Love You

Hi crafters!   I just "love" this "Love" card, so simple, but with a lovely floral element!  I started by simply cutting the Love Perspectives die into a piece of coconut white card.  I added the small "you" below it.  I added mounting foam to the back of it to raise it for dimension.  I decided to use a piece of decorative paper from Graphic 45 from my craft stash to show through the lettering.  For the floral element, I cut the Exquisite Poppies several times to create two flowers.  I inked the edges of the flowers with Chic Viola Colour Cloud ink and scrunched them.  I added the stamen die cut in white and then used white micro beads in the centre of that.  I seated the flowers on a bed of  white satin ribbon, white tulle, Trailing Ivy, Lace Edged Leaves and Olive Branch die cuts.  Two matching stick pins were added to complete the arrangement.  White on white mats were the final touch.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Stunning card Sue, it's lovely , I love it.
Myra, Hallelujah that Emily has been given the good news, you all must be so thrilled and now she can be a proper little girl, playing, friends and most of all getting those precious cuddles. I'm so happy for you I'm tearful.
Now we need to see our Amdrew get the same news, Elaine, hope the treatment today goes well.
Donita, found that craft room yet? I know where mine is but it has so much in it it should be called a craft warehouse. No chance of crafting in there. I like to craft in the lounge or conservatory. Think my bungalow is being taken over.
Carmen, my brother lives in New Hamoshire, when it snows there it really snows, so I know where you are coming from.
Tracey and Pat have a wonderful meet up today, it will be so much fun. Don't forget to let us know how it went. This blog has generated so many friendships it is wonderful.

Now this is what I call a Sue Wilson card, the beauty of the dies, your design, and of course, your signature flowers and stick pins, absolutely beautiful. Imagin a crafter making this for her Groom to be to receive on their wedding day, or as an anniversary card - perfect. Another that if I were you would not be able to use as a Wednesday giveaway ! A beautiful way to start the day, thank you. You deserve a hug for making me smile this morning ☺

Thinking of Tina E, Clare & family xx

  9. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh wow Sue how gorgeous is this, elegant with the beautiful flowers you have created too, perfect, it doesn't need anything else on the front at all.

I was reading through yesterdays comments this morning and someone asked what sweeties I got for the candy machine I am making, well they were skittles. My treat cups arrived yesterday so I know what I will be doing today.

My Christmas card yesterday turned out really well, it is amazing how I give 14 ladies the example and they come up with their make on it, just goes to show how everyone's perceptions are different.

Elaine will be thinking of Andrew today, hope all goes well.

Pam as always you have condensed everything for us, thank you so much.

The stories on here are amazingly funny, from royalty with PP to loosing craft rooms - what are we all like, a lovely blog family is what I say.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Myra Florida - such good news about Emily, hurrah!
Pat and Tracy - enjoy your meet-up. Envious. Carmen, would love a trip to Canada!!
Donita - know the feeling - Sue has a long time ago seen my dreadful mess (not in person of course!) as I tried to shame myself into clear up but it hasn't happened yet. Still using Mr P's desk when not in occupation, much to his patient annoyance.
Theresa G - do hope things go well for your pooch. Worrying times.
Thanks for extra hugs everyone, still need some for ginger Harry - such a happy gentle boy but with a tumour on nose and now gone blind. Three ops, no apparent pain, eating hugely, lots of purrs still.
    Hugs to all.

  29. Dear Sue and Sisters of the Blog Plus A Few Men,

Okay, until now I wasn't a fan of the Perspectives range, but your LOVE won me over, especially with that floral print behind it.
What I really, really like is the variety of greenery in white. Although was that a hint of purple in the olive branch? Also, my objection to the lace-edged leaves looking like a doodle has yielded to an observation that with all the other leaves, they're part of the normal creative riot that God puts into his designs.
Glad you found your heat tool, Diane Green. It had its joke at your expense and now it has come out of hiding.
Happy birthdays, happy cancer-free day, happy last chemo and so sorry for the loss of your pet. Collectively we go through everything, don't we?
    Love,
    Donita

  32. Hi Sue and everyone

Firstly apologies for not commenting yesterday. I had so much to do and then fell asleep trying to comment! I loved it he card it was (is) gorgeous.

