You're Wonderful

Good Sunday Morning all!  How about some nice vibrant poppies to wake up to on a Sunday morning!  I started by creating a white on white background and cutting the Swiss Border four times into a piece of coconut white card.  Two facing each other at the top of the card and two facing each other at the bottom of the card.  I backed it with white card for a tonal look.  I wrapped a length of red frilly edged ribbon around the card and taped the ends to the back.  Next I stamped the Poppies Daydream Stamp To Die For in black on white card.  I used a combination of Distress markers and coloured pencils to colour it.  I cut it out with the large oval die from the Geneva set and mounted foam on to the back.  I attached it atop of the ribbon in the centre of the card.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the smaller die in the Swiss Tag and seated it on the decorative Swiss tag die.  I added it to the upper area of my stamped image with foam.  Finally, I tied a double bow and added two matching stick pins and a white crystal sparkler to match.  I completed the card with a pierced mat, a thin red and black mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.

Beautiful designed card today. I did hear you mention on the Hochanda show that poppies in California are all orange. So the flowers here could be coloured red, orange or even blue for a different look.

I really must invest in some of these stamps, they give just the right amount of floral element to either really bling up or keep soft and gentle for those difficult cards we sometimes find ourselves making. I must check out my little craft shop next time I can get up there, if not, get a couple on order. It really is a lovely idea to combine stamp and die together and you sure have the nack to persuade us to go out and get em lol, especially when you inspire us like you have today

Many congratulations to our three ladies today, enjoy playing with your gift xx
I will send you my usual hugs for the day Sue and hope it's a good one for you xxx

What a gorgeous card today, yet again showcasing one of your many beautiful stamps. The mainly white card with a pop of colour like this is always a winner. It's gorgeous, thanks for sharing x
Congratulations to the winners of this weeks comment game. Yes Laine even you x
Well I didn't make the blog yesterday but that was not due to my feeling under the weather. A friend invited me round to watch the tennis. She came and picked me up and was going to bring me home early evening. Those good intentions of her being my taxi went out of the window after she opened her second bottle of wine. By 7 o clock she could hardly stand up let alone walk in a straight line so thought it best to wait for hubby to get in from work so he could drop me back home. Unfortunately he had been called out on a job which took far longer than expected so I didn't get home until almost midnight. It was a love!y afternoon/evening but I did feel knackered when I got in x
So did you watch today's final? My neighbour and my next door but one neighbour came over and we watched it together whilst lunching. Very civilised especially as lunch included large amounts of British strawberries, a bucket load of whipped cream and loads of homemade mini meringues. Another good afternoon and thank goodness finishing at a more civilised hour than yesterdays proceedings x
There is a bit of a theme for when folks visit - there is usually food and there is usually lots of it - be warned Laine x
Theresa - well done for winning the card this week x
Tracy - don't know if you are popping in at the moment but want you to know that you are in my thoughts. I am sending you and your sister lots of love x
Elaine - healing hugs coming your way x
Tina - love and hugs to you and Mick x
P - I'm not jealous. The knowledge that I am number one is good enough for me. I don't need prizes to reiterate the fact that I am and always will be the favourite Wilsonette. Sue and I are unanimous in our decision that she needs to play things down so that people don't get too twitchy. So in response to you little dig - top spot is still mine x
Pat - don't you start!!! I will never be overtaken - and Laine will not even get close!!! I'm glad that Sarah (and travelling companion's) enjoyed their well needed break away x
Fluffycat - you got it - smug - sums Laine up. Lol. Let her enjoy it, we know the truth x
Maria, Maria, Maria - what are you saying? Calling Laine your friend just because you want something from her - shame on you. Lol x
Laine - hope you're ok. Not on here so far so hoping the excitement of watching Andy has not worn you out too much. I am so pleased that Sue took my advice and let you win something - I just wanted you to get that warm feeling of being included so that you could get a sense of how I feel all the time. I know it must be quite a novel experience!! Lol. Take care hun - speak soon x
Signing off now folks. After my wild and raucous partying over this weekend I need an early night.
Take care everyone as we enter the countdown to our next helping of Sue - only 6 more sleeps x
Sending love to absent friends - Wheely - hope you are ok x and Lorraine - huggles x
Love and happy thoughts to everyone
    Crafty hugs
