Best Wishes

Good Sunday morning all!  An older offering for today, I hope you don't mind!  I started by stamping the Poppy Daydream Stamp To Die For in black.  I coloured it with pencils.  I cut a multi layered frame from the Double Pierced Noble Ovals Set B and attached them with foam over the coloured image.  I stamped a sentiment and added it in the upper corner of the frame.  For the surround, I used the Tiled Squares Striplet and made a frame with it.  I matted it with red card then black card.  The card was completed with a red bow tied from frilly edged ribbon and a black crystal sparkler and white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4"in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are :

  1. Gorgeous lovely card Sue,can you tell I love it. Happy Mothers Day to All.
    Congrats to comment game winners.
Crewe Trish, sorry to hear about your big brother, gentle caring hugs for him, you and your Mum, she must be so worried for him, as you all will be.
Hilary, I hope your partner improves soon, you too need some comforting, so hugs for you both.
Dragonsnap, poor little Lola, she has been through the mill in her short life. Let's hope she gets this over and doesn't catch it again. Of course she will catch anything from her siblings but it is hard to keep such a young baby comfortable when ill.
Elaine, I can imagine your face at Laines comments, you are as naughty as she us lol.
The twins have their Mothers Day present and card ready for when she returns. Not a lot of chat with them, they disappear up to their rooms on the 3rd floor. Kelly has installed a doorbell up there as they don't respond when shouted. One ring Jack, 2 rings Ryan,3 rings meal is ready and it works . She and Bryan are having a great time inBelfast, should be home teatime today.
Hugs to all, especially our missing and poorly friends. Don't forget your clocks have gone forward .

I am jumping on your wagon again today Pam if i may , i have my son and grandchildren calling at 7 this morning on their way to Archery ,so not much time and they have said they would love bacon and cheese in Staffordshire oatcakes , apparently Nan's are the best .

  8. Good morning Sue,
Another stunning design and so appropriate for Mothering Sunday, as poppies are the flower of remembrance. On a bitter sweet day for so many, your design is a beautiful way of remembering loved ones that have passed on, such as your own dear mum.
I love the very clever way that you have created a frame by using the Striplet die and envy your perfect blending of colour.

  16. Morning Sue. A beautiful card made with some lovely colors and the design is wonderful. Nice to see a gorgeous bow i know not everyone likes a bow but i love them. The striplet background is very subtle. Might try this one but do the background in red or black just to see how it turns out. You can show older cards when ever you like as it gives us a chance to remember the older dies we have but forget to use them as we fall in love with your new dies LOL. I am patiently waiting for my little soldiers to sort out dinner, Indian Takeaway me thinks! The plan on Mothers day is always to do nothing - well 3 loads of washing later and the extremely necessary job of cleaning the bathroom (I have 2 boys!!), I have managed to have a quiet day. I have had flowers and chocs and 2 cards. Love my boys so much and it would appear that if what they have written in my cards is true, they love me x
I hope all you mums have had a lovely day x
Pam - sitting on twins must be uncomfortable!! I googled twiddlemuffs - love em x
Hilary - hope you manage to get some crafty me time soon - sending hugs x
Pat - Sarah is so amazing x
P - Laine needs no encouragement to lower the tone. Good news about Cloud x
Crewe Trish - sorry to hear about your brother - sending you and yours love and hugs x
Dragonsnap - poor Lola - hope she perks up very soon x
Sharon - welcome back. Sorry to hear you've been in hospital x
Well I am still waiting patiently to be fed. Now I don't want to sound ungrateful but when I tell the boys that dinner will be ready by 6 there is much verbal discontent when I don't deliver on time. I am trying to be positive - just think how much you will enjoy it Yvonne when it eventually arrives!! Lol x
A lazy night with the fabulous Vera at 8pm and hopefully some dinner x
Happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone especially my blog besties x
    Take care

  103. Excellent card. Had a very good day at Doncaster Race Course, expensive mostly due to you, Sue! But worth it

  104. Hello Sue,
Today's card is gorgeous! I love the red poppies and red bow! That ribbon ties so beautifully. The oval frames are beautiful - all in all - it's First Class!
Happy Mothering Sunday everyone! I know we have different days in different countries - that's ok - just have more than one!
Thinking though of those for whom today is particularly difficult. Love to Tina E and family, and others who may have lost a Mum fairly recently like our own special Sue! My sons remembered and have been most kind and thoughtful! Even if they did laugh at my voice!!
I'm still squeaking but it's hard to be down on such a beautiful day when I have so much for which to be thankful.
I'm even thankful for Saba's friendship - she was rude last night but I'm not descending to her level! Lol!
Sharon - so sorry you have been ill. Hope are back in tip top form very soon.
Pam - I did laugh at the bells- great idea though! I could do with them at the moment! My voice is poor and my husband slightly deaf in one ear! They'd be a godsend!
Crewe Trish - so sorry about your brother. Thinking of you and the family.
To the two Tina's - missing you!
As you know we changed our clocks here in Britain last night! One family arrived at Church this morning as the .service was ending! It's always funny when it happens to someone else!
    Lots of love! Myra xxx

  108. Hello Sue,
This might be an oldie but it's definitely a goody. It's gorgeous, so crisp looking. Your stamping and colouring in are done to perfection and The Tiled Squares Striplet ( try saying that when you've had a few!) looks amazing used as a background. I thought it was an embossing folder until I read the description. Thank you for bringing it back for us to enjoy it all over again.

Congratulations to the three lucky ladies, enjoy.
Sharon welcome back, sorry you've been in hospital, hope you are soon fit and well again
Myra you said it beautifully, I'll echo your Mother's Day thoughts if I may. I think we have all been thinking of Sue today.
    Love and hugs for all

  116. Hi Sue,

Beautiful card. Love the design, the colors and the Tiled Squares Striplet used to create the embossed background.
Very brief tonight but I wanted to make sure I popped in to show my appreciation for Sue’s every day work.

    Congratulations to the winners!

Hope all of you had a great Mother’s day. (We used to celebrate Mother’s day on March 8th in Romania but since 2010, Mother's Day has been celebrated on the first Sunday of May. In Canada the celebration is on May 14th.)

    Have a great week everyone,

Hope everyone celebrating Mothering Sunday had a lovely day. After visits from my children and grandchildren and lovely cards, chocolates and flowers, the icing on the cake was seeing my name as a comment game winner. Thank you so much, Sue. Congratulations to Anne and Yvonne.
Sharon, good to see you back. Hope you are soon fully recovered.
Crewe Trish, thinking of you and your brother.
    Take care everyone.
