Hello bloggers! Today's card giveaway is a sample that I made with the latest release. I started with a piece of coconut white card and embossed it with the Dahlia Garden embossing folder for texture. I used the Silver Dream Gilding Polish over the top of it to pick up the detail and give the background a nice shimmer. I added a thin border to the top and bottom edges of the card by cutting the Blossom Edger in Cobalt blue twice and backing them with silver card. For the focal element, I cut the decorative die from the Samantha die set in white and backed it in silver. Next I cut the Peony Diamond twice out of Cobalt card. I cut one in half and attached it to the edges of the Samantha die set. I used the other one on top of the Samantha die. I stamped my sentiment and cut it with the Stitched Flags and attached it across the Peony Diamond in the centre of the card. I added flatback white pearls as accents, then completed the card with white, blue and silver mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size. Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this card. The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post. All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. Was this the gorgeous sample you actually made for the launch ? I think this may have been a 'teaser' sample where you were showcasing one particular die but giving a sneak peak of what was yet to come, you're good at teasing are you not lol.
ReplyDeleteTo say this giveaway is beautiful is an understatement for sure, and the Peony Diamond is so delicate if I do ok at the big summer market this is what I'll treat myself to, one less off Andy's 3 page A4 both side list lol.
So I'll send my love n hugs for the day and hope it's a good one for you xxx
The dahlia embossed background looks amazing. The detail shows up so well. Love your card today. The delicate contrast of the peony diamond with the Samantha is a beautiful combination. Thanks for starting off my day with your delightful card.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh wow how I like this card Sue you would not believe, the Peony Diamond is a must have for any crafter but that cobalt Blossom Edger really seals it for me, amazing. Good luck to everyone, wish it was me.
ReplyDeleteReiterate everything that Pam has said today. How is work going Pam, and how is your friend who sits near you, she was a bit poorly too wasn't she.
Off to craft club this morning, we are doing our own thing today so I am hoping to do some embossing and stamping.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Fabulous card for the giveaway. I love everything about it and would love to win it along with everyone else I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about dignity Pam. The car we are going away in on Saturday is a 4 seater 1975 Triumph Stag which is a convertible but even with my arthritis and back problems I can easily get in and out of. My son has a 1973 GT6 but although I can get in I can't get out!
Thoughts and prayers to all. Hope everyone has the best day they can.

You make really beautiful cards. I really want to buy some dies that create a pinhole 'stitching' effect, which the Noble Double Pierced Dies seem to do, and I can buy them online from several shops in Australia, but living in a remote area of Australia it will be quite a while before I am able to get to a shop selling them so that I can view them first. In order to make an informed choice I tried to get more information about them online, specifically what the 'double' meant. I am thinking it means it creates the piercing on both sides of the cut line, but although I have seen images of the packaging I have not found a video or photo tutorial that shows the die itself, let alone being used so I can see if the 'double' does mean piercing both sides of the cut line. Any information about this would be greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant card, love the layers in the focal point. Xx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteLove the design and colour, I am not sure about the background. It would be a boring world if we all made our cards the same.
Pam I know the feeling, I had a sports car, managed in but with a sore back trying to get out was no fun!
We now have a 4x4 that is a dream to get in and out. My own car is small, but easy to get in and out of.
Once again, another great summary.
I am off to meet my sister, Hazel.
Thinking of all who are having hard times.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. The cobalt blue is such a gorgeous colour and I love the embossing folder with the gilding polish on it. Altogether - stunning!
Maureen, glad you're getting out and about , it certainly makes you feel better just getting out of the house. It sounds as though Newcastle is becoming a health hazard! I'd better be careful with my record of falling over recently! Still the Grainger Market is a lovely place to fall if you've got to - love wandering around in there. I slipped on some moss on the garden path on 3rd January and dislocated my knee replacement and tore two knee ligaments. I had to wait for almost 4 hours for the ambulance to arrive just lying on the path in agony - couldn't move my leg. I was freezing. Dave was in Durham and the neighbours were out! Fortunately the lady who keeps horses in the field behind us heard me screaming and she phoned for the ambulance. Eventually someone came and brought me a blanket and my phone and called my sister and brother in law. Gill brought me a hot water bottle and Kev went for Dave! I was nearly hypothermic by the time the ambulance arrived! Spent couple of days in Darlington Memorial, had knee realigned in A&E. Outcome is that my knee is very unstable and I have to have the knee replacement replaced with a different type and the ligaments reconstructed. I can leave the brace off in bed now and if I'm just sitting but the minute I have to put weight on my leg I have to put it on again. It's a right pain but at least I can get about. I'm not allowed to drive because I couldn't do an emergency stop. Going to hospital on Friday to see about a different brace.
Love and hugs to all, Alison xx

I imagine we will all be keeping our fingers crossed that we win this card for ourselves!!!

