Aligned Striplet Card

Hi bloggers!  The Lotus Striplet is an incredibly versatile die with the different sections to it.  You can use all of the die or simply just some of the sections to create beautiful cards and projects.  It looks so nice when aligned to create a stunning background too, don't you think?

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2"  x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Welcome back Joanne, hope you are feeling better.
Elaine, good luck to Andrew for Thursday, this awful treatment regime will soon be over and he can start to get back to normality. Hope you slept better last night.
Tracey, safe journey, have a wonderful time in Ireland and with Pat, sending you both hugs.
June, you do go to some lovely craft groups, they sound such fun.
P whatever your dire time is, I hope you are coping well, as Laine said we are here to support you as you have supported so many others, myself included.
Pat I had to smile at Sarah's kitchen. I bought one when my girls were small. The pans in it crackled hissed and sizzled just like a real cooker, I have to admit I spent hours playing with it as they soon liost interest.
Hugs to all. Keep well and warm, and hoping our missing friends are okay and will be back soon.

It looks clean with the straight lines and tidy too - hope you can see inside my head to see what im trying to say !! Lol. I look forward to finding the time today to watch how you achieved this tidy clean looking card which would make a great card for a male maybe ?

  11. Hi Sue,
Another stunning card - I haven't got round to using this striplet yet but I do love it.
What I simply must do is get to bed earlier and get up earlier so that there is more time to spend in my craft den, doing what I like best: making cards and other projects.
Just want to say that dies have really taken my crafting to a higher level, yours in particular. Thank you Sue, for sharing and all your inspiration.

It is still the middle of the night for me so sorry if I have caused anyone to fall off their chair with my early comment!
This is gorgeous. I love the colour combination. How could we cope without striplets? They are so versatile making life so easy and simple for us. When I manage to get my bum into gear and make cards, more often than not a striplet is never too far away x
I watched with utter admiration on Saturday and was so bowled over I ordered the candy machine bundle. You forced me to part with my money again Sue! Had the e mail to say it is on it's way - the plan is to watch Saturdays show, keep pausing and make a candy box creation which can be filled at a later date. My next mission will be to hunt down a large variety of suitable delights to eat - oops I mean use for my new candy machine x
Saturdays comment didn't happen for me as had an unexpected meet up with a friend who emigrated to Australia 12 years ago. So good to see her but late night!
Sundays comment didn't happen because - and you won't believe this - George had to go to the police station as he witnessed an incident involving someone with a gun!! Very long story and me on tenterhooks until he came back. He is fine but I am still in shock x
Yesterday I started my comment and actually fell asleep on the job!
Laine - hush that mouth of yours girl! Noone believes your attempts to tarnish my good name x
Pam - so lovely to see you back in your Early Bird spot keeping us all up to date x
Elaine - hope all goes according to plan on Thursday - hopefully the end is in sight. Hope you had a better night x
Carmen - you sound like such a good judge of character - I am an Angel and Laine - well there are no words. You and your co workers make working life sound wonderful. The kid is blessed to have you all looking out for him x
Donita - your couch potato position sounds ideal x
Tracy - hope you are feeling better. Have a fabulous time with Pat. Oh and enjoy the rest of your time in Ireland as well x
Fluffy - lovely to have catch up especially with friends and their babies, lol x
Maria - hugs my friend x
P - sending love and hugs and hope things are looking up very soon. Here for you x
    Joanne - welcome back x
June - your craft workshop sounds like so much fun x
    Dragonsnap2 - Lola sounds adorable x
Maureen and Myra - (the gruesome twosome), hugs x
Tina and Tina - thinking of you both and sending love and hugs x
Ok that's it - my body is in shock because I am on the blog before 8am. Not an experience that will be repeated in a hurry methinks x
Sending oodles of love and happy thoughts to everyone especially my lovely blog besties x
Happy Tuesday one and all x

  43. Love this card, Sue, so elegant and such a beautiful floral element. Great colours and, as I've said more than once before, just adore custard in all its shapes and forms. However, Shrove Tuesday, so pancakes today yay!! Now, do we go traditional or venture into the world of cheffy concoctions? Sweet or savoury? Hmmm........
Pam, thanks for sum up, echoing.
PP - nearly fell flat to see you so early! Can only imagine your worry over George. Just waiting to see which of you or Laine has a hankering for visiting Canada and the lovely Carmen ha ha!
Thanks friends for kind thoughts, but staying true to Sue's wishes. Will just say funerals and losing adult pets and ongoing vets' stuff. And, of course, mud - which is the true depressant here. Other than that, fine.

