Inspire

Good Sunday morning!  Another really quick card that uses the wonderful Crackle Glaze from Creative Expressions.  I started with a piece of black card and painted the crackle glaze on to it with a wide paint brush.  I allowed it to dry well, then added Matte White Chalk Paint with a tad of Metallic Lustre Chocolate Gold paint to change the colour.  You simply need to coat the mixture with a paint brush and before you can even clean your paintbrush, the crackle process is underway!  I allowed it to dry well then cut it into three wide strips.  I used the edge of my scissors to distress the edges of the strips then added mounting foam to them.  I added them to a slightly larger piece of milk card and distressed the edges of it with my scissors too.  I cut the Industrial Chic Frame out of milk card and used Antique Linen distress ink while it was still in the die.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it in the lower corner.  I had a small piece of the crackled background left over so I cut the word Inspire from the Inspirational Word die set out of it and glued it into the frame. From the Industrial Chic Butterfly & Dragonfly die set,  I added a butterfly inked with Antique linen to the upper corner.  Milk mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Now this card made me smile - just when we think we know Sue Wilson you come up with something so completely different!...love that background, I haven't yet tried the Crackle Glaze but remember doing lots of these a few years ago using PVA glue but it sounds like the Glaze is quicker to dry and I really like that you saved a little piece to cut the Inspire from - it really shows off the debossed detail beautifully...

Loving this card. Industrial chic/shabby chic/grunge/whatever you want to call it - so cool x
Brilliant technique for all those lovely man and boy cards that we all love making! I have crackle glaze - it was something else you forced me to buy after demonstrating it so brilliantly on HOCHANDA. I think a session of crackling backgrounds needs to go on to my to do list. Mind you things often make it to my to do list and that is as far as they get! It is more like a stay put and think about it list. It is a long list x
Back yesterday after week in the heavenly Isle of Wight. Internet was less than sporadic hence my lack of comments. Just had quick look the weeks cards and as always they are all worthy of a frame in a gallery - specially loving the stained glass cards x
Comments are much more time consuming to catch up on so apologies for my lack of up to date knowledge fellow Wilsonettes. That said -
Jacqui - big ouch!!! You poor thing. That sounds incredibly painful. But like you say they will be able to fix you. Always thought of a stairlift as a roller coaster for us non teens and less able bodied - take care x
Having seen your new dies Sue I am so excited to see you wave your crafty wand. Also relieved to see the launch was not under way. You obviously waited til I was back in circulation - after all I am your favourite, lol x
Hope you are having the best time at AP despite my not being there. I know how much you love it x

  47. Lots more love for industrial chic this time around.
Let's see if I've got this: For crackle, you start with paper the color you want showing through the cracks. The glaze goes on first, and once it's dry, the other colors go on.
I like the rusty look with Industrial Chic, but variety is nice.
    Best to all,
    Donita

    Hello Sue.
A very different card today and although the crackle background looks good I think it might be beyond my level of competence as I haven't yet mastered the art of stamping.
I hope your shoulder heals soon Jacqui. I chuckled when Yvonne said the stair-lift reminded her of a roller coaster as if yours is as slow as mine it's more like a snail drive.
