Dream

Hello there my crafty friends!  Today's card is a really striking cityscape card.  I just love how the pixie powders look in the background, don't you!  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Infinity Loops embossing folder.  Next I made a background using Midnight Blue and Aqua Lagoon pixie powders and allowed it to dry well.  I cut a circle out of it to use as my background, then cut my cityscape out of white gloss card.  I layered them up with mounting foam and added them to my pixied circle.  I cut the moon using the small circle from the City Skyline set and then cut it in half again to create a crescent moon and glued it in the sky.  I added the cityscape to a black gloss circle cut from the Double Pierced Noble Circles and attached it to my background with foam.  Next I cut the word dream from the Inspirational Word die set out of the same pixied piece.  I cut one more out of black card and used it as a shadow behind before mounting the word on the bottom portion of the background.  White and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  8" in size.  I am not offering a Wednesday card giveaway this week as we will be starting the April die release here tomorrow morning.  Don't fret though, there will be loads of dies given away in the coming week or so at the end of the launch!  All for now, Sue x

  2. Hello Sue and all

Striking card ! Love the pixie background and the words using it as well. With the alphabet set you could put any words to suit, the black shadows really make it all pop.

Looking forward to the release too, must admit to having had a sneak peek and can't wait to see your samples using some pretty fabulous looking die sets, in fact I have preordered a couple already, one perfect for my grandsons birthday next month.

Hugs to all and missing friends

  19. What a cinematic card! Drama in sky, and a bright moon lighting up the city.
I can almost see the kid with the fishing pole, his legs dangling off the moon like in the Dreamworks logo.

Never tire of my favourite sparkly powders. I still have a pile of backgrounds from when I had an intense pixie-ing session. I like to just look at them they are all so pretty even where I have used just one colour. When you use 2/3 or even 4 of the colours together the end result is so amazingly satisfying. Still waiting for some one to give me the inside scoop on the new shimmer shakers x
Beside myself with anticipation for the new launch. Having seen the new dies I know we are in for an amazing blogathon. Lots of variety and happy dies as well as useful and pretty additions - excited - me - oh yes x

A great cityscape. The Midnight Blue and Aqua Lagoon pixie powders make a great sky. I think I will play with these colors of pixie powder today for a couple background layers to have on hand. I hope I remember to wear my gloves today so I don't have blue hands. Thanks for sharing your ideas. Looking forward to your latest release of products. I caught a preview on Julia's site of your beautiful dies and stamps. And I am pleased to say there are numberous dies I just must have in my collection.
