GM Sue. Don't think I've seen such a small card on your blog but I do love it. I am getting into smaller shaped cards as they look unusual and so eye catching. More please! Happy weekend.

Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteA quaint pretty pint size card today. I remember making a die-shaped card with your very first noble die collection which I then turned into a card on a card, I decorated an 8x8 with an embossed piece of card and mounted the die-shaped card on top so I had a card on a card lol. So yet again the versatility of your dies has no bounds.
Off to get my orange blossom and leaf stamps this morning if it's not too cold as I've been asked for a 'normal' wedding card for once instead of the usual 'wacky'order I seem to get there days lol - I've never added a stethoscope to a wedding card before until now, but this is what they wanted for an aneathatist that is getting married next Sunday !! Hohum.
Have a good day Sue xx

Good morning Sue. Thank you for the great tutorial and for showing us a wonderful idea for a stunning smaller card, its beautiful. I love the effect that the shadowing creates, as you say, it really makes the design pop.x
ReplyDeleteAn unusual size of card for you Sue but just as beautiful as your larger cards. Gorgeous, a great idea with the die for something different for posting. Thank you. Xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. Love the small size 'for a change' but I don't do many small cards either. You could easily make it larger by matting it on a larger piece of cards.
ReplyDeleteWell done Arwen for winning the card.

Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card today, I love that you can use the dies to make unusual and pretty cards.
I'm trying to be good at the moment and use the dies I have but you keep tempting me to buy more dies. How does the saying go resistance is futile lol. Seriously though I promised myself I would use all of the die sets I have bought over the last year (and I have almost 100 of your die sets now) trouble is you keep designing more and more beautiful dies and stamps and embossing folders ....... Oh well I am a crafter and need more stash lol.
Congratulations to the winner
Have a lovely day

This card just goes to prove that a small card can be just as beautiful as a large one. This is truly gorgeous. The principle could be applied for the multitude of Christmas cards that need to be sent out at the lowest postage. I think another purchase is order...... rats and I have to pay up for a cruise next week and the money pot will be empty for a while. Ah well, the joys of the credit card!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Sue.

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteWow this is small for you.
Beautiful card, great to have ideas for smaller cards as postage is so high.
Normally all my cards are about 6 x 6.
Would love to see more ideas for smaller cards too.
Congratulations to Arwen.

Morning, Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat delightful 'baby' card. It's just adorable and half the size of your usual ones! I love it. I feel I need to go and sort through my dies to see if I have any that would work in the same way :)
Amaryllis watch...the tallest flower stem seems to have stopped shooting towards the ceiling and the second one is quickly catching up. The bud is still upright, however, if you look at it, it now looks like the back of Batman's head, with the little ears sticking up...yes, folks, it's beginning to split open. Fingers crossed I should be able to let you all know just what colour it is in a few days...exciting isn't it lol.
Bejay xx
Hi Sue. Beautiful card, love the shape. Congratulations to Arwen. Have a lovely day. Hugs to all xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, how unusual to see an actual card! I love the shadow effect that you do and have tried it myself although it never looks as good. I have a feeling that I don't leave enough of an overlap. Hopefully you will have one on display at Ally Pally so I can have a closer look.
ReplyDeleteLisbeth

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous dainty little card I absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteA lovely little beauty love it

Wendy xx
I had to chuckle to myself when you cautioned about throwing away dies by accident.... been there, done that... love shaped cards. My fav sizes range from 5" squares to 6" squares... easier for making envelopes, too, or finding ready made ones.
ReplyDeleteYour card today is so stunning.... so feminine. BTW, how on earth do you keep your nails so perfect? Mine suffer terribly when I craft, especially when using lots of inks.
TIP... in the course of my hubby's surgery and because he's sensitive to latex surgical tapes, I discovered paper tape that's perfect for securing dies onto your cutting plates. It's dirt cheap... so much less than brand named temp tapes...I found a generic brand at Walmart, two roll package for about $3.00...will last me a long time.... more $$$ for buying dies. LOL
Thanks for another great video...
Jan D., Florida, USA
Hi Sue. WOW, WOW. WOW !!! This card is soooo cute !!! I really love it. This die set is still on my huge wish list and is now getting very close to the top of it !!! I think it is such a pretty die set. I love how you have made a smaller size card using the outter shape of the die. Your shadow effects with the dies look great and those cute little glittery flowers are beautiful !!! It is so nice to see some of your older die sets being used alongside the new sets. I really hope you will bring us more of these sort of cards showing how old and new die sets can work together. Thank you for sharing such a pretty card today.
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of love and hugs to you Sue from Tres x x x
Sending love to everyone from Tres x x x
Wow, I really do love this creation, I must admit I have never actually done this, should give it a try.....those little glittery flowers just finish off a superb card...luv Ursula xx

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteA lovely card today. And yes I think this is the smallest card I've seen you do. I love small cards.
Hi Sue - I have just watched the video and I absolutely adore this card! I tend to do small cards, so this is perfect for me. I have got the Grace die set and also the 'Wishing you brighter days' set, so I shall just have to substitute some others for the remainder. That won't be a problem, as I am something of a collector of your dies! Thank you, hugs Gilly x
ReplyDeleteLovely, dainty card today Sue, love the smaller size, very feminine. More please!

