Good Sunday Morning all! I thought I had posted this one, but turns out it has missed it's day on the blog, so I am rectifying it now! I started by cutting an aperture in a piece of coconut white card using the Cascading Hearts die set. Next I headed to my rather large box of offcuts and pulled out several shades of pink and deep maroon and cut them into 3/4" strips and glued them on to another piece of card. I raised the aperture with mounting foam, then added it over my striped background piece. I cut an outline for my aperture in black gloss card and white card and left a small white shadow on it. Out of black gloss card, I added the mini expressions Just Wanted To Say and Miss You around the Cascading Heart aperture. White and black mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a lovely sentiment die set you have used on this sample, it says it all doesn't it. I also like the way you have used up some scrap and made it into 2 tone background on the hearts, genius.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue - I remember seeing a sample of this die before and thinking how lovely it was. Such a great way to use up leftover paper too. Sending best wishes

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd seen this one before, but obviously not! I really like how you've used up some of your scraps to create the two tone background to fill the apertures. Love the cascading hearts die it makes such a clean and simple ( but striking) card that looks really modern and fresh. Love and hugs to all, Alison xx
Morning Sue. Whenever I see this die whether it's here or on Julia's blog it always looks beautiful no matter what's been used as it's background. I'm feeling quite 'crafty' or should I admit to feeling smug lol as I love this kind of umbre look and have used it on your 'THANKYOU' Striplet die, either two tone or several of the same shade but going from dark to pale always looks so pretty or just great for men cards in shades of blues or browns so I'm loving that you given this beautiful sample its day here to be loved and complimented, thanks Sue and have an enjoyable day xxx
ReplyDeleteWonderful card Sue x xhazel
ReplyDeleteStunning card! Love that cascade of hearts!
ReplyDeleteLove this card, so special. Thank you Sue, xxx.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue. What a brilliant way to use up those pieces. I have a boxful too Sue as I am sure we all do. It's gotten so I dare not throw any away for fear of having to cut into another full piece just for maybe a 5 centimetre bit. Oooooo we crafters are very tight where the card is concerned. Today's sample is lovely Sue and I love this die but never thought about the different shades underneath. Thankyou Sue. Sending best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.
