Let It Snow

Hello there my crafty friends!  Still more Christmas cards to share before the big day, so hoping you don't mind!  This card was a demo that I had planned to do on Hochanda, but actually never had time for it.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and cut an aperture in the top using the Lace Snowflake Frame.  I cut one of the Snowflake Edgers on the bottom edge of the card.  I cut a second edger and glued it to the card above it.  I added a string of white pearls as an accent to it  (I had meant to add another strip of pearls to the bottom snowflake edger and realised that I was out of white ones, oh well!).  I added mounting foam to the back of the background to raise it and attached it over a piece of aqua card, which I had added a piece of sticky adhesive sheet to the upper area. I recessed the snowflake down into the aperture, and added Diamond Sprinkles to the remaining exposed adhesive areas.  I cut the centre die in aqua card and added it to the centre of the aperture with foam.  I cut the Let it Snow Snowflake die in white and glued it atop the aqua card in the centre.  I added two white  pearl corners to the top of the card and completed it with white and aqua mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  4. Good Morning Sue. Absolutely gorgeous card. I love this snowflake die and the colours are beautifully thought out. Pale green and blue are my favourite colours anyway so it has to have my approval.
Up early this morning it is my line dance class Christmas party this afternoon. So much to do sorting Christmas music, all their cards. Pass the parcel Ohhh and we all have to take a little something to eat. You would think by the way this reads that it was for children.... Well I can tell you we are all over 60 and our oldest member is 93 ! ! !. And how well does she dance. I hope I am still dancing at that age.I am really looking forward to it. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

  6. Morning Sue. Another Monday brings us another week closer to the 'big day' to think one day of fun and laughter started in April for you Sue, some started preparing in the summer and others still not prepared lol I'm towards the not prepared scale and now I've finished market for the year I can concentrate on a few cards that have been on hold for a while ! I think I'm just about thawed out after yesterday's waste of time and fuel, the weather was awful so the country park was not the place to spend your Sunday when you can stay snuggled up in a nice warm home, so we all suffered the freezing cold (even inside where I have my table was beyond ridiculous ) so those poor people outside must have been frozen to their bone marrow ! A few cards sold, a reduced fee for the table so I still came out on top - just about lol.
I think, no I know, I could look at your samples whether or not it 'twas the season' as they are all so pretty, but today's is just lush, the colour is another favourite, the dies are the ones that headed my list and still will before the next festive collection arrives so all in all its a beautiful start to my week, thank you.
Hope you had a lovely weekend however it was spent.
Love and hugs winging their way to you xxx

Pam, you are so generous to bring one of your made-with-love Christmas cakes to the office. I would stand in line for just a taste. Poor Dave, he's probably lonely most of the day.

Thank you Marie from Longridge for introducing the idea of Crafty Santa, a concept that makes me happy. I believe in Crafty Santa! Until now I never understood why we needed sentiments that say Believe.

  75. Hello Sue,

Such a beautiful snowflake card today using one of my favorite dies. The snowflake is so delicate and fragile looking, just like the real ones as they fall gently from the sky. The color combination is sort of frosty and icy looking and compliments the die cuts perfectly. I have made several cards this year using these dies. I have a large box of Christmas cards that I will be taking Johns Hopkins Hospital (my second home) to give out to the patients who don't receive many visitors over the holiday just so they know that they are not forgotten.

    Have a nice day everyone.

Beverly Fuchs - what a lovely thing to do! There are many lonely people for whom an act of kindness means such a lot .
Carmen - Dorothy , I understand how you feel! I love looking at snow but hate having to move around in it!
I, too, am very guilty of making a card/ cards but not doing the inserts! This then takes a lot of time afterwards! I am going to try not to do this next year, all being well!
Stephanie - yesterday we went to a Restaurant in Egerton, near Bolton and it was an awful day. Wet and cold! I did think that you were bound to be freezing and I know it isn’t good for you to get cold. Sorry your Market day wasn’t the best . Your Christmas Table sounds lovely!

What a beautiful card Sue. It has a sort of peaceful feel to it. I have never used the strip pearls but will certainly buy some to add to my almost overflowing craft room stash.
Hard to believe that at this time next week Christmas day activities will be carefully put into the memory box.
