Hi crafters! Today's card mixes the dies up so you can see different ways in which they can work together. I started with a piece of dusty rose card from my stash and cut the Atlantic Ocean Background outer decorative die. I backed it with coconut white card and cut the centre out of it. I added mounting foam to raise it for dimension. Next I used the centre decorative die and cut the design out of a piece of coconut white card, but used it in a diamond orientation. I used the heart shape from the Laced Heart to cut an aperture in the centre of it. I mounted the frame over it, then added a heart treat cup from the back to fit into the heart aperture. I filled the heart with heart confetti cut in rose and white and sealed it with a piece of acetate. I cut the centre of the Laced Heart in dusty rose and glued it behind the acetate on the heart. I tied a messy bow out of Rose seam binding and added it to the lower right hand corner. I made a flower from the Chrysanthemum die and tipped the ends with Victorian Velvet ink then added some glue and sprinkled Iced Snow on them. I seated the flower in the centre of the bow and added some leaves and a sentiment tag. I used several of the butterflies from the Cascading Butterfly die set to add around the card as accents. White and dusty rose card mats were added to finish the card. The completed dimensions are 7" x 7" in size. All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue, it's gorgeous. I hope you had a good weekend and had some lovely thoughts of your very special Mum. I know you have your own Mothers Day in the US but as we have adopted you here you have ours too.
ReplyDeleteSharon, so good to see you back, sorry you had to go back into hospital, hope you are truly on the mend now.
Carmen, does that mean you get an extra Mothers Day, that would be nice.
Yvonne, hope the boys came up trumps with your dinner.
Myra rest that voice or it will be a quiet meeting of the Nine, well quietist anyway.
Pat, Kelly and Bryan had a brilliant time in Belfast, they loved the city but said 2 days was nowhere near long enough. I was surprised that it was only a 30 minute flight from Newcastle. Anyway I'm back home now.
June, I'm full of admiration for your IT and organising skills, well done.
thinking if Crewe Trish and family, Hikary and hubby, all our missing and poorly friends. Both Tinas, hope all is going well fir you under the circumstances.
Elaine, I loved the sound of breakfast yesterday, scrummy, hope Andrew and Helen enjoyed their break..
Hugs to all, it's very cold and dark this morning.
Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card Thank you.
Take care and have fun Kitty.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I so like today's card, lovely dies that you have used and a nice size too, will add to my every growing 'to do' list. Am I right in thinking that you have another collection coming out very soon, looking forward to them.
ReplyDeletePam I reiterate everything you have said in your comments, you put everything in a nutshell every day for us bloggers, your so good. I was lucky enough to go to Ireland on a coach trip, we did the 'Ring of Kerry' and we loved it but we did not get as far up as Belfast, perhaps one day. So pleased that your family had a great time there, and of course you got to look after the twins, what memories you have stored.
Well it looks like more craft room tidying up today, but first I have to dismantle the old PC talk about lots of cables and things but it will be going to a good home.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
This is a lovely card Sue. Very modern looking and a pretty colour. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue and all of my favorite blog fans!
ReplyDeleteThis one looks so happy.
My stamping friends got together for all-day Saturday fun. Learned to make some wow cards. Everybody secretly signed a Sue Wilson card I made for the birthday girl, which I have to remember to put in the mail. It was with the So Glad to Have You as a Friend set. At home on Sunday, I decided to start making flowers, so I loaded the striped nasturtiums, orange blossom full petal, exquisite poppies and a couple of cape daisies on some wide tape, added waxed paper and cut half sheets of white and vellum at the same time until I had a pile of each. Maybe I can assemble while watching TV. Next I'll try colors, and after that maybe also do batches of the petal outlines and the nasturtium stripes. Is it even possible to stock up on flowers?
Glad to have you back at 1a.m. my time instead of 2.
I hope everyone finds some part of Monday to enjoy.
Love, Donita
Good morning Sue today's card is gorgeous I just love those dies. My wish list is so long. Take care. Hugs Jackie

Happy Monday everyone.

