Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is a pretty number from a few releases ago (I just have so many cards in my folders, sorry!)  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder.  For the focal element, I cut a piece of sky blue card, matted it in white and added it to the centr of the embossed background.  I cut the Petite Atlas Striplet six times out of coconut white card and wove them together (as in over and under each other).  I added glue in strategic points to keep it together and gued it to the sky blue background.  I stamped my sentient and cut it out with the Pierced Flags die set.  I attached it across the card and created two blue Poppies to add as accents.  I glittered them with Iced Snow for a bit of bling.  The flowers were seated on Lace Edged Leaves and black jute twine.  Black, white and blue mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered in the drawing to win this one.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Lovely lovely card for the Wednesday giveaway, someone will be very delighted. Fingers crossed everyone.
Cheryl hope you and your mum had a lovely day yesterday on her 85th birthday. Marvellous day. I know what you mean about these big Garden Centres, we have the same up here.
Yvonne, I was shocked yesterday, thought my cliocks had stopped. I hope George is now okay, what a horrible shock for you both .
Laine, hope you are feeling better today, you are taking and giving some stick but it's all good fun.
Tracey, glad you arrived in Ireland safely, wrap up well and enjoy yourself. So looking forward to the report on you and Pat meeting up.
Elaine, my daily hugs and best wishes for you and Andrew.
Ladies I don't mind if you echo me, I take it as a compliment, feel free.
Daily hugs to all, especially our missing friends.
Stay warm and well folks, we have frost again here this morning.

  10. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a lovely card today, love all the striplets you have designed and also seeing all the samples, it gives us new ideas. I like many of us forget about the older release dies, must make a not to myself to look at them again on pintrest for ideas.

I was able to get the little sweeties for my granddaughters birthday candy machine yesterday and the treat cups are arriving today (as are the heart ones) so I can hopefully finish off her card, so pleased you make a video of it as well as being on Hochanda with it Sue.

Off to my craft group today, we are making a Christmas card, yes you read it correct, I said if we make one special one a month we will have 12 nice ones by the time it comes round again. we are doing a white on white, with the snowflake borders, I saw it on pinterest - very useful site, I will have to check and see if I can find it again to give them the credit for it.

Elaine, hope Andrew is OK and the bloods came back good so tomorrow goes ahead.
Laine you are so, so funny, I too wish you could get to a workshop, I wonder if that can be arranged for us all who are going to ally pally, just a small one with sue wouldn't that be nice, but I expect it would not happen as she is always so busy at the shows.

There are so many names I can't remember them all but when I read the comments they are so refreshing and start my day of nicely, keep them coming.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  43. Dear Sue and Fans across the Globe,

I was just wishing for another swirly card, and here it is! With poppies that sparkle! It's lovely. I also like the black twine mixing it up with all the white and light blue. I was surprised about the striplet because I don't remember ever noticing it. Seems like some of the other curvy striplets would serve, even without weaving them. Without fail, you keep us stoked with ideas we can try in our own style.
You know the conversation we were having on the day of the Gillian card about being unable to find something we know we have? I mentioned my score board. Well, let me correct that. Now I can't find my craft room. I had it just last week, but then I cleaned the rest of the house and now I can't find it! More like, it's so stacked up that I can't get in. How do people keep everything g under control?
Wishing everyone a good Wednesday. Enjoy your moments.
    Love,
    Donita

  105. I have a solution to all of those cards hidden in folders. Give two away every week. Sooner or later you will run out. 🤣 Love the blue on this card. Update on Emily. She is cancer free. Went to Duke last week and had the central line removed. Praise God. They let the grandparents get within 6 feet of her last Sunday. That's the closest they've been to her in a long time. Too much risk of an infection transfer. And that was outside. Nothing inside. But they took it. Watched her ride her bike, play with her soccer ball and just be an eight year old. How would it feel to be healthy for the first time in your life. Praise God. Myra from Florida

What a clever way to use your Petite Atlas Striplet, looks like lace the way you have used it here. The Striplet dies are so versatile and a must have for any collector. Lovely color combination.Nice to see the poppies again, one of my favorite flower dies.

