Summer Rose Card
Hi bloggers! I am showing the letterpressing technique in today's video. The Summer Rose Frame is absolutely perfect for this technique and it is not difficult to do either.
The finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size. All for now, Sue x
I know this is the Summer Rose Frame but it feels like Springtime with the lovely lavender and green colors. Lovely design and the little bit of sparkle just makes it perfect.
Morning Sue, a really lovely card and great video. I did not know that this letterpress technique would work so well with dies, another one to try. Have a great day everyone. Bx
So this is the letterpress technique! I wondered how you got the color down deep into the paper and left the veins and lines white. Thanks for showing us. Yes, it's lovely.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a beautiful card today, love the lavender and green colours you have chosen. Will watch the video in a minute whilst I have my breakfast. Hope all is well with you, I tried to get to Ally Pally on Saturday but our satnav took us all wrong, the upshot was that after 3.5 hours we decided to turn around and go home, it is about 50 miles from where we live yet we drove around for over 200, you can imagine we were both exhausted and I never got to see you, I was gutted but there wasn't anything I could do. We did see a lot of London though, but everywhere now is 20 miles per hour.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Lovely card Sue. Well saw the surgeon yesterday had a ct scan, my shoulder is in six pieces. They are all in place so have to see how they begin healing for another two weeks to see if I need surgery. Thanks for all the warm thoughts.
Hi Sue - your card is so pretty and I love the delicate colours. The video makes the letterpressing look so easy so I'm definitely going to try this technique as the finished result is amazing. Sending best wishes YvonneMayxx
Hi Sue and lovely wilsonettes x Beautiful card Sue x Thankyou so much for the video too as although I watched you demo this on hochanda I can't record the shows so really appreciate you making the video as I love the results x June so sorry you didn't make ally pally x we don't live far in mileage away either but still takes us 2 hours ! Our sat nav always wants to take us right through london but we find it easier to go round x hope you make it in September x Take care everyone x Theresa w in Berks xxx
What a lovely delicate, spring like card. Those colours work so well & this die really lends itself to the letterpress technique. Thank you Sue for showing us the video, must go & see which of my dies will work like this. Only done this with embossing folders before.
The perfect card to showcase the letterpress technique and I see from her comment that Donita has already watched it!...lol...love that new embossing folder too...
Jacqui - SIX pieces!!...unbelievable - you really did some damage there...hopefully they will all knit back together by themselves...
Hi Sue this is a stunning card I love it. I will be back to watch the video later. I always enjoy those. Have a great day today. Take care. Hugs Jackie
Good Morning Sue. I have just watched your video....This is beautiful and Thankyou for showing us what letter pressing is. I have heard of this but never seen it done before. I really must try this....but then again you make everything look so easy.... even down to extending the embossing folder. Sending best wishes to everyone this very miserable dark morning. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds
WOW card this morning , its so beautiful. Thank you so much for the doing the video. I am going to pop the kettle on and watch. Crafty hugs and well wishes to all... Wendy
Good morning Sue Oh what a beautiful card thank you for the video you make everything look so easy I have the rose frame so will have a go at this June what a shame you didn't make it your Ally Pally it must have been really frustrating sometimes sat bags can drive you mad they do want to take you on ridiculous routes on times! Stephanie I hope you are OK we haven't seen you comment recently Sending good wishes to all
Hello Sue and all Prettycard today, lovely colours and so feminine. Video is great, all so easy after watching your demo, I must apologise for not realising the letterpress technique a few days ago was with firs not embossing folder and leading Donita astray. June, that must have been so disappointing not making it to Ally Pally. Jacqui, I hope you heal well and don’t need surgery - you did a thorough job ! Hugs Muriel x
Hi Sue, what a pretty card. Another lovely embossing folder too. I've never had a go at letter pressing but after watching your video I will most definitely be having a go. Sorry to hear about your problem when trying to get to A P June. I would have been gutted too. Hugs to everyone. XX Pauline
Hi Sue Thanks for the great video and the card is very pretty June what a shame you didn't get to AP after driving all that way Steph hope you're ok, you've been missing for almost a week now
Terrific card Sue Sorry to read JUNE didn’t make it to AP We live fairly close by and sat nav never seems to take us on the same route twice I would suggest that sometimes it’s easier to get the train to AP It’s a fairly easy walk and they run shuttle buses to the venue immediately outside the station
Lovely card, especially like the letter pressing and the colours you’ve chosen. They work really well together.
Jacqie, such a bad break. Hope it all begins to heal properly in place so you don’t need surgery. X
Pam, such a shame about you missing Ally Pally. Sat Navs not always useful are they? We ‘wasted’ over 2 hours recently trying to find somewhere in Leeds. Like you we gave up in the end. Hope you can make it in September.x
Love this card. I will watch the video a bit later. I love your videos and have not done a letterpress in a while. Hope Ally Pally was a success and fun. June, so sorry that your GPS went bonkers on you. I want to go to Ally Pally so badly but will have to get to England first (ha). One of my friends and I are actually talking about it for next spring.I may have to find a hotel very close then. Jacqui, 6 pieces. Ouch! Seems like surgery would be required but shoulders are tricky. I do hope you mend quickly. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday, Stephanie K SC/USA
Hello Sue Great video Sue this die is growing on me. Jacqui no wonder you have been in so much pain.I also noticed that Stephanie has been absent for a few days which is unlike her.Yvonne don't want to make you feel bad but I have already made 8 Christmas cards I fell in love with Sue's Christmas parcel stamp so ordered it after Christmas while it was on special offer and now can't stop colouring.
Hi Sue, a lovely card using two of my favourite colours. Thank you for the detailed video, I am sure it has helped those who were unsure of the letterpress technique. Love the embossing folder also.
I too am concerned about Steph, her last comment on Thursday was very brief. I do hope that she is ok.
Hi Sue and everyone, Gorgeous card and thank you for the tutorial. It was nice to see you Sunday and I was pretty stumped you remembered my name. It was really nice also to see so many friends.
June, hope you find your way there in Sept. Jacqui, hopefully you won't need any op. take care. Do anyone know anything about Pam ? do miss her. Hope you all had a good day. Warm hugs to all and extras for anyone who need some. Maria x
Evening Sue and all I completely fell in love with this when you were on HOCHANDA. It is such a pretty card and I remember thinking that the technique was something I could probably manage x The boys bought me the One Day Special which included this die so I have no excuse for not making this very card! Well my intentions are good x June - how frustrating. Can I just check - has your Sat Nav a man or a woman's voice? Mine is all woman and got to say is very reliable. Fingers crossed for September - the train is very easy. I used to drive but got the train last September - so simple x Jacqui - 6???!!! Oooohhh!!! No wonder it hurt x Crewe Trish - thanks for the salt rubbing. Lol. Well done you - I am impressed x OK people wherever you are and whatever you are doing I am sending lots of love - specially to missing friends x Crafty hugs PP Yvonne x
Elegant and feminine card. Love the soft colors and the design. Even you explained everything about letterpress technique in this great video I am not sure if I really understood (I have same question like Donita). I don't have the Summer Rose Frame or a similar die to try. This technique is a must try.
Hugs from Toronto to you all and special hugs to all missing friends. Still a newbie to Craft / not longer the newest, or the only across the pond Wilsonette Carmen-Dorothy