However, today's card is one of my absolute favourites. I saw this card for the first time at Ally Pally and asked Sue which dies had made the flowers. I had to buy them there and then. I have not regretted that decision, they are so versatile. I love the colours used on the card and love the elegant simplicity of it. Absolutely gorgeous.

    Myra, great news about Emily.

It's strange isn't it that although I do not own the candy machine die set, I found myself deciding which sweeties would look good in it yesterday while I was in the supermarket?

Well after almost a year and a half of pain and annoyance, today is the day I finally get my shoulder operated on. Looking forward to getting it sorted but I won't be able to use it for a while. So no crafting. I will just have to watch Sues videos instead.

    Love Helen xxx

  51. Hi Sue,

Definitely a stunning simplistically style of card. Just goes to show there is no need for OTT flourishes on everything. Ticks all my boxes.

Very windy and heavy rain at times here in my little corner of Somerset. Doris might have missed us out but this band of bad weather hasn't. Luckily though nothing blown over or broken.

Love your expression of a craft warehouse for your craftroom Pam. That sounds a bit like mine at the moment. It's that time of year for my annual clear-out of items & kits bought and only used once. The pop-out toppers and shapes mainly goes to the nursery where my friend works, the rest will go to our village pre-school.

Big hugs to everyone and special wishes to all carers.

I love this card design, too. I always enjoy your floral cards. I like how you added the matching designer paper from Graphic 45 from the Love die cut to cut out the Olive Branch pieces to match. Ahhh, and it is a shade of purple. Purple makes me happy!

  113. Stunning card and with a change of colour and fewer flowers it would be suitable for a male card too

  114. Hi Sue
I agree Love your card, simple yet elegant and I love the Floral arrangement with the poppies

Tracy and I met up in Belfast City centre this morning and it was lovely to be able to give her a big hug instead of a virtual one, we went for cofffee and talked for three hours solid. Her poor husband Graeme was very patient and probably bored hearing all our craft talk but he did get to have coffee and cake. We will stay in touch via FaceTime and texts and have promised to meet up again the next time they're over๐Ÿ˜
Elaine hope all went well for Andrew today
Pam I'll be you echo again today

    Love and hugs to everyone

Another stunner today, I love the floral element with its variety of leaves and exquisite poppies. The micro beads make an amazing centre for them. And stick pins, hooray so nice to see them back. Thank you for the inspiration.

