Sparkly Snowflake Card
Hi bloggers! Another really easy and quick Christmas card. One to put on the list if you are making batch cards this year too. I hope you like it!
The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x
Gorgeous card Sue, beautiful. Tina I'm so sorry Mick is having such a horrible time, you must be so worried and trying to manage on your own, this is when you really need decent care help. Gentle hugs for you both. Elaine, tell Andrew I've heard all the fishing tales, my late husband and brother used to fish. I'm glad he is enjoying himself though. Tracey, you and Lynda did have a good session didn't you. There is no way I would let anyone see my craft room, I can hardly get in it. CE brought back the Tied Together emb folder after lots of customer pressure, hopefully they will with the Blush card. Hugs to all, especially Yvonne, wheely, Laine and all who are not well.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I am loving this card, I don't have that die but have ordered it, it is one that can be used every year as well as other occasions.
Tina, sorry to hear that Mick is not too good, you must be out of your mind with worry, where are those carer's and care plan when you need them.
Pat I am sorry that Sarah could not have the operation, but let hope that you can get a 2nd opinion from America, fingers crossed.
Elaine and Andrew, well all I can say is that I hope the fish are biting. the crochet flower sounds lovely.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Lovely card and great video. I've only made 1 Christmas card so far. Am going away in the middle of next week so will really have to get cracking after my hols. D x
Hi Sue. You mention batch making with this card. Now I'm sitting here with my weird sense of humour thinking of all of us sitting at the longest line of tables attempting the UK record for the most batch made Christmas cards lol. Pam at head of table, starting with the sparkle texture paste and mask, onto the star die, etc, how funny that vision is, can you imagin how many cards would be made considering you have over 100 at least leaving a regular comment every day ! What a record breaking batch making session that would be huh ? Well Sue, I will leave you with that vision and send you hugs to go with it. Have a great day xxx
Good morning Sue. Lovely card, I really must get on with my Christmas cards. I had planned to get them all done over the summer holidays but with just over a week left how many have I done? None!!! Tina, I'm sorry that Mick isn't well and that you're still having problems with the carers. Steph, that sounds like a great world record! Hugs to all. Sue xxx
Morning Sue. Thank you so much a beautiful card and a great video. Today it is raining,so a good crafting day, one day I may get back to crafting. Take care all Kitty.
Morning Sue. WOW What a simple card but very elegant and classy. Loving the texture paste and snowflake, another of your christmas dies i bought, in fact i think there was only seven of your last christmas die launch that i didnt buy as i thought this launch was your best one yet lol. Thanks for another of your great videos. Best Wishes. Denise T x
Lovely card, Sue, great silvery colours and fab background. Haven't yet got down and dirty with texture paste! Thanks for the video. Hope Mick is improving, Tina, well wishes and also to Tina T's husband, too. I'm with Pam, Tracy - wouldn't let anyone see my craft room - disaster area! Sounds as though you and Lynda had a grand hour (plus man in pants too as a bonus ha ha.) Only have a PC and basic non-photo mobile phone so think definitely missing out - but no extra time (money or brain room) for more techno stuff anyway, so just as well. Yvonne G - that's what friends are for, your catch up long overdue. Our treasured friends and family so far away, always feeling badly about not seeing them - brought home as a friend died recently and though we talked frequently, rarely met up. Sometimes tomorrow is not good enough. Hugs to all.
Absolutely gorgeous Christmas card! Love the texture paste spots and the snowflake with the added embellishment looks so beautiful. A fabulous card design Sue. Debra x
Good morning Sue and crafters all, Lovely Christmas card today, I have this die but not the mask. Got similar embossing folders so maybe texture paste those.
Regarding my husband Peter, after the scanner fiasco he is in hospital, a Doctor rang yesterday morning to go in ASAP,, he has had a catheter fitted and also a cannula inserted into his kidney via his back this is to relief the pressure on his kidney, nothing done on his prostate as yet!!!!! It was a very long day!! Thanks for the kind messages crafters. Love and crafty hugs Tina T xxxxxx
Good morning Sue What a stunning card! I particularly love the texture paste background. For me today's card is simply elegant! My iPad won't let me watch the video for some reason so will try later. Hugs x Heather T
Hi Sue Beautiful card i really like it , i will watch your video later.
Pam, Andrew says to tell all you lovely ladies that " all his fishing tales are true ones " then he winked at me . Still not had that phone call , i know Hospital staff all do their best but every step seems to be a long time coming and when its your loved one time is very precious .
Tina T , Peter is now being treated so i hope he feels better soon ,sending you both positive thoughts and all good wishes.
Yesss,,,, my crochet flower was lovely ,i am seriously thinking of making more as they would look lovely on my cards .