  53. Hi Sue,

Lovely, lovely card, I am a big fan of your striplets, so many versatile ways you can use them.

My Mum's 85th birthday today, we had a very appetising meal out on Sunday at our favourite garden centre near Bristol. Although it has become more of a shopping complex since Wyevale took over 2 years ago. They are totally turning what was an excellent garden centre into another of their 'same as Wellington, same as Burham, same as elsewhere' centres.
On this visit another change has taken place and you can now buy a kitchen or bathroom. Oh for heavens sake! if I want a new kitchen or bathroom I would go to a shop specialising in them with staff who do know what they are talking about.

Special hugs to all not so good today, may your day become kinder to you.

    Love & hugs

You really surprised me when you didn't cut the center until after you put the mocha card behind the yellow.

Maybe just foliage could go on this if it's going to a man. The lines are so clean and not swirly, making it suitable for a man.

Special hug to P in Wales for living through some dire times. Rest is always the best thing, in my opinion.

Great card.

  94. Hello Sue,
I'm really fond of today's card as I love your colour combination and I got that striplet not long ago! It is very very nice indeed! I think it's good for man cards too! I don't have the flower but I have others and sometimes I put a butterfly on the foliage on a man card as it seems less frilly!!! Wrong word but you know what I mean! Thanks for all the tips.
Pam - I'm fascinated about this kitchen! I have sons so missed out on that but I'm a pretty good goal keeper! I was also taught by them to bowl properly at cricket - as I was told Mum , you are bowling like a girl!!! Apart from pointing out that I was in fact female there is no answer to that!
Yvonne - I have only just come round from seeing your Post!! I'm not good in the morning - but to get a shock like that at my age isn't good!
I'm so sorry your son has witnessed something nasty . I'm sorry about that . I may be cheeky but not unkind!!
Tracy - hope the Irish Sea was like a duck pond! Have a lovely time - you so deserve it!

  100. Hi Sue,

The card is beautiful. The flower embellishment is stunning. Great video as always.
The Lotus Striplet has 4 dies. Like you said we can use them together or not. No matter how many we want to use the final result should be outstanding. The versatility is endless with this one so it is a good investment. I wish I could get every single die you've made!

PP/Yvonne – Welcome back even you almost gave a heart attack to many of us! So early! Are you trying to take Pam’s spot? I hope not! She is doing a great job every morning. Nobody can do it, not even you. Big shock to see you on the blog… What I was saying? Oh yes, I am so happy and relieved that you are back! Are you getting ready for Ally Pally?

'P' in Wales – So nice of you to think I am lovely … Laine might have a different opinion. I have no problem to meet Yvonne here or there, but to meet Laine … it is a different story. How many of you have had the courage to face Laine? Or do you want to use me as a guinea pig? Can you picture Yvonne and Laine together on the same plane coming to Canada? Many things might happen on that plane!!!

Cheryl – Happy belated b-day to your Mum! Sounds you had a lovely day.

    Best wishes!

  105. Hello Sue,

Such a clean and fresh looking card today. Love the color combination as it makes me think of Spring. Our weather has been so crazy, it's hard to know what season it is. Today it's in the 60"s, tomorrow it's to be in the 70"s and then on Friday it's supposed to snow. So who knows,it keeps life interesting. I have done a card very similar to this (back when I had 2 good hands) but I cut out the center separately and then recessed it back into the card. I love to emboss all of my die cuts to get that "little extra" the embossing gives and I find when you die cut over the embossing, it just goes flat. I know you can hardly tell the difference but I know. The funny thing is I'm not a Type A personality, I just like what I like. Did enjoy your video. You always have the best tips to share and your are so inspiring.