  128. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Simple and classy can sometimes be best and in this instance most certainly is. The white on white with just a splash of lilac is simply stunning, the scrunched up poppies are delightful but the star of the show is the Love Perspectives die, it is just so striking backed by the lovely patterned paper. How wonderful to see the stick pins featured, i would have them on every card if i could get away with it. Fantastic, simple yet sophisticated card sample Sue, you never cease to amaze me with your talents, many thanksxxx
Feeling quite tired tonight, had a busy day with a trip to Dobbies for coffee...or hot chocolate with marshmallows and 7 sugars in my case, and yes, i had to be scraped from the ceiling afterwards!....i can never resist buying some Yankee Candle goodies whilst I'm there, got a large jar of Christmas Eve which was on offer, its burning now and is totally scrumptious.
Had an unfortunate start to the day, my GHD hairdryer blew up....a pricey piece of kit at 145 smackers so any ideas of getting some dies anytime soon have crashed and burned in spectacular fashion:-( My hairdressers are so good though, they had a travel hairdryer and a set of straighteners that i had my eye on for ages which they gave to me for a reduced price but it was still a hefty 180 pounds which brought tears to my eyes....the price we pay for attempting to look passable is eye watering at times!
Helen, hope your operation went well and that you are now pain free.
P, i am so sorry to hear about Angel, Frances put it into words so beautifully though that it brought a tear to my eye. Sending all the hugs that Darcey, Brodie and I can muster to you and Harry, we are partial to ginger Tom cats in this household because Darcey brother Byron was one, and yes, they are the most sweet natured, lovable giants. He has a lot to contend with but with your care and love he sounds like a very happy boy, long may that continue. Wishing you more luck and sunshine my dear and much less mud!:-)
Carmen, how kind of you to consider procuring the services of two beefcakes for me, as for my preferences, sadly, as long as they have a pulse i tend to be happy nowadays....at my age you cant afford to be too choosy:-)......though, if pushed, i would prefer tall, muscular...though not freakishly so....dark and exotic looking specimens. They have to be topless, that's non negotiable, but anything else goes, I'm not too fussy....Yvonne will testify to that:-) A Canadian Mountie would fit the bill nicely....or any man in uniform if pushed.
Pay little or no attention to what Yvonne blabbers, little of it makes any sense at the best of times, in fact, if i were you, I'd avoid her comments altogether:-)
Yvonne, contrary to what your inflated ego tells you, lets be clear, i am not sitting at home waiting and counting down the minutes to our conversation, i too have a full and rewarding life and the fact that i have squeezed you into a small part of it should fill you with gratitude!:-) i have a relaxing facial tomorrow afternoon prior to our chat which will hopefully put me in the calm, serene frame of mind needed to cope with your nonsense:-)
Elaine, hope Andrews treatment went well and that the after effects aren't too bad for him....not many more to go now thankfully.
Pat and Tracy, glad you had a lovely time, Graeme must really love you Tracy to have sat through three hours of craft talk! This blog is such a wonderful place, forging friendships from around the globe, Sue, you have created a marvellous platform:-)
Pam, hugs to you and thanks for your daily roundup it's invaluable.
Hugs to Myra, Maureen, Frances, Wheely, Maria, Lynda, Theresa, June, Norah and the Naughty Nine, Alison, Saba and the two Tina's hoping you are all wellxxx

  135. Hi Sue,

Another stunning card! So elegant in its simplicity! This would make a beautiful anniversary or a wedding card or even a Valentine card if you use red instead of purple. The soft purple piece of decorative paper background has really captured my attention. It matches perfectly with the edges of the flowers in Chic Viola Colour Cloud ink. Nice to see the poppies again, one of my favorite flowers dies. I cannot decide which one is my favourite: Trailing Ivy, Lace Edged Leaves or Olive Branch die cuts. I wish to have them all. Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration.

Pam - Oh, your brother and I are neighbors! How often do you visit him?
'P' in Wales – a trip is fine; to live here ... Do you like winter? It’s all we have!
Saba – Very kind of you to lend me those t-shirts! Apparently Laine wants them topless; later on she mentioned uniforms ...so picky!
Laine – Oh, my! Does the sight of a man in uniform turn you weak in the knees, Laine? Is a dark and exotic looking TTC driver (our drivers wear uniforms) good enough for you? He has plenty of friends ready for a party. The question is are YOU ready?
Yvonne – Still busy and popular?! Or busy only? I have a feeling that your popularity is declining...

    Love you all,

  136. Absolutely gorgeous card. Lovely to see the stick pins again and the colour is so pretty. Alas I don't have the Love Perspectives die, Happy will have to be the sub.
My grandson has declared his Candy Machine the best birthday card ever. The treat cup is looking a bit cloudy as we had to fill it with little fizzy sweets (non-coated) which are the only tiny gluten-free sweets we could get. As long as it is regularly filled, he's not bothered. I'll have to try dusting it down with a long cotton bud!!
    Myra, wonderful news of Emily.
Helen, hope all went well with your op.
    Take care everyone.