Such a gorgeous card. Before saying anything else- please, please can we have that lovely Dusky Rose as a new Foundation card? It is such a beautiful shade of pink. Love the way you've put these dies together ( but the Atlantic background it already a particular favourite of mine) and the floral focal point is fab. I thought I maybe had enough flowers. That'll be a 'no' then, as seeing the effects of this flower on various cards - yes, I have it on my wish list! Thanks for the inspiration, as ever.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeletelovely card, made with lovely dies. You are so creative, it puts me to shame. It's the little touches that just finish the design. I love it.
Hugs, Rose
Hi Sue, a beautiful card mixing and matching your dies to perfection. I love the dusky rose card and if you find your stash has suddenly been depleted then you will have had burglars who were only after one thing :-) The bow and chrysanthemum are both gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteA frosty start to the day but the sun is shining beautifully now. Washing on the line earlier, husband to the doctor's surgery, one more trip to the shops and then hopefully the grass will have dried off enough for me to cut it. Otherwise it will be a crafty afternoon with Sue by my side.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteLovely card. Pretty colors. Clever use of so many dies. My wish list is so long. Thanks for sharing.
Pam – Yes, I will get an extra Mother’s Day with flowers, chocolate and lunch or dinner out. Sounds like you and your family had a good time over the weekend. Love the idea of the bell. I know a family that uses walkie-talkie, but the bell is so royal. I was watching Downtown Abbey on Saturday. Those bells reminded me of you and the twins.
June – If you’ll ever get tired of crafting you can find a job as an IT consultant. Computers & software are a new world for so many.
Elaine – Finger crossed for tomorrow.
PP/Yvonne - Did you get dinner or are you still waiting to get some food? :)
We have a grey, windy and rainy day here. I am fighting a cold for now. Hope my week will get better soon.
Have a great Monday

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteWow ! I really love this card! It's pink for a start and a lovely pink too. I have the Atlantic Ocean background Die set and it's beautiful. I don't have the heart but I do have the Chrysanthemum and butterflies! No excuses then ! Seriously - the card is gorgeous . Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
Pam - thank you for the news round up as usual! As for the voice - it was a bit better before I went to After School Club. Now it's not so good but I feel lots better! I don't say much when we meet up anyway! Someone has to listen!!! Lol!
Pat L - thanks for caring too!
The birds are still singing here - it's almost dark and it's been a lovely day!
Carmen - which character from Downtown do you think would be Pam?
PP - like Carmen - I'm wondering if and when dinner came! You can't beat sons though!! Well - maybe! I'm not qualified to comment.
Thinking of all those waiting for Tests! Waiting to hear if treatment can begin / continue. Thinking of all those caring and worrying .
Lots of love, Myra xx
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card!
Thank you for sharing.

well considering i do not do pink, this is a fab card. classy, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow. What a gorgeous card today. I love it. We have some special anniversaries coming up in our classic car group this year so I now know what I'm going to be doing for one couples special day. I hope you had a good weekend, Sue and weren't too sad thinking of your mum. As Pam said, you get two Mother's Days.
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter, India has been really poorly with chicken pox this weekend. She was desperate to get it because her big brother had it but now she'd like rid of it. Not only has she been itchy and unwell but it's stopped her going to do the things she wanted to do! She carried chocolates round for me yesterday but then decided that she really ought to try some of them. She's never too ill for chocolate.
Baby Lola has only had a very mild dose of chicken pox - possibly because she's breastfeeding but now she seems to be getting one of her back molars. She's still a very happy little soul though.
Hope everyone is keeping a well as possible under the circumstances they find themselves in. Crafty hugs to all.
D xx
Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely stunning card! This is by far my most favourite card sample of the past week or so...and believe me, there's stiff opposition:-)....it really sings to me. The colour is lovely, i wish they had that shade of rose in Foundation card, and i love the square configuration, it makes a nice change. The Atlantic Ocean Background die is fabulous, i love the detailing, it works so well with the Laced Heart. This would make a lovely Wedding, Valentines, Anniversary card. The Crysanthamum are a lovely addition, really like the inked and glittered tips and who can resist a messy bow, simple perfection! Thanks Sue, it has encouraged me to add the Background die to my collection...but hey, I don't need much persuading:-)xxx
We've had the most glorious few days weather here in Stirling, it's actually been warm enough to venture out and sunbathe a little...i did so with heavy duty sunglasses due to a minor migraine, a little headache wouldn't deter me from developing a tan:-) It's all meant to change tomorrow however, but I've thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted....its probably the beginning, and the end, of our Summer in Scotland:-)
There has been an "unwanted" guest the past couple of days, he's big, ginger and very vocal......Darcey and Brodie are none too impressed either! He arrived this morning desperate to enter our house so we wisely shut our two in just in case of fisticuffs, he looked quite dirty and was very persistent so we let him in and he demolished a bowl of biscuits and two bowls of cat food. Meanwhile i checked the Cat Protection Facebook page for missing cats in the area and we appeared to get a possible match, we called and the chap travelled over to see if it was his baby but unfortunately it wasn't:-( We let Ginger boy back out and he disappeared. We had to go out for a hair appointment and shopping but there was still no sign of him until about an hour ago went he appeared, crying his heart out again. He has a blue collar on and seems well fed but it is strange that he has just appeared....think i should call CP again and see if they can check him for a chip, its so distressing because i just want to feed him but i have to think of his owners and how i would feel if someone was feeding my cat. Darcey went missing a few years ago for four days and the experience was awful, i just hope he's not missing from home because his parents will be frantic......
Elaine, hope Andrew had some of this sunshine over the weekend, good luck with his blood results.
Pam, glad you enjoyed and survived the weekend with the twins, it can be a real challenge looking after little people:-)
Carmen, despite your constant digs i will be the bigger person and wish you well with your cold, hope it doesn't develop into anything more serious. Broadchurch is coming on soon, getting quite excited, have you any ideas about the culprit?
Yvonne, hope you enjoyed your takeaway....when it eventually arrived that is:-)
Special hugs to all my besties on the blog, hope you all enjoyed your Mothers Day treats, especially you Sue because it must have been a bitter sweet day for you, good memories of times spent with your Mum will help thoughxxx
Crafty hugs