    Enjoy your day.

  124. Hi Sue
Well it is very clear that you listened to me yesterday. I just love striplets x
They really are so versatile and make the most stunning cards - and this one is certainly no exception. The colour is so pretty and the background created with it is as always so imaginative x
Really need to pull my finger out and get crafting. My candy machine bundle arrived today and that is another project on on my rather long to do list x
I wish you weren't so inspirational Sue. There just is not enough hours in the day to try and duplicate all the amazing works of art which we are so lucky to be shown every single day x
If you want to just forget all the red tape and send me this card Sue that's fine x
Much more civilised hour today. I didn't think Myra would be able to cope with such a huge shock 2 days in a row x
Donita - I have often lost my bedroom floor, my kitchen worktops and my table! Know exactly what you mean. My glasses often go missing - on my head!! x
Carmen - Laine would not be allowed in. Me - well they would beg me to stay. Would never try and steal Pams spot. She is one of a kind and our very special early bird x
P - big hugs and lots of love my friend x
Tracy and Pat - only one more sleep x
June - I admire your enthusiasm for getting your Christmas Cards done but think you're just a bit mad - but then I thought that before. Which little sweets did you get for your candy machine? x
Myra from Florida - fabulous news x
Elaine - hope you feel better and all goes well for Andrew tomorrow x
Cheryl - hope you had a lovely day with your mum x
Laine - I have better things to do than sit by the phone waiting for the phone to ring. Some of us do have a life and more than one friend you know! I'll tell you what it's like to be popular when we catch up on Friday x
Saba - sorry I couldn't oblige your rather twisted sense of humour by shocking Myra x
Need to get myself sorted for the arrival of 'the girls'. As I mentioned earlier - busy and popular - it's a hard life x
Sending lots of love and happy thoughts to everyone especially my besties x
    Take care
    Crafty hugs

  138. Hi Sue,

Today's card giveaway is a stunning one. The Jacobean embossing folder is lovely. Love the glittery flowers, the sky blue background and elegant Lace Edged Leaves. Thank you sharing and for the inspiration.
The winner is going to be very happy on Saturday! Good luck all!

Pam – Thank you for your morning comment.
Elaine - Hugs and best wishes for you and Andrew!
June & Crewe Trish - ...You are ahead of everybody, I think. I love Christmas but I don’t like winter. It is said that Canada has 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and construction. Meantime US has only 2 seasons: football season and waiting for the football season. This is North America! Whoever likes these seasons is welcome to move here!
'P' in Wales – Pets hold special places in our hearts. I am sorry for the loss of yours... Wherever you are ready please join us (PP/Laine and I).
Donita – I hope you won’t get lost in your already lost craft room!!!
Myra from Florida – Wonderful news about little Emily! Hugs to both of you!
Lori from Canada – welcome back!

Laine – Woefully ill prepared?!You?Really? And you are so brave to admit it here, on this blog? Then I take my hat off to you... What’s wrong with me? I’m becoming too soft ... On the other hand words are not enough to tell you how much I enjoyed to caught you off guard. You should see my happy dance!!!
2 only? Send me your wish list: t-shirt, socks, hat or a bow tie? Tall/short, blond/not too blond, thin/fat, hairy/bald? Will do.
Saba –There is always a reason to smile. It is said that each smile reduces stress and adds more years to one’s life. Promise to add more years to your life if ... can I borrow 2 of your t-shirts? Are for our friend. Oh well, not exactly for Laine ...
PP/Yvonne – Hm. Did you actually tell Sue to send you this card, or did I misunderstand? I am so disappointed in you right now, young lady! Hope Laine won’t read your post otherwise I will be in a big ... trouble.

    Have a great Thursday ladies!
