Just For You

Hello crafters!  I have a fun apron card for you today!  I just love this die set as there are so many uses for it!  Not to mention, so many of the dies in the accessory set will work with your Shadow Box cards too.  I went to my decorative paper stash for this one and selected some simple black and white polka dot paper for the top of the card and some matching diagonal stripes for the bottom of the card.  I wanted to bring in some red so I used a strip of card between the two designs as a divider border.  I cut the Apron out of Kraft card and then cut just the lower pocket area again.  I trimmed it neatly above the stitching and added a thin mounting foam edge to the back and attached it directly over the same spot in the full sized apron die cut.  This gave me a pocket to fill and hang stuff from.  I cut the small rounded pocket out of red card and attached it to the top of the apron the same way.  I cut all the utensils from the Baked With Love Accessory set out of either milk card, red card or silver shine card.  For the spatula, salt shaker and whisk, I used a silver paint pen and added some silver details to them and placed them in the pocket.  I hung the over mitt from the corner and added some light white pencil highlights to it.  I put the silver utensils in the upper pocket and hung the measuring spoons from the corner of the pocket, which I also highlighted with a white pencil.  I used some red and white Bakers twine as the ties and finally added a small sentiment in the upper corner.  I have to warn you, I really want to decorate this apron in so many ways!  Who knows how it will show up looking in the future! LOL  The card was completed with white, black and red mats.  The finished dimensions are 5 1/2" x  7 1/2" n size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Happy Monday Sue and all, this is a beautiful card, so cute. Hope you had a days rest yesterday. It is so well deserved.
Saba, it must be heartbreaking every time you leave your little man for both you and him. You will soon be back though for your meet up with the Naughty Nines as Patricia called you, so very apt I think from the stories I've heard, however I think I may have turned green with envy.
Elaine, when will Andrew know about his next treatment, This seems to be interminable, will be good job when it is over.
Laine, has your nose grown, it will look out of place on your cute little face. Is Yvonne okay or just too busy living the high life.
Tracey, what a time to be ill, hope you get better for your meet up with Pat, it will be so much fun.
June hope the craft workshop went well and that you had a good time.
Deborah, I hope your hubby is recovering well and feeling more like his old self.
Tina, NanbaTina, Wheeley, Maureen, missing you all, hope you will be back on the blog soon.
Hugs to all, enjoy your day, Ladies you are all too kind.

  12. Morning Sue. Another start to another wonderful week of daily inspiration - as Carol King once wrote "there's nowhere else I'd rather be"
A fun card to start our day with, love nancyd's suggestion of DIY tools as an accessory to go with the apron as my late dad would wear something similar when decorating our home to keep all his tools at hand, what do you think Sue ? A hammer, screwdriver etc 😊 🔨🔧 and we could add in one of the Latte mugs as we all know how many times we fill the kettle for their tea breaks ! Lol anyway, a cool fun way to start our week in Particraft World. Sending hugs for a good day coming your way Sue 😉 xxx

  68. Hi, Sue,
What a delightful card, it's just too cute for words. I adore the little measuring spoons :). This is something that I would be happy to use for my brother-in-law as he loves baking cakes...my sister would need either a gardening or sewing themed one I think lol.
I hope everyone is safe and well after Doris struck...how can we be afraid of a storm called Doris for goodness sake!! I think the storms should all have Viking names or Norse gods :).
Touch wood, it's quite calm so far this morning in my corner of Cornwall, although we did have some rain before I got up. There's a lot of cloud cover but I think the sun is trying to shine. Still not the weather to work outside though and I really need to dismantle my greenhouse, don't tell anyone that I'm smiling at the delay in getting out there lol. Oh well, another day in the craft room for me then. I've recently tried my hand at egg decorating. It didn't go as well as it could as I wasn't able to cut the egg very neatly. I think if I try again I'll be brave and use my dremel on the shell...and get another duck egg which is nice and thick lol.
Here's to a great week for everyone.

Well I'm off to Ireland in the morning. Still feeling a little off but not as bad as I had been. Getting excited that I'm meeting up with pat L on Thursday. Woo hooo lol.

    Love to all xx

  105. Hello Sue,
Gorgeous card and such lovely detail! I love the look of flour and the fact that it looks like a used , favourite apron! This was the first Die my friend bought from your latest launch and she brought it round to show me! We were waxing lyrical about different sorts of aprons for different people both male and female and the fact that these lovely utensils could be used in the Shadow Boxes. Love the cord for the ties too!
P In Wales - I'm sorry you have had a " dire time" recently. That sounds awful. Sending you a hug!
Tina Eldridge - if you look in - hope all went well today! Was thinking of you and will continue to do so over the coming week! x
Love to all lovely friends on the blog!

  106. Hello Sue,
Brilliant card, I just love all the little utensils popped into the pockets they look so "real". I can imagine the apron used in so many ways to suit both male and female recipients. The dotted and striped papers work perfectly together as a background and the white highlights just add that bit extra. Love it.