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteAs always a really stylish card for your weekly giveaway - love the way the gilding polish has brought out the detail in the embossed background and the way you've used the Peony Diamond as an accent behind the Samantha diecut...very clever...
Kathy E (in Oz)...you're right, the Double Pierced Nobles do give a pinpricked row either side of the cut lines, so perfect for creating an interesting edge to your apertures as well as the cuts themselves with just one pass through the mangle!...well worth the investment...hth
P in Wales - found the cheesecloth and it's on it's way!...thanks again
Izzy
Absolutely gorgeous, love everything about this card, the Samantha and peony dies are so pretty, I've got those in my stash.
ReplyDeleteOn a different note Sue, have you ever thought about making dies that make boxes, sort of gift box size. Hope I've made sense here. Some of the other companies make them, but would sooner have yours.

Hi Sue, now today's card I love. Just enough detail to be interesting without overcrowding. The Dahlia Embossing Folder looks beautiful when highlighted with the gilding polish and the Blossom Edger is worth its weight in gold and I really *must* get hold of it. A very lucky person will win this card.
ReplyDeleteRosemary - I hope the results for your dog were good, will check back later for news.
Alison - oh my, you don't do things by halves do you. You must have been terrified lying on the ground all that time. Fingers crossed that the new replacement is successful. You will have to get a buggy and compete in the downhill with Maureen, Norah & Elaine :-)
Laine - PP has a reason of sorts for her absence but what is yours? It had better be a good one but really we all hope that it is nothing serious.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card for the Wednesday giveaway. It is so detailed and elegant and feminine. Love it. The polished dahlia embossed background looks amazing and Samantha dies set is my favorite. Thanks for the chance to win this beautiful card. Good luck everyone!
I ordered Samantha die set from J.S. during of Sue’s launch. My Samantha or was afraid to cross the pond or got lost on its way to Toronto. It's been a month and I still haven't received my order so J.S.’s people sent out another one yesterday. Hopefully this time I will receive it. Fingers crossed.
Sending best wishes to all of you,

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteLove today's card, it's a beauty.
Pam my daughter and her husband have a classic GB red sports car which is about 6" off the ground. My daughter and I went out to the supermarket and I couldn't get out. This was about 10 year's ago when I was fit and able - I'd stand no chance now ha ha.
Alimecca, oh my word. You definitely qualify for the downhill wheelie club, even if you haven't got a wheelie we could tie you to one of ours! I hope the new brace is a success and you don't have to wait too long for a new knee.
Elaine, I hope you feel much better now and that the horrible bug has gone down the pan - so to speak!!
Carmen, hope your die arrives quickly, what a disappointment as JS is usually so reliable.
Rosemary, glad Dylan is on the mend, chewing paws seems to be the in thing at the moment with dogs.
Love to all, especially those who are poorly or lonely and their carers.
Maureen xx
Love it....
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteDespite what Maureen has told me I know you have missed me x
Well after a prolonged separation from my tablet (stolen by my friend), we were reunited about 20 minutes ago.
What a beauty to return to. Amazing card. Everything about it is beautiful. The EF is stunning and the gilding polish makes it 'sing'. Adore Samantha and the Peony Diamond and will get my hands on them one day but I must be patient x
A fabulous card Sue and whoever the lucky winner is will be so excited to receive such a treasure x
I have had a quick look back at the cards which I have missed and they are a real bunch of stunners. I will need a little longer to catch up with everyone's news so please be patient with me. I have been having serious withdrawal symptoms after being forced to go cold turkey from my Particraft addiction but am pleased to report that I am beginning to feel better already after indulging and getting a fix x
My friend (the tablet thief) has form. It is not the first time she has managed to take something home (by accident according to her)!! Anyway I have my tablet back now and am trying really hard to find it in my heart to forgive her but it isn't easy.
I spoke to Maureen yesterday and she assured me that no one on the blog was missing me at all. Don't worry I took no notice. Having met up with Maureen in January I have her sussed. I know when she is talking rubbish - it's when her lips are moving! Lol. I am sure 1 or 2 of you missed me just a bit x
So after a mind numbingly tedious conversation with our Mo I then had to prepare myself for Laine's usual drivel last night. She also took great pleasure in telling me I wasn't being missed. I think her and Maureen are in cahoots with each other. I was not aware that she had not been on the blog until Maureen told me. She is hoping to be back with us very soon but is not feeling 100% at the moment. It's her birthday tomorrow and I am wondering if she is feeling down at the prospect of turning 55. Got to say she looks pretty good for her age x
OK my lovely wonderful fellow Wilsonettes I will love you and leave you as I have 'the girls' over this evening. I will be up to speed as soon as possible but in the meantime I am just glad to be back x
Take care
Crafty hugs

gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteVery nice :)
ReplyDeleteLike the background - might have to get this embossing folder.
ReplyDeleteLovely design and colours. Think i need congratulating after playing a charity golf game in torrential rain. Soooooo wet!
ReplyDeleteWhen I see a white and cobalt blue combination on your cards, I immediately think "Spectator" look. I happen to like the "Spectator" look and think it a sophisticated design. Great idea to cut an extra Peony Diamond and place the two pieces on either side of the Samantha die cut to extend the overall design. Gotta find someway to fill up all that empty space on your LARGE sized cards!!! Hahaha. Please don't be offended by my comment, I happen to love your large cards. Hope all is going well with you. I am concerned about John and his current situation. Wish I knew more.
ReplyDeletebeautiful card. love the colours. that embossing folder looks fab, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card sue!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours and the background stands out proudly.
Oh, this is so lovely and the lacy background is perfect on here. So delicate and detailed.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, this is just my sort of card. I bought the Samantha and the peony diamond at Ally Pally as I was hoping I would be able to do this sort of thing with them. (Still decorating so haven't had much chance for crafting)
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
Hi Sue, Beautiful Card. I think I'll make it up to and 8 x 8. Arlyn

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteMy apologies for not being able to peruse your lovely designs due to eyesight problems (MS) for some time;
Looking at your lovely card for the give away I have just timed it nicely. What a beautiful card, so now onwards and upwards, I must take note of the dies used, and get them listed on my purchase list.

ReplyDeleteLove the embossing and folder Sue. I have just bought the brambled rose folder but this one is definitely on my to get list
ReplyDeleteHi Sue this is a stunning card. I just love it. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteGood evening Sue and all my lovely Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteOh what a beauty this one is our Sue, so pretty in both colour scheme and design. I am partial to big cards as they can be so much more than just something on a mantelpiece it is a work of art to be enjoyed, so can be made into a wonderful piece of home decor. Thank you flower for bringing such a lovely piece of art to our eyes.
Oh it's nice to see that PP hasn't run away to Timbuctoo, but how come it took a whole 20 minutes before opening up to our Sues page. Now you would think that she would have been anxious to see if the rumours were true or not, but no, she waits a whole 20mins before going in search of our Sue. Another thing lovely PP, if this "friend" regularity acquires trinkets, I would hide anything you want to keep out of sight for next visit, lol, hee hee hee, and yes it is lovely to have you back again flower.
Oh Alison flower, you never sent even one of us a postcard from your trip and your residential stay? All joking aside, you poor think and to be lying out there all that time? It's a wonder you didn't take hypothermia lying all that time, but glad your lungs hadn't stopped working or you could have been there for oh so many more hours and it could have been a whole lot worse. Now we're just making arrangements with our buggies and 4wheeler trolley seats to be able to include you in out big skate off, that's if you're up to it, but the fresh hair rushing past , sending you long golden locks of hair blowing to the wind, you would love it. Hee hee hee.
Ok I shall finish here and leave you all n peace, with hugs going to all those that need, want, or could just do with.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah. (Glenochil Village)
