Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  I have a bit of a sparkly one for today's card giveaway!  I started with a piece of that now elusive blush card (it has been discontinued) and covered it with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet.  I cut a bunch of Heart sprays in white (maybe eight of them) and placed them all around the edge of the card in random directions.  I pressed them all into place, then trimmed the excess away.  (I was able to use some of the larger pieces to fill in small gaps), then I coated the remaining adhesive areas with Diamond Sprinkles.  I matted it with thin white and black mats.  Next I cut a smaller piece of white card and added a thin black mat.  I cut the Happily Ever After die in Blush card twice and nipped away the inside area.  I offset them and mounted them in the centre of the smaller piece.  I cut one more in black and nipped away the inside and outside ara, leaving a thin circular frame which I glued on to the off set pieces.  I cut several of the sentiment in white and stacked them.  I added one black one as an offset shadow and glued them in the centre of the card.  I completed the card with a white on white pierced mat.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  Leave me a comment to be included in the drawing to win this card!  All for now, Sue x

  2. Beautiful card, gorgeous.
Tina T, so sorry that the diagnosis wasn't better. As you say he has beaten this once and he can do it again. We are all here for you both.
Elaine, how frustrating for Andrew waiting for the call. I laughed at his fish story, is that a typical fishermans tale lol.
Yvonne, I'm a Civil Servant and I work flexi hours so I prefer 7 till 1 daily, and I have the twins in the afternoon while my daughter is at work.
Tracey, I would love to see the pics, how are we going to do this, hmm.
Tina, hope you and Mick are well.
Cheryl Brown, I'm shocked that you are encouraging Yvonne to steal my medals, shame on you lol.
    Hugs all round

  9. Morning Sue. This is a gorgeous card. I know what you mean about the blush card, i bought the last six packs from the craft shop that i go to and asked if she could try and get some more but no such luck it has all gone lol. I bought the happily ever after die when i got the arbour gate, wedding couple and the Mr & Mrs, they are all fantastic dies and cut beautifully. Will have a try at making this one later today.
    Best Wishes.

  12. Good morning Sue and crafters all,
Beautiful card today, love the colours and the way you have done the background.
What a pity the blush card has been discontinued, are CE doing a similar colour of the card. There is no wonder I couldn't get any for a wedding card I am making.
The CT scan my hubby is waiting for has still not happened - scanner broken.
    Take care in the heat!!!!
    Love and crafty hugs,

  13. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another beautiful card today, I must admit I do use a lot of the glitter jewels on my cards, they really do give them that professional look, who needs card shops..............

I am sure there were lots of you who saw our Team GB coming back from Rio with all their medals, the media did them proud as did British Airways, Victorious, and with a gold nose too. Well done to everyone who took part not only in the limelight but also those who work so tirelessly in the background.

Tina T, thinking of you, any news of the scanner being fixed or another hospital doing it?

Laine172, you would be welcome at one of my classes anytime, I am in Chatham, Kent. It started off that I went to a local craft shop and they held classes one evening a week, then they got another warehouse next to the shop and we progressed to having the craft group on a Wednesday morning, unfortunately the lady that used to do it had a few health problems and could not do it anymore, so all the ladies in the craft group asked me to take it over (believe me I was very nervous - but it went swimmingly). This carried on for about 3 years and then the owners decided to downsize so the warehouse had to go, this left us with nowhere to have our craft group, so we looked around and found a local church who rent out a hall to us every Wednesday, I do the instructions each week for the card we are making and the ladies either copy what I have done or do their own take on it, believe me it is amazing what they produce, I am so proud of them. Then I got into Parchment with the Groovi system and we extended the group for another 2 hours to do this, so really you could say I run 2 craft sessions on a Wednesday. If I can do it anyone can, If anyone want's to try it and needs any advice then please let me know.

Anyway that is enough about me, got to get ready soon for craft as I need to go to the local shops before I start there.

Elaine and Andrew, well the little fish got away, never mind, blame it on the weather and try again today.

Tina and Mick hope all is well with you both.

Pam you hold onto them medals...really Cheryl Brown and Yvonne what are we going to do with you, I think you should both sit on the naughty step for a while and no giggling either.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  15. Morning Sue. Oh my goodness those of us that are iced snow and diamond sprinkles +++ addicts can just imagin how much amazing sparkle this background has, it may even out bling the blushing bride lol talking of blush, how pleased am I that I stocked up on a few packs of blush card it was my all time favourite of the pastel shades - I do hope that CE have something similar on the cards (if you pardon the pun at silly O'clock !) I think it's such a brilliant idea to use these leaves as a background on a celebration card such as this the heart's just add that touch of romance, brilliant. It sure will be a lucky person that is chosen to join the W. W. C. (Wednesday Winners Club) for those that have not viewed Sue's blog before today.
Sending my usual hugs to you for today and hope you have an enjoyable day xxx

  34. Lovely card for the giveaway, Sue, particularly like the way you've made the background, it's so dainty - going to give the holly sprays an outing for something similar.
Tracy - you've always deserved a gold medal for bravery - but now an extra one for pixie powders yay !
Tina T - so sorry for your news, hope CT scan soon and treatment can start quickly. We as a family have a horror story re CT breakdown (worst possible outcome) so know the frustration.
Pat L - good wishes for little Sarah, so disappointing for her not to get further treatment here.

Was talking to our Lynda Brock today via iPad. Now I have a face and voice to the name. We blethered for a good hour too. And did a tour of our craft rooms and a view of some cards too.

I would be over the moon to receive this card so if you could draw my name that would be lovely x
Like many others I am puzzled as to why the blush card has been discontinued. It is such a stunning colour and would have thought it would be a really good seller. Oh well, fingers crossed there will be something else that will come along that will satisfy our needs!
Love the background on this card. I adore the heart sprays and this shows their beauty off perfectly. I also love the star sprays and even though you released them along with your Christmas dies I use them all year round. I think that this card could be tweaked to suit so many occasions. Gorgeous, thanks Sue x
Once again the weather has been soooo hot. Too hot for doing anything. Couldn't sleep last night so feeling a little jaded today. I did manage to make a card this morning. I used the hugs die and one of the backgrounds I made the other day with my lava red, sun yellow and rich gold pixie powders. They just make the most stunning focal point and just in case I have not mentioned it - I LOVE THEM.
The card was for a friend of mine whose birthday it is tomorrow. She used to live opposite but moved 4 years ago. When we were neighbours we used to see each other at least 3 times a week. We saw each other through some pretty tough times and although she has only moved 5 minutes away by car we rarely get the chance to catch up in person. I hadn't seen her since May so it was so lovely to spend some time together. She is going through a bit of a tough time at the moment so a good old talk, a few tears and thankfully quite a lot of laughter and we managed to spend about 4 hours together even though it seemed like only 5 minutes.
I am hoping to see her again over the weekend as Jake said he would take me over there and pick me up. I miss her company and her shoulder since she has moved and she definitely needs my shoulder at the moment.
Consequently I am feeling rather drained so will catch up on news tomorrow.
    Lots of love to everyone.
    Happy thoughts
    Crafty hugs

  132. Hello Sue,
Sorry I've been missing for a couple of days but have had a friend staying! She is going home tomorrow so has gone to bed a little earlier tonight in order to be fit to face the M6 tomorrow! I haven't been able to read the other posts either but I will try to catch up tomorrow!
Today's card is really beautiful and I can't understand why that beautiful, soft pink has been discontinued either. I have a fair bit left because I bought a lot when I heard it may be discontinued.
Whoever wins this card will be a very fortunate lady or gentleman!
Lots of love to all - missed you!
