Happy Black Friday all! We are getting down to our last several weeks of double days (and still so many Christmas samples left to show!) Starting out today is one that I did as a demo on Hochanda awhile ago. I started by covering a piece of coconut white card with a sticky adhesive sheet. I peeled the backing off and coated it with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz. Next I taped Phill Martin's mask called Snowflake Trails over it and used the Moonlight Pearl Luna paste through the mask with a palette knife. I removed the mask and allowed it to dry overnight. Next I used the palette knife to spread Moonlight Sky Luna paste over a piece of blue card. I allowed it to dry well, then die cut the Faith die out of it. I cut two more of the Faith die in white and a Eve die in white as well. I used the Eve die as the base and added the two Faith dies out to the sides, then seated the Blue die cut Faith die in the centre. I cut the Merry Christmas sentiment in white and glued it to the centre of the card. I completed the card with white and a thin blue mat that I used a small amount of the blue luna paste around the edge to coordinate with the card. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8 1/4" in size. Scroll down for card number two.
Card number two started with a piece of ruby card and I embossed it with the 3D folder called Natalie's Poinsettias. Next I used the Fire Red Glitter kiss over the top of it to highlight the embossing. I cut the inner die of the Natalie set out of coconut white card. I used mounting foam to attach it inside the embossed area in the centre. I cut two of the Poinsettia Clusters in white, then cut the matching poinsettia out of red card that I had put Red Glitter Kiss on already. I also cut the Warmest Wishes out of the same card and seated it in the middle of the card with a black shadow. I gave the poinsettias a bit of dimension by cutting the petals a little before gluing them into the side clusters. The card was completed with white, red and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Again two beautiful cards for double day, other so lovely. My favourite this week is the first one, love all the gold and sparkle.
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue, I love double days, especially the Christmas ones. Both cards are incredible, but I must say that the 2nd is my favourite. Have a good day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteI like both of these, maybe the second is a little too bright for me but that may be my screen cos I love the poinsettia, the focal point on the first is gorgeous delicate and sparkly xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue.
ReplyDeleteThank you two beautiful cards.
I love them equally, I know who each card could go to.
Take care and have fun Kitty.
Beautiful cards Sue, love them xx hazel
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. It's certainly black out there, not a lover of dark mornings but you've given us two beautiful festive samples to brighten up our morning. I've never ever tried using stencils I've admired so many of your samples and demo's and the other CE guys all confidently using them but I can see myself getting in such a fuddle I'd waste more luscious Lunar paste that's in the container so I'll leave it to the experts and admire from afar. Your first sample is so delicate with the light sparkly background and the centre focal point looks so delicate it almost whispers Happy Christmas - your 2nd sample is bright and lovely with the amazing glitter kiss but with its bold red Christmassy colour it's less of a whisper more of a loud MERRY CHRISTMAS making itself heard and noticed but it's still beautiful and will put the colour of the festive season into anyone's home. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving day yesterday and enjoyed all the calories and laughter that help you celebrate that special day in your year xxx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning Sue. I love both of them.
ReplyDeleteAnnette x
Hello Sue both lovely cards in different ways. I do like the effect of velvet on the red poinsettias, xx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful treat to wake up to a double day! Two gorgeous cards but today it's number two that really catches my eye, such a lovely, striking colour and design. x
Good Morning Sue and all
ReplyDeleteWOW what can I say but YAY it double Friday. Two amazing card this morning Sue and they both look stunning and very different with there style.
I love the details on the first card and the hint of luna paste shinning on the background. I am little hooked after Julia shows.
The second card is just as stunning , the Ruby red card and glitter kiss works beautifully with design of the card. The pop of white really draws the eye in on the design.
Crafty hugs to all ... Wendy
Two beautiful cards-my favourite is the first one. It’s so detailed & subtle-fantastic.

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue and all Wilsonettes, two for the price of one today, what a bargain, yes two really lovely samples, so different but both deserve their day on the blog, thank you so much for sharing with us Sue. I could type out all day how wonderful they are but suffice to say I would cherish receiving either of these as my Christmas card.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Hi Sue - two marvellous cards again and I love the way you have used the lunar paste. Who wouldn't want to receive either one of these! Thank you for more inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYvonneMayxx
Beautiful both of them, but my favourite is the last one :))

ReplyDeleteAnne (Northampton)
No favourite, love them both. Thank you Sue, have a good weekend.xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteOh wow wow wow. How could anyone not be overjoyed to see these 2 beautiful cards. They are amazing.
Love them both. The first is muted and subtle and the second is bright and bold but both are equally delightful. They are joining a long list of cards on my to do eventually list. Really don’t think I have any chance of completing the list but never mind.
I have decided to stop stressing about the fact that I have not made many cards. Off to the Isle of Wight tomorrow for a week and a complete ‘chill’. Hoping that my batteries will be recharged and can enjoy December. My youngest will be 21 and then a small matter of Christmas! Come 2019 (omg 2019) I am aiming to nail the cardmaking big time - a girl can dream!
Not sure if I will be able to comment while away. WiFi ‘iffy’ where we are staying but promise I will make of up to you when I get back Sue x
Happy Friday everyone

Good Morning Sue. Ohhhh my how you spoil us. How can anyone choose a favourite from these two gorgeous cards....in my mind..... it's impossible. They are both beautiful samples. I love magical look of the first one and romantic red one of the second . Once again Thankyou Sue for your continued dedication to your ever loyal followers. Sending best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds
ReplyDeleteThe second one looks like it was released from a curse that regulated it into a checkerboard , and it sprang into its true form, this spectacular arrangement. And some of the reds look like velvet. Wow!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Donita
Wow, wow, wow. I love these cards. I have to say the second card is my favourite. That red is stunning. Lovely to have 2 cards to admire. Hugs MERRY BERRY 2. xxx

Good morning Sue and all Wilsonettes.
ReplyDeleteTWO fantastic cards today and although so different from each other they both cry out "SUE WILSON" They really are beautiful Sue and in the new year I am going to try replicating one or two of your cards instead of drooling over them and thinking "I couldn't do that"
My American Daughter and her Hubby are coming over for a visit on Sunday and will be with me for 10 days so if I don't comment much during that time don't think I've turned up my toes.
Hugs.
Marie P.
Good morning Sue both of these Christmas cards are gorgeous. The colours are so different they both work perfectly. I love all the inspiration on double days. Have a great day. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteAnother great double day and whilst both lovely the second post is my favourite...
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, two beautiful Christmas cards. Both lovely in different ways, so can't pick a favourite.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, two beautiful cards for us to drool over. I love the lightness and sparkle of the first one very much but sadly have no Luna Paste or stencils. The vibrancy of the second one is amazing and I do have all the ingredients to make my version so I am not choosing a favourite today as it would not be fair.
ReplyDeletePP - enjoy your break away and I hope you feel all the better for it.
Frances
Two such different cards from the red traditional to the light and modern. Both are beautiful but if I had to choose it would be the first one. No idea why but this is the one that speaks to me.

Beautiful cards Sue, especially love the red one as I am very fond of red xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. Love both of the cards for different reasons. I saw how you made the background for the first one at Ally Pally and have done it myself. It is much prettier in real life than what you can see in the picture. The read and white one is really stunning, I love that colour combination for Christmas.