Pam it's always sad when I have to leave my little ones but as you say it won't be long before I'm back.
Elaine so sorry you had a bad night, hope tonight is a better one.
Tracy have fun in Ireland, looking forward to hearing all about it.
P in Wales sorry you've had a bad time, hope things are improving.

    Love and hugs for all

  108. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Oh what an undeniably cute ensemble! You have created a charming card with the dearest little accessories that would also fit perfectly within the Shadow Box dies. As reflected, this apron could be used for chefs, bakers, gardeners, crafters, DIYers, and any number of activities and hobbies, it is just so versatile. I just adore the dinky rolling pin, spatula, measuring spoons etc and i love how you have used a silver paint pen to create the silver effect. Its also ingenious using the white pencil to highlight the apron and accessories because it adds a further dimension to the items. I will definitely be investing in this set, if not because they are just too cute to ignore but also because friends like Yvonne would really appreciate a cooking inspired card being the domestic goddess that she claims:-) Great card, many thanks for all your hard work Sue, what would we do without our daily fix?
The sun almost threatened to shine today, there is still snow on Norah's Hills though but the days are getting noticeably brighter and i saw a tree with what appeared to be blossom on it this afternoon....i decided to venture out for a much needed sun bed for a dose of vitamin D, felt much brighter as a result. Can't believe that its almost March, Ally Pally will be soon...i just wish that i could go but Yvonne has banned me from visiting, she thinks that she will be Sues favourite without me taking all the limelight:-)
Pam, large nose?Whatever could you mean?:-) Yvonne likes to think that she's living the high life but it masks an altogether sadder existence devoid of any friends I'm afraid:-) She was quite tired when i last spoke with her but I'm sure she'll be back on form soon.
Carmen, i would love to make you a Candy Machine card but fear that it might not be up to Sue's high standard. What sort of theme would you like? I think Gobstoppers would be an appropriate sweetie but i think that the hole on the machine isn't quite as large as your mouth:-) Maureen is known for her cheekiness so i was simply letting her know that we bore no grudge and looked forward to her return:-)
P, i am indeed perky in spirit if not in body because my ban on buying any dies is soon to be lifted:-)
PP is still pooped after her busy social calendar. I am so sorry to hear of your dire time, don't be afraid to mention any worries if you need some support, I'm sure Sue wouldn't object. I'm glad furbabes are well though, hugs all roundxxx
Elaine, hope you have a better nights sleepxxx
    Tracy, safe trip tomorrowxxx
Myra&Maureen, sending hugs to my favourite twosomexxx
Hugs to all my besties, hope that you are all well, and anybody in need of a cuddle is more than welcomexxx
Off to watch Broadchurch, good stuff:-)

    Crafty hugs

  112. Evening Sue and everyone.
I love this card and your baking set is a fantastic little kit !
Love how you have used a silver pen instead for card or foil for
some of the areas and white pen for wear and tear and flour on the Apron.
I want this die set so badly, can't wait until Ally Pally and to see you again.

Congrats to the three comment winners yesterday and a very nice
card it was too. Looking forward to see it as a spinner card.

Elaine- fingers crossed and everything else for Andrew on Thursday and I
wish everything goes well. Sending you all some hugs x
Craftynanna and it was someone else with real bad back's at the moment,
do take care but continue moving around if you can. It's horrid to have pain
as many of us know, probably how many of us started with card making and if
the mojo just is there and not floating around somewhere else then card making
is a very nice and relaxing hobby, don't you agree ? Yay Sue, for being here
for us all and giving us soooo many ideas for our cards ! x
Tracy- hope you feel better asap and you have a wonderful meet up with
    Pat on Thursday ! x
Laine- hope you are okay and that nose of yours haven't grown too much :)
I believe you are a real nice lady.......say hi to PP when you speak next x
    Many hugs to you all,
    Maria x

  115. Hi Sue, I love this card with all the tiny utensils, I am a sucker for all things miniature. I used your tip of silver paint pen on the garden tools and glossy accents on the handles and was really pleased with the results. Although I don't have the baking set just yet I look forward to seeing what else you come up with for the apron.

I'm late today as I went out for lunch with my friend and her two daughters for whom I am an honorary auntie. Despite being 35 and 40 they still call us auntie and uncle and I am old-fashioned enough to really appreciate it. We had such a good natter we were in danger of being thrown out :-)

Laine - good to see you again, the furbabies are all fine thank you and I hope the forthcoming boosters for Darcey and Brodie go to plan.
'P' - sorry that you have been having a bad time, hope things are looking up for you now.
Tracy - have a lovely cold-free holiday and a great time meeting up with Pat L. We expect a full report lol

  119. Hi Sue,

You took me by surprise with this card. So different than everything you’ve done since I joined the club/blog! Love it! This mini apron and those mini utensils are so cute. It could be used for many occasions for ladies and men as well. I have friends who would love this. I join those looking forward to seeing more variations on the theme. Thank you for the inspiration.

Elaine - hugs for you and Andrew! Good luck on Thursday!
Laine – Yvonne will steal the show with or without you there. Not many people will miss you at Ally Pally. At least you’ll be here (I hope) to entertain the rest of us!

    Have a great week everyone!
