Just A Note

Hello crafters!  For today's card offering, I cut the Indian Ocean Background out of coconut white card and backed it with Wisteria card.  I cut the centre out and added mounting foam to the back of the frame.  I kept cutting the smaller dies in the set in the same manner and worked a stair step going downward to the centre of the card.  I used the inner oval from the Charlotte die set to create a white frame backed with Iris card for my sentiment.  I added it over the stamped sentiment and attached it to the middle of the stair stepped frames.  I cut two of the Starflower clusters in white and cut the matching flowers in Iris card.  I glued the flowers behind and added pearls to the centres.  I attached them in opposite corners as accents.  I completed the card with white, wisteria and iris card mats.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Elaine, I'm glad the hospital reassured Andrew. Hope the treatment goes well today. You too need to be sorted, stress is a serious problem and you have had more than your fair share.

  7. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another cracker of a card, I like the raised effect which really shows off the versatility of these dies.

Got signed off from Physio yesterday so pleased about that, they were a lovely bunch of physiotherapists but what with craft in the morning and then that in the afternoon I was knackered by the evening, still great news for me.

Pam I hope you are feeling a bit better every day, wrap up warm because it is still -2 in Kent this morning, not sure what it is where you are.

Special hugs to Elaine, Andrew, Tina, Owen, Dawn, Nanna Tina and anyone else who needs one.

Yvonne I hope you have rolled out the red carpet for your welcome to Maureen, have a wonderful time together xx

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  9. Morning Sue. I love to see what you have chosen for us each day. From 5am I'm clock watching with anticipation, so when my day starts with such a pretty card how can I not smile at your choice. Unfortunately this collection came along when funds were low so it's never found a place in my die collection. In circumstances like that I have to build my collection with the beautiful Finishing Touches, I can then, thanks to your gorgeous designs try and enhance what I've made with extra beautiful floral dies etc. I just love the inspiration you give every day and this sample is no exception, it really is beautiful Sue, thanks for making me smile every morning. For that alone you deserve a big hug. Have a nice day ☺ xxx

  11. This one's even better than yesterday's!

This would be my favorite thing to do with the star cluster, if I just had the background stamp. And hadn't lent the star cluster out!

Still, the concept of bracketing something on a diagonal is so nice.

Thanks for giving us beauty in the morning!

    Love,

We have a clear blue sky with bright sunshine this morning, however, it's really quite cold. It's about 8c in the sun in the back garden but in the shade out the front there's a very definite nip in the air. Fingers crossed it will still be sunny after lunch as it's west facing and should warm up a bit once the sun has tracked to the front of the house :). Hey...I'm not complaining, for a change it's dry and there's no wind lol.

  127. Hello Sue,
I hope this is all right to post here, but ladies in case you look in, I thought I'd update you about "the visit". I forgot myself and raised my eyes to look at Yvonne. Don't worry she forgave me but I was reminded sharply not to do it again ha ha. Had a great meet up, but I didn't get the chance to talk much as she rabbited on for England, boy can she talk, my ears are sore!!!! Believe it or not the Coffee shop flashed their lights on and off to tell us they were closing so we had to move, otherwise she'd have had me sitting there all night. She said that if we meet up again when she comes back up North I may be allowed to speak, if I ask nicely ha ha. What really amazed me were the crowds who came out to see her, anyone would think they hadn't seen a Princess before!!
She may tell you a different story, but don't believe her, I wouldn't tell porkies, would I??
Laine, I do not know how you spent all that time with her, you have the heart of a lion lol.
I am now going to lie down in a darkened room!
    xxx

  129. Evening Sue
Oh this is such a gorgeous card. The colours are soft and the dimension created by staggering the layers is delightful x
I will be itching to get back into my craft room when I get back home. I haven't got the Indian Ocean background die but maybe a variation on a theme using another background could work. I'll have to put it on my to do list (which is pretty long) x
Sue I keep 'checking out' your new dies and cannot tell you how excited I am to see what you are going to delight us with. My imagination is running riot and the anticipation is forcing me to wish the days away so that your launch is upon us in all its glory x
Well the day that Maureen had been waiting for finally arrived. Her excitement at the prospect of meeting a celebrity was very apparent. I made sure I arrived a little early because I wanted to get rid of the red carpets. After all I didn't want Maureen to feel any more inferior than she actually is.
I was alone and hid my royal status to make her feel comfortable! I know how hard it is for lower class people to relate to those of us who are held in such high esteem by so many.
We went to have a cuppa and I hoped that I would be able to drink up then make my excuses and be home within the hour but it was not to be. I sat politely and listened to her go on and on for almost three hours!!!
OK, so I'm telling a bit of a porky. Lol. We met at 1.30 and went to have a cuppa straight away and had the loveliest time chatting about anything and everything. At 5.20 they had obviously had enough of us cackling that they began to flash the lights in a not very subtle fashion to make sure we knew it was time to clear off!
A quick trip to Boots then another 20 minutes nattering on the street and we managed to part company with me being forced to promise to stay in touch. Lol x
If any of you were wondering why your ears were burning then it is all down to Maureen. I tried to stop her spilling all your secrets girls but as you know she is a dreadful gossip x
Quick update on the wrinklies - they have new names! Hobble (my dad) and Wobble (my mumm). Mum had to have an x ray on her hip today. She had both hips replaced almost 12 years ago and they have started to give her a bit of trouble - one in particular. So off to the hospital she went. Results sent to her GP next week x
OK folks. I will finish by sending lots of love to Tina T, Nanna T and Elaine x
Apologies if I have missed any news but will confess to not reading comments as I know many of you were eager to hear how today went x
Sending you all love especially my lovely besties.
    Take care
    Happy thoughts and Crafty Hugs

    Yvonne x
