Good Sunday morning all! I have a fun cheeky monkey card to share today. I started by cutting three apertures using the
Double Pierced Circles, offsetting them across the coconut white card. I made three frames using the next die size up from the aperture size. I added mounting foam to them added them around the apertures. I cut three monkeys from the
Cheeky Monkey die set out tan card and used
Worn Lipstick on the mouth, ears and tummies. I used
Vintage photo for the noses. I added the monkeys with mounting foam into each of the apertures so they were all going different directions. I cut some vines out of a couple of shades of green card and added them around the monkeys for accents. The sentiment was cut out of tan card several times and stacked up for dimension. I glued it into the lower corner. The card was completed with white on white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue. I remember smiling at this sample on the day you launched these dies. It bought childhood memories to the surface which I shared that day so won't repeat myself. It's the kind of design that will attract people to the market table so its a complete winner for me, and on the list 'my keeper' has that never stops growing, it's so frustrating having a birthday so close to the festivities as I'm being kept hanging around waiting in anticipation to see if it's part of my gift (see what I did then) lol so whether I receive it as a gift or a treat to myself, I look forward to using it one day hopefully soon ☺

Morning Sue, they really are cheeky little monkeys that make you smile. We have seen quite a few real 'cheeky monkeys/baboons ' on our travels here. One baby was sitting on his mother's back clutching an empty plastic bottle and staring at us as we waited for them to pass in front of the car.

Good Morning Sue. Such a great fun card today Sue. I remember when this was shown on the launch I was on holiday in lovely warm Turkey..... and boy do I wish I was back there this morning......it's freezing here. I think this would make lovely children's cards and invitations.
ReplyDeleteI watched the remembrance service last night and June like you I had tears in my eyes. All those lives lost. ....but I have to say, my tears were of sadness and relief at the same time. Sadness for the ones that didn't make it home and for their family's. And relief for myself and my family that my son did come home. He did two tours in northern Ireland then He was posted to Iraq in the first gulf war. A terrifying time for me and my husband. He went on to serve 25 years in the army he worked his way up and came out as a sergeant major. We will be so proud of him this morning when he goes to our local little church wearing his medals in support of his comrades in all conflicts.
We will remember.

Like others I also watched the Remembrace Ceremony last night with a lot of tears - it's always the Chelsea Pensioners and the Last Post that gets me! We have so much to be grateful for to so many. I'll be watching the Centotaph ceremony this morning watching the march past with all those people proudly wearing their medals and listening to my favourite piece of classical music Nimrod. We will remember them 🌺

Johns Dad was in the Somme battle, so many lost their lives on the first day he was lucky to get back home after losing a leg and nearly his life because of the poor medical care .