Hi Sue, a beautiful Christmas card. Lots of seasonal sparkle. Thanks for your video. I will have to play catch up week after next as we are off out again with our touring caravan.
Beautiful card today and very instructional video. Having lunch out with former workmates so will be back in craft room later on to start experimenting.
Gentle healing thoughts, prayers and hugs for all who are ill, in hospital or recovering at home. Great news Tina T that Peter is in hospital getting treatments sorted out. A gurt big un (hug) for him, a gentle one though. A brilliant decision from that doctor. Angels may not come when you call them, but they'll always be there when you need them.
Elaine H, stay strong. I have said a little prayer for you both that you will hear soon.
P in Wales, agree with your statement, 'sometimes tomorrow is not good enough' as by then it can be too late. The worst maxim regarding not visiting/phoning/texting or emailing is 'you could have, you should have, but you didn't'. My stepchildren didn't follow these simple rules regarding my soul's other keeper Pete despite us telling them how much we missed their contact, and then it WAS too late for them, he was gone. A hard lesson to learn.
Hi Sue another beautiful Christmas Card, I don't know how you keep coming up with such beautiful cards. Great informative Video, you always make it look so simple. Wendyx
This has to be one of my favourite dies this year. I love ur card its perfect.

Lynda b, I wasn't going to mention terry in his pants on the blog but as u brought it up.... Lol it was so funny. It's as if he thought I wouldn't see him if he went fast enough past the iPad!! I won't forget our first conversation via iPad for sure it's very memorable. I was telling my hubby about it he was laughing just so he doesn't make the same mistake lol xx
To all who needs caring thoughts an hugs I'm here for u returning the favour as all u lovely people have given to me when I needed it thanks so much

