Hi crafters! Cut a piece of coconut white card and using the Heart Strings embossing folder, emboss this piece to add texture to the background. Mat with a slightly larger piece of black card and set aside. On a separate piece of coconut white card, sprinkle Emerald Green, Lava Red and Candy Pink Pixie Powders all over the sheet. Spritz with water to activate the powders. Either allow them to dry naturally or use a heat tool to speed up the process. From this sheet, die cut the open flowers from the Passion Flower die set. You will need several of each of the sizes, approx. 10 in total. Cut the corresponding sizes of the decorative flower out of coconut white card and glue them together so the pixie powdered piece shows through. Add mounting foam to the backs of each piece them arrange them on your background from the upper left corner across the card to the lower right corner. Out of coconut white card, cut additional leaves of all sizes from the flower set and add in around the flowers as desired. Cut the Thank you mini expression die out of black card and glue to the open area of the background in the upper right area of the card. Complete the card with a white paper pierced mat, a thin black mat and a final coconut white card mat. The finished dimensions are 6 ¾” x 8 ¾” in size. All for now, Sue x

Simple, pretty, lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card, love the colourful flowers - I've just bought the Heart Strings folder and although I don't yet own the Passionflowers I think the Pinwheel floral dies might work just as well on this design and I've made lots of PP backgrounds just lately so will be trying this later on today...thanks for the inspiration...
Izzy

Good Morning Sue. Beautiful card Sue just love it. I was lucky enough to win this set on th a last launch. And honestly it's a beautiful set. The pixies are doing their job here as well. Hope you enjoyed Ally Pally Sue.... rest time now ehh. Sending best wishes to everyone. We have a little bit of mist this morning but when it clears we could see some sunshine hopefully. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds
ReplyDeleteWow! What a pretty card! And what could be simpler! OK, simple but not easy, because of all the flower cutting. I was putting Passion Flowers together recently and noticed that if you cut the itty bitty pieces from the same paper that you're using for the inside color, and add two to the center of each flower, you get more color coverage.
ReplyDeleteI love the Heartstrings EF. It's especially gorgeous on paper colored with pink gilding polish. Speaking of which, the insides of the flowers would be gorgeous cut from paper that was colored with gilding polish, especially Phill Martin's new colors.
Hoping to hear how Ally Pally was and if any of us met any others of us while watching Sue do demos.
Best to all,
Donita
Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card, love the flowers.

Good Morning, Sue
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty card this morning.
The lovely Passion Flower die looks extra special in your chosen Pixie Powder colours.
I was so disappointed not to make Ally Pally yesterday. Unfortunately, the local Coach Company did not put on a coach trip for the Show this time.
Hope you are able to take some time out to relax this week!

Hello Sue
ReplyDeleteLovely card today I am a great fan of your floral dies and have most of them so I can't believe I am saying this but I think I would use a few less flowers when recreating this card.
Donita I like your ideas I to miss the banter from everyone meeting up at ally pally.

Hi Sue, a very pretty card and I love the Passion Flowers with the pixie powdered background. I think I may try this with alcohol inks and some sparkle to get a similar effect.
ReplyDeleteI hope the week-end at Ally Pally went well for you, it would seem that all those that were able to go had a good time. I know you will probably be still buzzing but it would be good if you could give yourself a wee break to rest up a bit.
Frances
Hi Sue, a gorgeous card. I love the string of hearts embossed background and the beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue
ReplyDeleteGorgeous - just a little bit of bling provided by my beloved pixies x
I am always so over excited and work on the concept that more is more when I play with my pixies. This card proves that things don't have to be as bold and bright as is usually my goal when I get my pixies out! Subtle is good - you know me though - subtle is not one of my fortes - lol x
Has anyone had a play with the new shimmer shakers yet? Or did any of you lucky Ally Pally visitors see any demos of these intriguing new additions to the Creative Expressions family? I am dying to see them in action x
Very wet today - ideal opportunity to lose myself amongst glue and glitter but still wading my way through the washing after my holiday. Really must get down to some serious crafting.
Surely a goal of just one card a day is achievable - is it not? Then how come it is April already and I think my card total so far for 2018 is still in single fingers? Sue Wilson I am not but please give me some reassurance folks that I am not the only one with good intentions but lack of action??!!!
My stash is immense and almost redundant at the moment yet I still have a burning desire to spend any spare cash I have on all things crafty. Obviously I do hold Sue mostly responsible for this addiction. If she did not keep bringing us such fabulous new dies and demonstrating things so brilliantly I would be fine. And anyone who has seen the new dies which will be featured in what must be the imminent launch will know exactly what I mean x
OK so my crafty rant is now finished. Sending lots of love to all specially missing friends x
Crafty hugs

Hi Sue, whilst I didn't get to Ally Pally this weekend, I did receive my Passion Flower die on Saturday. Couldn't believe that you've posted this beautiful card which actually uses the flowers.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I haven't got the string of hearts embossing folder (yet) but I will be giving this idea a go.
Hope you had a successful weekend. Hugs xx Pauline
