Congrats

Hello all!  I started this one by using the Daisy Trail embossing folder to add texture to a piece of coconut white card for the background.  I matted it with Blue Dusk and black card.  Next I cut two rectangles using the Double Stitched Rectangles out of the same colours to use as a base for the focal element.  I cut the Caroline die in white and backed it with a white backing piece.  I added it to the centre of the rectangles with mounting foam.  I cut the Congrats in both Blue Dusk and black card and used it as a shadow then glued it to the centre of the die.  I made three Pocket Petal flowers out of white and added blue centres and pearls, then mounted them around the focal element.  White, blue dusk and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Hi Sue. I really must add this pretty folder to my collection, you have shown that you don't need a hugh amount of tools to make a pretty card, 4 dies, 1 folder and a smile when you add that final touch its beautiful. Have a happy day xxx

  6. So pretty! The embossed daisy trail, the blue dusk and black as contrast and shadow colors, Caroline all crisp in white, the blue stamens and the big pearls. Makes me think of the movie Meet Me in St. Louis, for some reason. I might have fooled with the position or color of the leaves, which don’t read as leaves and throw the flower off balance. To my eye, anyway.

Can somebody explain purple to me? I can’t find a purple in my Copics, and I don’t know which red and which blue to combine. I know one blue mixes better with yellow and one blue mixes better with red, but which red and which blue? In my haphazard collection of Copics, amethyst seems to be the closest thing to purple. It’s V17.

Here’s to a lovely Thursday for all of us.

    Best,
    Donita

WOW card this morning , I love how the Daisy trail embossing folder works well with the design of the card. The colours on the design of the card are stunning and the hint of black just makes the card pop. The petal pocket flowers finish the card of beautifully which are one of my favourite flower dies.

    Good morning Sue.
Another beautiful card with an eye catching embossed background.
The colours are amongst my favourites too but I don't have the appropriate die. My 'WANT' list gets bigger by the day so I must look through the dies that I have and do a bit of robbing Peter to pay Paul .
    Have a great day.
