Under The Weather

Hi bloggers!  I have to admit, this one is for me today!  I have been battling the dreaded first cold of the new year and it has been a doozie!   I am pleased to say, that I have finally turned the corner and I am now on the mend, but I was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to get here! LOL  On to the card, I started by creating a background for the tree.  On coconut white card, I used one of the clouds as a stencil and sponged Tumbled Glass distress ink over it while moving it around.  I added a few die cut clouds on top from the Rain or Shine set.  I cut the Majestic Tree next, cutting the trunk out of tan card, then lightly sponging Vintage photo over it and the tree head out of green card (from my stash) .  I lifted the leaves upwards and glued the trunk on top, then into the centre of the background.  I used the Garden Gate set to cut an extended fence and glued it in front of the tree.  I cut a wide white frame using the Double Pieced Noble Squares, added mounting foam and attached it over the scene.  I added more of the fence to the top of the frame like it had been continued out of the scene.  I also added a single cloud and the sentiment was cut out of sky blue card and added to the top of the frame.  White on white mats and layers completed the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Elaine, you must be so frustrated at the lack of progress from Andrews care team. I hope this situation is rectified very soon for him and he is in less pain. You know you have my total support, you can email me at home to chat if you want to when you have time. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family .hugs to you and Andrew.
Helen I'm glad you are well enough to make a card, it was a complicated relationship wasn't it.
Littlelamb I renewed my licence online too, it was so easy.
Donita, happy days ahead fir you holiday ung with your dad in Florida, enjoy yourselves.
I had a callback from the Admissions Sister yesterday, she has transferred me to another surgeons list, her go-to surgeon. I need to see him in clinic so sending an appointment then we can move forward. I think that is progress, Howrah.
Steph, hope Andy is feeling better, hope you don't get the dreaded virus too.
Take care everyone, stay warm and well. Hugs to all, esoecially our many poorly and missing friends.

  10. Hi Sue. Sorry to read you've been so unwell. This beast has caught so many people by surprise and literally floored them, having no immune system due to the strong meds I take these nasty bugs really frighten me but life is life and there is no escape of they want you they get you, but I'm equally pleased to read your slowly getting there, it's not nice to think that our bubbly Sue has lost her bubbles, but this sample has made our poorly friend's feel a little better I'm sure of that, but you can all keep your blog bugs to yourselves thank you very much πŸ’–
talking of which I hear movement from my own bug beast bless him !
Unfortunately due to the beast entering our home my time has been taken up with filling hot water bottles, heating wheat bags and sympathetic smiles and no crafting, so this gorgeous tree is still waiting to be planted on to card so I enjoyed watching Lisa play the past few days with this lovely die. It's a good job you make so many samples Sue, so at least I hope the pressure was lifted for you and that days get brighter and better soon that goes out to all you poorly blog buddies.
Sending extra big hugs (from a distance) and lots of bug free love xxx

  85. Hi Sue,
So glad you've finally gotten the better of the severe cold (bet it was more like flu!) and you're ON THE MEND.. Let's hope that this is it for this year!
I love the card, that tree is fabulous. I really don't know how you come up with all these ideas but I'm glad you do.
    Hugs, Rose