    Have a wonderful day.

  108. Hello Sue,
Such a beautiful and as you said elegant card today. You never fail to teach us something new with your videos. Today it was how you cut out the lotus inner onto the mocha card after you had attached it. I would have cut the three out separately and then tried to fit them behind the custard apertures. That's why you are our leader and I'm a mere follower! Thank you for that. I love the colour combination and your flower and foliage just finish it all off beautifully.

P I am so sorry to hear about your sad time , hope the next few days are not too bad for you.
Yvonne I can vouch for Myra and her problems with mornings, I've had to bang on her hotel door before now to rouse her. Please try not to shock her again by coming in at what is an unearthly hour for her.
Cheryl hope your mum had a lovely day, it would have been my dads birthday today as well. He would have been 100! I still miss him.
Carmen I just love your signing off comment, makes me smile every time.
June don't eat too many of those sweeties!
    Love and hugs for all
    Saba

  111. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

My, what a lovely card and even though my i pad insists that the colours are primrose yellow and slate grey i can visualise the lovely soft custard tone against the rich mocha, mmm good enough to eat! Your striplet dies are simply fabulous, just like you, and i cant get enough of them...little more is needed to produce a stunning result as you have proved here, and the flowers just finish the design off superbly. I havent had a minute today to enjoy the video but will treat myself as soon as possible:-) Many thanks for the inspiration, its much needed and appreciated.
Well, i am feeling strangely fatigued today, do you know when your eyes struggle to focus and nip with tiredness? I am nothing if not a trouper though and will soldier on regardless of this disability:-) However, please do not expect my usual quick witted banter and amusing anecdotes as my engine is spluttering its way to a halt as we speak!
Carmen, in my weakened state i have been caught off guard by your early comment and find myself woefully ill prepared...i am vulnerable and find myself wounded by your implication that nobody would want to be in my company, what could i have done to warrant such a harsh indictment? I fear that Yvonne has been dripping poison in your ear in fear that i will decide to visit you in Canada instead of her in September, however, unless you can guarantee me two fine young lads semi naked for the duration of my visit as she can then i will unfortunately have to decline:-( Yvonne and i can be a force of nature when put together, thank goodness it doesn't happen very often, but the promise of a catch up with Sue means that we are prepared to tolerate each other for the experience:-)
My uncles live in the Toronto area, did you mention that you lived there?
Yvonne, well, slap me silly and call me Betty but i am so surprised, nay shocked, to see you on the blog in the middle of the night....neither of us are known for getting up before 9.30am so i am very impressed by your devotion to the cause....you let yourself down though with your pathetic excuses for not commenting the last few days, really? I'm sure you could do better than that! But in all seriousness i do hope that wee George, my favourite topless Cockney, is okay after his ordeal the poor wee scone:-( It must have been traumatic for both of you, boy, life is never dull for you my dear. Sending you all my love, enjoy your dinner with Kathxxx
P, my heart goes out to you sweetie, deaths are always hard to process, especially when its a fur babe but you are so resilient that i am sure you will come out of the experience stronger and with plenty of love for your remaining brood. Mud is no fun either, its why I would never do a Festival...don't own a pair of wellies never mind have a matching pair of socks so i would be useless in that environment:-) i dread to think of all the muddy paw prints you have to cope with on a daily basis....Wow!
Myra, cheeky most definitely but unkind , certainly not! Send Maureen my lovexxx
June, ooh i wish i lived near you, i would love to go to the craft workshops and classes, they must give you so much inspiration learning new techniques.
Cuddles to all my blog besties, Tracy, hope you have a good holiday, you deserve it, wheely, hope you are wellxxx

    Crafty hugs

Thank you for taping your inspiring videos. They are always a great help to me. I like this flower in multiple layers giving it an aster look to it. Asters grow wild here in the mountains of North Carolina and ofcourse they are PURPLE!
