Faux Ribbon Threaded Card

Hi crafters!  The new edger dies have some beautiful thin strip edges that can be used on your cards and projects.  Today's video show you how to use this one to make it look like a faux ribbon threaded card.

The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  14. Morning Sue and crafters all,
Such a pretty card, love the ribbon and cape daisies. Done in such pretty colours.
Pam - keep wrapped up warm and look after your chest!!! Better Ice on the Tees rather than fog!!!!!
June Smith- glad physio is going well and the pain is under control.
Elaine - any reply or admission of bad practice from the NHS is one goal passed. Hope Andrew is happier when he has treatment.
Nanna Tina - here is hoping Mick is feeling brighter.
Peter is still asleep - 2 nights on the bounce he has gone to bed at 10 and is still there now. Eating a little and often what he fancies, finding something nice to drink is his problem!!!!!!
Love and crafty hugs to all

  22. Morning Sue. Life took over blogging for once this morning and I've been itching to see what you have waiting for us and well worth the wait that's for sure. One of your perfect combo's Sue, that splash of black is amazing. These dies are gorgeous I love the effect the lines give to show the background beneath.
Like many of us I always cut the hanging ribbon off my T.shirts etc, you'd have thought at my age I'd have found a way of them not showing and looping them through my bar straps just doesn't work, I have quite a selection of colours and they are just the right width to thread through the edger die 😉 woohoo, I knew I'd be able to do more than struggle for an hour to tie a tiny bow from those tiny ribbons lol.
I'm really looking forward to watching your tutorial, the 2nd video of the day, when I mentioned life came before the blog for once, my first video of the day was from my lovely son in law, of our gorgeous little Lottie finding her feet..... her first steps, that's it now lol neither their sweet little old dog, or the Christmas tree will be safe - at least Sollydog can escape upstairs for a little peace and quiet lol as for the tree ??!!
On that note, I'll thank you for sharing this beautiful card with us, and you deserve my usual hug, whatever your plans for the day hope it's a good one xxx

  24. Lovely card Sue, very elegant. Could you emboss the black card in the ribbon die to make it even more like threaded ribbon? I expect you have done that already. Thank you. Xx

  25. Morning Sue. I love this card. The black certainly makes it pop. I have held out not buying the flower die, arguing I had enough flower dies, I think I have just lost, it looks so good. I will never be rich.

  28. Morning Sue,
What a pretty card today, I love the colours you used, and the flowers are beautiful.
I'm up early this morning as I have to take the kitten to the vet to be parted from his bits! Would you believe that I have to catch a bus at 8:25 to get into town in time to get to the vet at 9:45...and I only live a mile from the town centre!! I'm ready for a fight regarding the price though as I was quoted £39 in an email and yesterday I was told it would be £51!! You all may hear the thunder from my guns when I get there to sort it out - perhaps I should wait until after they do the op though lol.
Of Pam, ice on the river is not a good sign for the winter is it! Before moving to Cornwall the dog and I used to love going out in the frosty mornings and she loved snow. For the last 6 years though I've only had one bad winter, the first I spent down here. We get hail but where I am I have to be very unlucky to even see a thick frost, let alone snow! Just nake sure you keep warm and watch out for slippery pavements.
    Happy Tuesday everyone.

  54. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a pretty card and I love the embossing folder behind the ribbon. Will watch the video later.

Went to physio yesterday for my one to one, he was very pleased indeed with me and said I should now attend 3 sessions of a joint physio class i.e. knees and hip replacements, there would be a group of us all doing exercises and working together so I start that on the 21st. Oh you should have seen me trying to get onto an exercise bike, now I am a very big lady as many of you know and despite lowering the seat as far down as it would go I just could not get my rear end onto the seat, talk about a sight, we did have a laugh though about it and then gave up and did lots of walking exercises.

Sharon have you seen the dr yet??

Bejay, you sort them out at the vet's over the price although I suspect you will have to pay up front.

Tina, too good nights for Peter is so good, and eating what he fancies, not sure what you can tempt him with drink wise but I am sure you will come up with something.

Elaine, so pleased that Andrew got an apology, although this should not have happened in the first place.

Special hugs to Laine, PP, Tracy and family, Cheryl Brown, and my good friend Theresa G, hope you are taking it easy xxx.

Pam how lovely to see the river Tees outside your office window - not the ice floating on it though. Take care and wrap up warm xx

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  61. I thought I could live without the cape daisy. Glad to see the ribbon strip is from the flower border that I already have. Going to have to fund my retirement by making cards. I brought some of my Sue Wilson dies to my stamping group and watched them discover the wonders I had discovered only a few weeks ago. Soon I heard the music from Sue's video on the iPad of our hostess, and she had looked up how to use the star flower cluster. They decided for our next gathering we would all bring our Cuttlebugs and paper and just cut Sue Wilson die cuts until time to go out to dinner. I'm so happy it makes them happy too. I live in the US and work second shift. Every night after work I come home and look at Sue's latest card. Lately instead of worrying about work, I've been designing cards in my head. Did I mention it makes me happy? So glad you guys are all here.
    Love,

Don't think there is a flower die that I don't love, and since they now are more affordable than when they came as two sets (open and closed), I think I own most if not all of them.

    Have a happy day everyone