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteThis card ticks all my boxes. It has a fabulous design, gorgeous dies, beautiful dusty rose colour, a messy bow, and last but not least a Chrysanthemum with iced snow tips. It's gorgeous. I'm not a great fan of shaker cards but I'll make an exception for this one. Love it.
I am counting the days to your latest launch Sue, cannot wait to see what delights await us all.
Donita you have been busy, clever idea to tape them all together and cut them in one go. Have fun assembling them all.
Little lamb, hope you enjoyed your granddaughters concert. Bet she was the star of the show.
Elaine keeping everything crossed for tomorrow.
Myra who are you trying to kid, the rest of us hardly get a word in!
Carmen sorry you are full of cold, get well soon.
Dragonsnap you are never too ill for chocolate! Sorry India has had a rough time of it though but glad Lola has got off lightly.
Laine I do hope you find Ginger boys owner they must be worried sick but well done for looking after him. Darcey and Brodie will be no doubt be sulking.
Love and hugs for you all

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - gorgeous. The more I see of the Atlantic Ocean Collection the more I fall in love with it x
The dusky pink colour of this card is so soft and sets every single feature off to perfection x
There is so much going on but it is so delicate and pretty. Definitely one for the to do list x
I will be watching John tomorrow evening on Hochanda as I think he will be playing with your Atlantic dies x
Well it has been the most beautiful day. Blue skies, sun, a light breeze and lots of washing dried and smelling delightful x
I am pleased to tell you I did get fed last night. OK it was 2 hours later than I had expected but hey - better late than never!! Jake made up for the delay by ordering enough food to feed a football team x
Pam - we had a ships bell in our hallway when I was little that my mum would ring when dinner was ready. It is still there as the wrinklies are still in the house I grew up in. The bell is almost redundant but I can't resist a tinkle when I visit x
June - hope the dismantling went without a hitch x
Donita - so lovely to have get together with Crafty friends x
Elaine - fingers crossed for Andrew tomorrow x
Fluffy - who won - Sue or the grass? x
Littlelamb - bet the performance was wonderful x
Carmen - 2 Mothers Days?? That's just greedy! Feel better soon x

Such a pretty card. It seems so obvious (once I'd read your step by step instructions) but it hadn't occurred to me to stick matching coloured card behind the acetate.
ReplyDeleteTake care everyone.
Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect card today. The design, the ways that you have used your dies together, and the color are just delightful. It just makes you want to smile.
Have a great day.

ReplyDeleteVery nice Sue. I do like it when you remind us that mixing up the dies can result in even more stunning cards. The pink is a little different for you and quite, quite pretty.
