Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is one that I made with the fallaway pieces from one of the dies!  Can you guess which one?  I started by embossing the background with the Brambled Rose folder and using White Pearl Lustre gilding polish over the top of it.  Next I cut a smaller piece of Blue Dusk card and added a sticky adhesive sheet to it.   I peeled the backing off and added the fallaway piece from the centre of the Rippled Striplet (did you guess it?)  Doesn't it make a nice background design?  I coated the exposed adhesive with Diamond Sprinkles.  I matted it with a white and a black mat and attached it to the centre of the card with mounting foam.  Next I cut the centre of the Atlantic Ocean Background die in black and matted it with Blue Dusk card and cut the centre out.  I turned the frame on the diagonal and mounted it with foam.  I cut the centre of the  Atlantic Ocean Background in black and glued it into lace in the middle of the card.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it  with the Stitched flags die, adding a small butterfly to the end of it.  I placed two more butterflies around the edge and finished the card with a couple of sugared flowers seated on a black satin ribbon bow in the corner.  White, black and blue dusk card mats and layers were added last.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment on this post to be included in the drawing to win this one.  All for now, Sue x

Cheryl, you have wirked so hard on Fetes, Theatre and everything else I think feet up,bowl of strawberries and a glass of champers watching the tennis is well deserved. Enjoy ...
Elaine, it's not easy to explain on a form, why can't they see the problem. Good luck. Hope Mary is feeling more comfortable today.
Risemary, it us a long wait fir the results but as has been said that could be a good thing. Try not to get anxious, it won't help.
I'm okay, still haven't got prescription yet, will ring again today to see if letter there from hospital. One of my team overhear. My manager and HO whispering,so rude in front of staff, my name was mentioned and more cabinet moves. I'm going to have a word with someone as I think it is getting beyond a joke now.
P Austen, have a lovely stay in Wales, hope your weather is good.
Laine and Yvonne, hope the eye problems are easing, get better soon girls.

    Hi Sue,
it's a WOWSER! I just love the colours, design and didn't realise (up to now) what a lovely background the fallaway from the striplet makes. What a brilliant way to use it! And what with sparkles and polishes it's right up my street.

  12. Morning Sue. Now this is what I call a Sue card, it's simply beautiful. To think that one gorgeous Striplet fall out has made the background is brilliant, what a wonderful crafty brain you own, wish to share a small particle with me please ?
There are the cards I really adore, every little piece is just perfection, whoever is lucky enough to be the eventual owner will spend all day just looking at it from every lovable angle as I did when I was a lucky Wednesday winner, I'll never forget how I felt when I opened that envelope and held my gift - wow ☺
So a very special thank you for these gifts you give us. And a really BIG hug, not bug hug is on its way xxx

  20. Good morning Sue. Beautiful card. You have a very delicate touch with the gilding polish, and it's lovely to see sugared flowers again. All your shows are set to record in case anyone dares to talk whilst you're on!
Pam, you definitely need to talk to someone, this situation just can't go on. If the bosses are hovering, just drop in the words " constructive dismissal" to a conversation with a trusted colleague. Someone I work with told me to make a file, make sure it had a high KB, password protect it, and name it " evidence of bullying", just to put the bosses in a panic mode!
Elaine, can you send someone pictures of the access point that's the problem, or even better get someone to video you struggling to get in - then tell the housing office that you'll send it to the local news if they aren't prepared to deal with the problem. Hugs to all. Sue xxx

What a beautiful card this morning, I was looking around to see if I could spot the use of waste from a die, admiring the backing paper which must have come from a new paper pad we haven't yet seen and blow me down that's the waste!! It makes a gorgeous backing Sue, who would have known. Thank you for sharing that tip and a delightful card.

  55. Dear Sue and Crafty Ones and Wannabees,

What an unusual card! Yes I guessed but the name escaped me, and the closest I could come was Channel Striplet. I like that die best as a background when it's cut like this, with the fats together and the skinnies together, so you get an hourglass figure, rather than with the fats bulging into the skinnies so you get a curving channel.

So can anyone say what flowers these are? Are they the striped nasturtiums without the stripes? And then dipped in Diamond Snow? What about the leaves? Are those the chrysanthemum leaves? Anybody?

Just for the record, the butterflies are from the Cascading Butterflies, right?

Pam, I can't imagine a system in which you have to suffer another month before your prescription can be filled. How do you guys cope? It also seems like your side of the pond has to wait a long time for a funeral, too. Seems like the country could catch up if there were more funeral homes. Is the problem that no one wants to be an undertaker these days?

Oh dear, I need a lighter note to end on. Oh! Justin Trudeau is going to be right across the street from where I work at some point this week. The summer gathering of the National Governors Association will be in Providence, and Trudeau is giving the keynote speech. Vice President Mike Pence will also be there, but with Trudeau in town, who cares about any old U.S. Vice President?

I keep hoping our president will go on a state visit to Russia and defect. Just joking! All the cool presidents can take a joke!

Good luck to all those hoping to win this card.

Thanks, P in Wales, for teaching me the term "gutted." Sounds messy, like field-dressing a deer, not tidy like making a smaller panel from mirror card that would just be wasted when you only need a narrow edge of mirror to show around the outside. It seems like plain card should go in there to fill in the thickness of what you took out in the tidy gutting.

I guess if you already know what I'm trying to say, you can tell what I'm saying. And I call myself a writer! Here's something I learned about writing. It's not enough to make your writing possible to understand; you have to make it impossible to misunderstand. Which is almost as hard as getting good results with Pixie Powders!

    Love to everyone,

  106. This beautiful fall away card has made me fall head over heels in love! Great texture and I love that you have used the "throw away" pieces instead of tossing them out! I save all mine and love using them for some unique cards! TFS!

  113. Hello Sue,
First of all apologies for being AWOL!! We were in Anglesey last week - Tuesday to Tuesday and the Internet wasn't always playing ball!
So much to catch up with and TV Programmes too!! I've just watched the 8pm one and it was great. Will watch the 6pm on Catch up!
Today's card is absolutely gorgeous and right up my street!!! I love it! Love everything about it. Using the waste in this way is so clever!
I have tried to read and catch up but I've probably forgotten most of it!
However , Pam , I'm sorry to read you are still having problems at work!
PatL - glad you have your family back home! What about your " flower ladies " who went to exotic shores! Are they home too? Hope they brought you something nice!
Yvonne and Laine - wow , you have been in the wars! I'm so sorry . Well done Laine's Mum !! Hope you have been able to watch Sue even with your dark glasses! Have you recorded the Shows? Sending love to both of you.
Will try to catch up with more later!
Love to all, Myra ( Friend of Maureen!) xxx
