Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  It isn't quite a WOW (white on white) card, but it is a MOM (milk on milk card! LOL)  I used the Dot Matrix embossing folder to emboss a piece of milk card.  I cut it into three even sections and added them using mounting foam to a larger piece of milk card to create the background.  Next I cut the Tahiti die out of milk card, and cut it in half to extend the pattern.  I cut the Fiji die in milk and added the ends of the Tahiti to the top and bottom of it.  I stamped my sentiment and covered it with apiece of sticky adhesive paper.  I cut a frame for the sentiment using the inside design from the Bora Bora die set.  I cut it out of milk card and then backed it with milk card for a tonal look, then cut the centre out and added mounting foam to the back.  I peeled off the backing paper on my sentiment, attached the frame over it, then sprinkled the inside area with Diamond Sprinkles.  I cut away any excess card around the edge of the frame and mounted it in the centre of the card.  I accented my focal element with several of the Striped Nasturtiums cut out of milk card using only the outline dies in the set.  I added three flowers to the lower corner and two to the upper corner to create a spray of flowers across the card.  I added a couple of pearl swirls to finish the background.  The card was completed with  simple milk cards matted and layered.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Lovely card Sue, this will make the Wednesday winner very happy. The sentiment is so true.
Elaine, I'm sorry that Andrew is not well again, I hope the consultant sorts this for him. You too need to sorted out, I'm surprised you didn't get an earlier appointment due to the heart valve problem. Good luck to you both today.
Yvonne, I'm picturing Dad on the naughty step and mum with her halo being good. Good luck with those two. Hope you have a wonderful meet with Maureen, can't wait to hear about it.
Tina and Owen, NannaTina, sending my daily hugs and thoughts, hope you are all well under the circumstances, remember one day at a time, it is not an easy journey.
Norah and Sam missing you, hope you are well.
June, last physio today, you will be glad it's over, it does take it out in you.

I love everything about this card, and whilst I don't have any of the ingredients, you've set me thinking that I could possibly do something similar with the California collection.
Sam, I seem to have missed what was said but I enjoy your comments. Hugs to all with special ones to Elaine & Andrew, Nanna Tina, Tina T, and PP's "wrinklies" - you made me laugh at the image of the naughty step! Sue xxx

  63. Hi Sue and all the huggers and huggees.

Everyone said it, and I agree. Love, love, love this card! Somehow you achieve simplicity and complexity at the same time.

I never would have thought of making three raised panels with the embossed background. How does cutting something into three pieces unify the whole? But it does!

I'm glad the nasturtium stripes are getting some time in the spotlight. They are just the perfect touch for this.

Thank you for teaching us. For a person with no artistic ability, it's so wonderful to make something beautiful.

    Love,
    Donita

    Yvonne , what a hoot !
June, keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Tina T and Owen , today will be difficult for you both ,sending you both my hugs. xx
Pam i do hope you are feeling much better today.

Andrew saw his Consultant who wanted to go make sure his understudy gave all the information correctly to Andrew & Helen,{ we have all been worrying thinking something was wrong } Andrew explained how he had been ill over the last two weeks and so the Consultant has taken him off the Iron Tablets hoping this will help the situation , he said Andrews body will get used to the injections as time goes on and the side effects will ease . So Andrew is able to have treatment 8 tomorrow then 4 more to go.

My DR seems to think my problem is stress related , however he is sending to the Hospital for me to have my heart check up appointment , he is having me back tomorrow for my diabetic check up with the nurse and says i can have a shingles jab while i am there , Nice !.

Big hugs to P in Wales,Diane,Pat,fluffycat,Lynne, Crewe Trish ,and all my lovely buddies on the blog. not forgetting Nanna Tina , Big Hugs. xx

  154. Hi Sue
Every card you do is a WOW card in my opinion. This one is no exception. So stunning. Whoever is the lucky winner is going to be over the moon (she said with her fingers crossed) x
Much later tonight than I'd hoped. My brother and sis in law came for dinner and some old family friends joined us as well. Good times x
The wrinklies are good. My dad fetched his new car from South Shields today. 80 and still driving. I had to go out in the car with him on Sunday - a decision not made lightly I can tell you. I will admire his lovely shiny new car from the outside. I'm not intending to view the interior unless it's an emergency.
My mum behaved and did as she was told and really enjoyed our visitors whilst I fed them all
The naughty step remained vacant today x
It is almost time. I have promised Maureen that I will come alone tomorrow without my entourage or even my security. I think I may have to trawl round the designer shops with her 10 steps behind just to educate her in the ways of those more fortunate than herself. I think she is more of a gannin doon the toon with the lads and lasses kind of a girl!!! Lol x
I think there is a possibility that Maureen's bottom may be firmly placed on the naughty step if my suspicions are correct! x
Pam - hope you are feeling better x
June - hope craft club was a blast - think you would need a naughty cupboard with a lock on the outside x
Tina T - as Pam said, it is not an easy journey - little steps. I hope you managed to get the service sorted. Lots of love and hugs to you and Owen x
Elaine - love and hugs to you and Andrew x
Nanna Tina - love and hugs x
Laine - where are you?? Sulking because you know I may have a new bff tomorrow? Seriously - hope you're OK. Hugs x
Right that all for now folks. Think I had better get some rest. Mixing with commoners always takes it out of me so will need to prepare for tomorrow x
Sending happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone especially all my lovely bantering blog besties - too many to list but you know who you are x
    Take care
    Crafty hugs

  155. Hi Sue and everyone

Wow, what a gorgeous card. I love white on white, but seems like I also love milk on milk too!

Sorry not read through the comments today and my bed is calling me, though couldn't help look at Princess Pixies post and laugh. Seems like things are going well with your parents, that's good. Hope you have a good day tomorrow Yvonne with Maureen.

    Love Helen xxx

  157. Hello Sue, Very late tonight! So sorry!
I really love the card and I see I'm not alone! It is an all round favourite I think! The MOM is a big hit or as we call it a WOW! Would black on white make a BOW WOW?
Tina hope today went well for both yourself and Owen!
PP - you may require a mobile naughty step! Some Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue may be needed to affix a certain person to it!
Seriously - I hope you both have a lovely time! I'm sure you will. I'm so pleased your parents are a lot better and I hope your Mum can get out for a drive in the new car very soon!
Sending love to Tina and Elaine too.
Pam - are you feeling any better? I do hope so!
Love to all the kind ladies on this blog!
Love and thanks to you Sue,
