Just For You

Hello all!  Today's card shows off a couple of the Stamps To Die For  (STDF) from April.  I started by stamping the Fleur de Lys STDF using Flake and Glitter glue on to black card.  I cleaned the stamp well then gilded it with Gemstones Gilding Flakes and used a piece of rubit scrubit to remove the excess flakes, then die cut it with the matching Phoebe die.  I used the inner cutting die to cut the centre of it out.  I stamped my sentiment on white card and then mounted it behind the opening in the frame.  Next I used the Elegant Damask STDF and used the same gilding flakes and same method, but this time, I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet then glittered it with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz, then cut the shape out with the matching Caroline die.  I mounted the sentiment frame on top of it with foam.  Next I cut an Ava die in white and another Phoebe die, this time out of white card.  I cut it in half and mounted it to the sides of the Ava die and seated the gilded dies in the centre.  Behind the dies, I thought I would give the card a torn and curled background to add some interest and just for something different.  I completed the card with a white on white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Hello Sue and all
An amazing card, the gilding flakes make it look so rich and the combination of dies is lovely. I only have the Ava die out of these but you have inspired me to try something like this with the frames and tags dies that I have.
    Hugs

  2. This is so very interesting! With all the elaborate shapes, and the cutting and stamping and gilding flake sticking and scrubbing, what catches the eye is the torn and curled paper!

Thank you for shaking us up!

    Best to all,

  11. A grungy centre which I love but think I would have preferred the background to be darker as the contrast for me is too much. Great work though regardless. Xxx

  31. It is a shame that the gorgeous colours of this gilding flake (which is my favourite alongside a discontinued one) is not shown to its best in any photo. I am sure that seeing the real card would capture anyone’s heart.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes.
A very different card today Sue. I think it takes me a little bit out of my comfort zone, but perhaps that's a good thing in our crafty world.
    Thank you for the wake-up.

Love the stamped and gilded focal area and not sure that the torn and curled edges don’t detract from that but that’s just me liking everything neat and tidy

  40. Morning Sue, love the torn edge effect. I tried this once but I think that my card was too thick because instead of looking 'aged', it looked just like a ripped and 'scruffy' piece which went in the bin.
Gilding flakes are so pretty. Hugs xx Pauline in S.A.

  52. This card just doesn't strike me right. I think its because the focal is so dark and then all the white. I don't mind any of the components on their own.I must agree with Kate.A darker, more shabby chic background would have pleased me more with the focal die.
You make so many gorgeous cards and I very rarely don't go crazy for them, just not this one.
