats and layers,  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4"  x  8 1/4"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

  12. Morning Sue and all wilsonettes, what a beautiful, bright welcome this card bring on this dull and wet Monday morning in Kent, we have certainly had our fair share of horrible weather over the past week. But what a way to brighten us up with this creation using the Lemon Glacier and Golden Sunrise Pearlescent Watercolour Inks, and to use the leftover scraps to make the lovely flowers, yes Sue I like this very much.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  34. Hi Sue. Well, this is certainly a very bright coloured card. I must go and have a look at those pearlescent watercolour inks to see what other colours are available. Today's card would be great for a spring birthday. Those rectangle dies make really lovely frames - I must be getting old because I seem to have missed them.
