You're Special To Me

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers!  I have an autumnal sort of card to share with you today.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Rope Chain embossing folder for texture.  Next I cut the Erin die and the Caitlin dies in white and nipped both of them in half.  I cut the Eliza die in black and used it as a base for the cut dies to attach to from behind.  For the focal element, I stamped the Lottie's Sunflower  Stamp To Die For in black and cut it out with the matching Lottie die.  I used distress markers to colour it (antique linen, wild honey, forest moss, crushed olive and spiced marmalade.)  I stamped it a second time, but just coloured the main flower and cut it out by hand and ,mounted it on top with foam.  I stamped my sentiment in the open area and mounted the entire piece in the middle of the card.  I added a wide black mat to the top and bottom of the card, then completed the card with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6" x 8 1/2"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

A beautiful vision of inspiration Sue. I know you say you don't think too much about the way you add colour to your stamp design and you go back and add a touch of colour here and there but when you show the close up's it looks perfect, I just love the way you bring card metal and colour together and show us the beauty of your idea. Thank you for another gorgeous sample xxx

  32. Happy Thanksgiving! This is a nice card but I can’t help thinking that it would be nicer uncoloured and just the dies used, with no stamping. The top die would obviously not be plain but have a lacey look, using the inner part of the Lottie die. I hope you understand what I’m saying!

  36. Hi Sue, Happy Thanksgiving to you and all our American friends, I hope you have a lovely day.
Today you have given us another beautifully designed and coloured card which I love (despite the rather odd shape lol). I don't recall having seen the Rope Chain embossing folder before and it is rather interesting so bears further investigation.

    Have a good day everyone.
