Sunday 20 March 2016

Thanks

Good Sunday morning all!  This one will wake you up with the brightness to it, won't it!  I cut a piece of coconut white card on the diagonal with a larger and smaller area to them.  I embossed the larger part using the Rambling Blossoms embossing folder.  I taped the card back together and matted it with Iris card.  Across the cut line, I added five of the Bearded Pansies in two sizes to create a diagonal border for my card.  I cut the decorative piece in white card, colouring in the emboss areas with yellow and purple and adding in a few fine eyelash lines for detail.  I added an Iris card backing by cutting just the outline die.  I inked a piece of white card with Crushed Olive Distress ink and cut a bunch of the leaves in two sizes.  I inked through the die with Forest Moss distress ink to create the veining and tucked them around the pansies as accents.  For the focal element, I cut the Zoe die in white and backed it with Iris card, then cut the centre out to create a frame.  I stamped my sentiment and seated the frame over it and trimmed away the excess card.  I adhered it to the top of the card.  The card was completed with my usual piercing and layering.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.

  13. Oh do love pansies - such a bright and happy card, Sue. Like that you have left that small area un-embossed at the bottom, sometimes more can be too much and I'm guilty of that! Too often.
Well done to the comment winners, all our 'regulars', and the original Wilsonette, Clare W!
Great to say it's not raining - again - and our mud is fast disappearing.

  118. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a cheerful offering for a bright sunny springlike day- just love the pansies, they are so vibrant, like little smiley faces of fun! I really like the effect of the partial embossing, it's a nice change from the norm.
Hope you are having a lovely Sunday Sue, so looking forward to your shows, not long to go now....I'll be a quivering wreck by the end of the week but it's so hard not to buy craft goodies until your appearances, I keep getting tempted. I've bought some new stamps....for colouring when I'm good enough, if ever!......a new lap tray with light.....for colouring on.....metallic bakers twine and mica powders...papers, glues, foam pads.....two dies.....colouring book and watercolour paper....so much for saving my pennies!
What's this I hear about a new die release!??!? How exciting, but please wait until after your tv appearance so that I can catch up with your last selection:-) I'm running out of storage space, I'll need an extension on my craftroom....perhaps I could just get rid of the bed in the spare room and put any overspill in there, mmmm! Some people would say "surely you don't need any more dies or stash if you haven't got the room to fit it." Well, I would say nonsense to that, like shoes you can never have too much craft goodies, some to use and the rest to stroke and admire:-)
Theresa, thinking of you and your family honeyxxx
Congrats to the six lucky winners of the comment game, enjoy your prizexxxx
Yvonne, hope you arrived safely and that the weather is as glorious where you are, miss youxxxx
Wheely Bad, hope you're feeling okay and not plagued by another migraine:-( hugs to Billyxxx
Cuddles to Maria, Pam, P, Linda, Beth, Lorraine, Rebecca, Tracy and anyone needing a bear hugxxx
My nerves were shattered today, the sun was shining and Brodie wanted to go a walk, so what did my Mum do?.....she decided to open the door and just let him go!??! The look on his face was a picture but I was having kittens of my own waiting for him to come home again. Darcey got up and was looking out of the window when Brodie ran past....is it possible for a cat to frown and look disapprovingly because the glare I got sent a shiver down my spine. Like a good girl, she went out to follow him and keep him safe but it took a good hour or more before he returned to massive cuddles and kisses. Tragedy averted thankfully but I don't want to make a regular occasion of it.
    Have a lovely evening everyone

Congratulations to all this week's winners.
Heartfelt condolences to Teresa W and family, such sad news.
Don't quite know how I have missed so many blog days. We went out yesterday ( must remember to take scooter on trips out!) so that tired me out. Today has been spent recovering and all was going well until I took a chicken out of the freezer. That started my costochondritis off and straight away I lost my voice because my chest shut down. It's so painful and at one point I was having trouble swallowing because it affected my throat too. Taking extra pain killers but they don't do a lot.
    Sorry for rambling.
    Love n hugs

  122. Hi Sue. WoW !!! I love today's pretty card !!! The Bearded Pansies look fantastic !!! I love how you have coloured them in. The colours you have used and the way in which you have shaded them makes these Pansies look so real. Great background EF. I have this one and use it often. I love it. The Zoe die looks very pretty. I do love the design of this die set. (Another die on my wish list !!!) Thankyou Sue for sharing another beautiful card. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x
