Fabulous Day

Hi crafters!  I really like the autumnal feel to this one, I hope you do too!  I started with a piece of milk card covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing off to expose the adhesive and I started to lay down a bunch of the Swirly Leaf Trio dies cut in varying shades of greens, yellow and rust.  I alternated the colours and the leaf style all the way around the edge of the card.  Once I had filled it in all the way around, I glittered the remaining adhesive areas with Diamond Sprinkles.  I used my paper cutter to remove any of the leaves that were overhanging the edge.  I cut a smaller piece of milk card and embossed it with the Dot Matrix Pinpoint Embossing folder and matted it on a slightly larger milk card mat.  I added mounting foam to raise it and seated it in the middle of the background.  I cut the inner die from the Bora Bora in milk and added the inner die from the Tahiti.  I backed the Tahiti cut section with the same shape cut out of the rust card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the inner die from the Fiji die set.  I inked the edges lightly with rusty hinge ink and added it to the centre of the card.  I completed the card with milk and rust mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Tina, great choice of music for Peter, glad you are now settled with service, when is it? It has been a long process for you and Owen, I think of you daily.
Elaine, how did appointment go. I hope Andrews treatment is better this time, hugs to you both.
Maureen and PP, the visit sounded very regal, glad you both enjoyed your day. Love to Hobble and Wobble too.
June, good news that physio have released you, can't have it interfering with your Craft Club. Weather seems mild in Hartlepool but then I'm not going out in it yet.
Dawn, hope shoulder starts to ease soon, take care.
Lorraine, good to see you back, so sorry that you have been poorly.
Hugs to all friends, esoecially missing friends, Norah, Laine, Wheeley, hope you are all alright and big hug for NannaTina.

  6. Morning Sue. Your ideas and inspiration is endless and always amazing, I'd give the world to be able to have just a quarter of your imagination and crafting knowledge, it always makes me wonder how you see your vision of the end result, this card is quite different (say from yesterdays) card - in a nice way that is, but i think im seeing so many new changes in the way you craft too and its amazing, we never know what you will inspire us each day - a Sue card with lots of gorgeous dies and a lovely big bow or something new and different, but each day brings so much inspiration and wonderful ideas, thank you.
Whatever your plans for the day hope it's a good one xxx

  74. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a different card today but that leaf has fairly got my head swirling with how to use it, even though we are definitely into winter Sue, this looks and reminds me of an autumn card.
Had Harry from the night before last and he screamed and better screamed the whole night long, falling asleep only when it was time to wake up as i had Rory to take to college, the wee midden that he was. I will be glad when all these teeth that are bulging at the gums finally break the surface as Edinburgh Zoo keeps calling me up to see if i'm there missing panda Sweetie. I keep telling them no and it's only because i've had a rough night and day that i have my panda eyes but honestly i'm not all furry or black and white, although seeing the face this morning i might be contradicting myself on that score.
PP, i''m glad that you had a lovely time with our Maureen but can i assure you here and now that we are honestly not all as daft as her despite what she may have said to the contrary, lol. I hope that her dress matched the occasion as she was so worried about which evening dress to wear with which tiara, lol.
Tina flower, what a great choice in music your Peter had, my first love changed me into a Jerry rafferty fan with Baker Street over 30 years ago and it is still one of my favourite pieces of music. Having seen how long my friend had to wait to have her fathers funeral i know unfortunately just how long and dragged out this process is and how much of a strain it is on the family to deal with. I wish there was more that i could do or say to you flower but sending you and Owen hugs to keep you going through this torture and sending up my little prayer for Peter.
Pam, have you been behaving and doing as the doc says? Please keep wrapped up warmly flower and i can recommend the new Ribena Spicy which has cinnamon in it as it you can actually taste it unlike the rest of the food that i have been trying to eat that tastes like cardboard. Need to remember and get another bottle as i am running out.
Well the rotten mist clouds have decided to pinch my lovely hills today and it is so dull here today that i won't wish anyone here but i hope that where ever you are it is a better day. sending hugs to Elaine, Andrew and Helen - i hope that Helen doesn't get to jag happy or practise her new found skills on poor Andrew too much. To all my lovely friends new and old on here i wish you a good day, sending hugs to all that need, want or could just do with some,

  133. Hi sue.
Loving this card. Bought the normal leaves yesterday. Can't wait to give them a go. Endless possibilities as all ur dies are xx

  134. Love the way you took the swirly leaf die and changed it to a design and not leaf veins. We all need to look & look again at our die collection to see new possibilities.

  137. Hi Sue,
A belated happy new year to you and your family. I'm trying to catch up on all the blogs I've missed while I've been away in Australia and getting over the jet lag which seems to get worse as I get older. So many beautiful cards.