A quick and easy Christmas card? That's for me then!! Must make sure I 'Pin' it so I can find it easily when I get started making my cards this year! :) It's lovely Sue, I'm off to make a cuppa so I can watch the video in comfort. Hugs to all in need today, Paula x (WelshPaula)
Hi Sue I love sparkle and I love your snowflakes. A perfect festive combination to delight us all Not watched the video yet but I am thinking texture paste x I am the owner of 3 tubs of texture paste but have only briefly dabbled. At the moment I only have eyes for my beloved pixie powders and I am presuming that the passion may subside from our torrid affair but at the moment we just can't get enough of each other!! Well can you believe it? Ear!y afternoon and here I am! I am p!eased to say that it is a little cooler today but I am thoroughly drained from 2 days of 33° heat which I did not take pleasure or delight from in the slightest. Activity would be easy and more manageable but I made an executive decision and decided to rest and try and recharge my batteries today and crack on tomorrow as it is going to be a little cooler again. Besides need to have some reserve energy left this evening as I am participating in another chat with Laine. She needs to book her ticket for her visit. It seems like only yesterday when it was just a suggestion and I invited to come and play but it was ages ago. Life is charging forwards at such a pace I struggle to keep up and catch my breath x Tracy - any news on your new arrival? The bottles of sparkly miracle magic dust??!! I want you to take a deep breath, embrace your inner pixie and go all Picasso! Let your wild side go girl. Which co!ours did you order? I did laugh to hear your tale of 'Terry's pants'!! Love that. Hugs x Lynda - can I book an appointment to be entertained by Terry? Who needs Coronation Street. Lol. Hugs x P and Cheryl - life is so short. My view on what is important has changed so much and I do try not to take things for granted quite so much. My other half was only 49 when he died very suddenly and unexpectedly 5 years ago. Such a shock. Once I managed to accept my new normal and move on my perspective on many things altered. Don't save your best clothes for that special occasion. If you want to clean the bathroom in a cocktail dress, go for it. As far as the cleaning is concerned - it isn't that important. It will still be there tomorrow but if I'm not there tomorrow then it won't be my problem so why waste energy worrying. My mum says that there's no point in buying green bananas. These attitudes may seem quite flippant to some but we do not know what tomorrow holds so you really need to take hold of opportunities with passion and go for it. I juyst wish I had the energy to do anything with passion. Lol. And for the record when you clean in a cocktail dress singing at the top of your voice and dancing is compulsory. Hugs x Fluffy - the noise that Laine and I make is bad enough. Hugs x Elaine - you know when Fisher men are lying about their conquests - their lips move! Lol. My son Jake returned on Saturday from a week in France on a fishing holiday. Did not catch a sausage but had a fantastic time - don't get it. BORING! So hope Andrew gets his call very soon. Hugs x Tina T - big hugs to you both x Steph - do you think we would get many cards made? I think the conversation fun and frolics may be too much of a distraction. Hugs x Maria - was feeling rebellious - didn't go on the naughty step. It will be much quieter on the Saturday without Laine. Fingers crossed we can coordinate things better next time. Hugs x Tina - so sorry things are not so good at the moment. Big hugs to you and Mick x Pat - hope there is a more positive outcome from this new surgeon. Hugs x June - I will try and be good. Please don't put me on the naughty step. Besides if I sat down that low for too long I would get stuck. Hugs x Laine - off to meditate so as to mentally prepare for our catch up later. Hugs x Sending lots of love to all absent friends. Take care Happy thoughts Crafty hugs Yvonne x
At first look at today's card, I could not figure out how you got the recessed snowflake in the textured layer. Well, no problem for you Sue. Glad you offered us a video on this technique. I never would have thought to die cut into a textured layer! Sue, you are an amazing woman and crafter and your card is gorgeous.
Good afternoon Sue and all your crafty crew What a wonderful card you have provided us with today it is defiantly one I will be trying out Not watched the video yet will save that treat gif later Hugs to all that need one Love Theresa G xxx

Hello Sue I don't batch make cards but try to match the card to the person so all your different samples are a great help. Elaine it's awful that Andrew still hasn't heard from the hospital. Tina at least your doctor is on the ball though it must have been an horrible time for you worrying about Mike. It has been an miserable day in Crewe with rain most of the day. I agree with everyone you never know what life will throw at you I lost two friends in two weeks recently it makes you see things differently.
Hello Sue, What an elegant card, you really know how to creat stunning cards - each time surprising us with such brilliant creations. Thank you. xxx Love Brenda xxx
Hi Sue and everyone. Yup this is a great card for batch making just one problem, I can't get the paste do what I wan't it to do. Not as bad as gilding flakes but not far off :-) Might have to get some tutorials from Julia one day.

Beautiful card. I especially like the way you have cut the die into the texture pasted card and shown the embossing powder beneath. The Polar White is a great colour isn't it? I have used an awful lot of texture paste this week and this colour and the icicle blue are two of my favourites for Christmas cards.
Hi Sue A lovely card. Thanks for sharing. Steph.....your post made me chuckle! I can just picture this long table, bedecked with all manner of crafty goodies, with Pam at one end and yourself at the other, all the rest of us in between making batch Xmas cards! Genius! Maybe Sue could keep us all supplied with coffee to keep us going! Hugs.

A quick and easy Christmas card? That's for me then!! Must make sure I 'Pin' it so I can find it easily when I get started making my cards this year! :) It's lovely Sue, I'm off to make a cuppa so I can watch the video in comfort.
ReplyDeleteHugs to all in need today,

A really lovely card to come back home to (having had a couple of weeks in Tuscany). Relatively quick and easy too.

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteI love sparkle and I love your snowflakes. A perfect festive combination to delight us all Not watched the video yet but I am thinking texture paste x
I am the owner of 3 tubs of texture paste but have only briefly dabbled.
Life is charging forwards at such a pace I struggle to keep up and catch my breath x
Tracy - any news on your new arrival? The bottles of sparkly miracle magic dust??!! I want you to take a deep breath, embrace your inner pixie and go all Picasso! Let your wild side go girl. Which co!ours did you order? I did laugh to hear your tale of 'Terry's pants'!! Love that. Hugs x
Lynda - can I book an appointment to be entertained by Terry? Who needs Coronation Street. Lol. Hugs x
P and Cheryl - life is so short. Hugs x
Fluffy - the noise that Laine and I make is bad enough. Hugs x
Elaine - you know when Fisher men are lying about their conquests - their lips move! Lol. My son Jake returned on Saturday from a week in France on a fishing holiday. Did not catch a sausage but had a fantastic time - don't get it. BORING! So hope Andrew gets his call very soon. Hugs x
Tina T - big hugs to you both x
Steph - do you think we would get many cards made? I think the conversation fun and frolics may be too much of a distraction. Hugs x
Maria - was feeling rebellious - didn't go on the naughty step. It will be much quieter on the Saturday without Laine. Fingers crossed we can coordinate things better next time. Hugs x
Tina - so sorry things are not so good at the moment. Big hugs to you and Mick x
Pat - hope there is a more positive outcome from this new surgeon. Hugs x
June - I will try and be good. Please don't put me on the naughty step. Besides if I sat down that low for too long I would get stuck. Hugs x
Laine - off to meditate so as to mentally prepare for our catch up later. Hugs x
Sending lots of love to all absent friends.
Take care
Happy thoughts

At first look at today's card, I could not figure out how you got the recessed snowflake in the textured layer. Well, no problem for you Sue. Glad you offered us a video on this technique. I never would have thought to die cut into a textured layer! Sue, you are an amazing woman and crafter and your card is gorgeous.

Beautiful sparkly card.
ReplyDeleteVery contemporary looking but I love it.xx
ReplyDeleteHello Sue
ReplyDeleteI don't batch make cards but try to match the card to the person so all your different samples are a great help. Elaine it's awful that Andrew still hasn't heard from the hospital. Tina at least your doctor is on the ball though it must have been an horrible time for you worrying about Mike. It has been an miserable day in Crewe with rain most of the day. I agree with everyone you never know what life will throw at you I lost two friends in two weeks recently it makes you see things differently.

gilding flakes but not far off :-) Might have to get some
tutorials from Julia one day.
Yvonne- we will survive, next time x
Lynda- lucky I'm not the jealous type :-) Lovely you had a long
talk with Tracy. You very brave showing your craft rooms to
eachother. Sending you both some hugs x
Have not slept for three days so feeling zombie like and the hot
and now very muggy weather do not help so I'm
Sending special hugs to all who are in pain, ill or having
an operation and to all carers.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I especially like the way you have cut the die into the texture pasted card and shown the embossing powder beneath. The Polar White is a great colour isn't it? I have used an awful lot of texture paste this week and this colour and the icicle blue are two of my favourites for Christmas cards.
ReplyDeleteTeresa
Hi Sue

Steph.....your post made me chuckle! I can just picture this long table, bedecked with all manner of crafty goodies, with Pam at one end and yourself at the other, all the rest of us in between making batch Xmas cards! Genius! Maybe Sue could keep us all supplied with coffee to keep us going!
Hugs.