Hi Sue, So cute! I love this card and the detailing on all the dies you have used. The flowers are just the perfect 'finishing touch'. You have reminded me that this is how I used to make shaped cards before 8" x 8" squares took over my life and that I should seriously try making them again.
ReplyDeleteJess - Congratulations to you and Mr W on your Golden Wedding Anniversary.

ReplyDeleteEvening Sue, what a gorgeous little card but I would be tempted to stick it on a 8 by 8. LOL, great video, hugs Johanna
ReplyDeleteGood evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteWhat a dainty little delight and such a pleasant departure from your normal cards. It will really appeal to those who prefer to create smaller cards and proves that your dies can be adapted to suit anyone's taste or budget. It has given me plenty of ideas for adapting other die shapes to this theme but I must admit that I , like you, prefer to work on a grander scale despite the postage costs.
How refreshing to see one of your older dies from the Italian Collection, I love it when you mix up your older releases with your newer dies- many other brands would avoid this simply because they are only interested in pushing forward newer products and the hard sell, but you have integrity and want to see all of your collections used,, that I respect and appreciate.
Can I just say that you and your products have revolutionised my crafting and for that I will be eternally appreciativexxxxx
Apologies for my rude absence yesterday, I had a rather challenging day attending my first appointment with a psychologist to work through my grief over my Dads death so I felt quite drained mentally afterwards. Woke up with a migraine this morning which is probably a hangover of sorts from the therapy session:-), I wouldn't have minded so much if I'd had a drink or three! So I eased myself into the day and decided to have some quality me time watching a DVD of Spectrum Noir tutorials....I'm really serious about learning to colour properly because I think the effect of stamped images with some of Sues dies would be stunning. I don't have difficulty with the techniques when shown, it's having to contend with over 170 colours and working out what colours blend with each other and complement one another....I get a little confused with warm and cool tones of the same colour:-( maybe I should stop being so anal and just have a play and enjoy myself:-)
Jess, congrats on reaching such an impressive milestone!
Tracy, your bathroom sounds lush and worth all that mess and disruption, enjoy it when it's finished....
Theresa, how incredibly sad, I'm so so sorry for your loss- losing anyone dear is difficult at the best of times but losing a child is that much harder to bear. I hope you find the strength as a family unit to get through this dreadful time. Hugsxxxx
Yvonne, enjoy your break away with the boys, hope the trip isn't too exhausting for you and that you can get a broadband connectionxxxx
Hugs to Pam, P, Linda, Beth, Rebecca, Deb c, Maria, Lorraine, Wheely bad and anyone in need of a cuddle, there's plenty to sparexxx

Beautiful card as ever :). Love your work Sue.
ReplyDeleteBecky Ferguson
Small but stunning. Lovely to see a shaped card. Anyone would think you designed the die with the idea for this card in mind! The sugaring on the flowers is gorgeous. I usually make 5 x 7 inch cards but think I'll have to look through my dies to see if there are any I can use like this.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Arwen on winning Wednesday's card. I'm envious.
Congratulations to Jess W. and Mr.W. on your Golden Wedding Anniversary. Hope you had a lovely day.
Theresa W., condolences to you and your family on the loss of your young nephew. Life can be so unfair.
Take care everyone.
Hi All
ReplyDeleteThis is again an absolute gem for me - so pretty and so easy to do if you have the wonderful dies!
I'm doing a happy dance I won a card!!!!
Hi again to all the lovely ladies who come on here with varying degrees of regularity.
ReplyDeleteI for one do not always have the greatest internet - it keeps getting flooded or various other things happen to it.
So this morning I'm catching up on everyones news and views about the cards Sue has made and posted. The videos that no doubt cost a fortune to make not to mention the time it takes to travel to and from the studios where they're made. The astronomical amount of prep that goes into making all of these cards and well just all of it. I don't know how she does it and remains such a caring, kind and generous spirit.
I speak from personal experience - I have had a really difficult time over the last couple of years - and Sue and this blog and her videos gave me strength and courage when I was really scared. She did not do it for any reason other than that she is such a lovely human being.
So I'm usually a mind my own business type of person - but given that all she does for all her girls, perhaps the blog is not the place to air your feelings about each other?
I'm sure that for just a few minutes of each day that we spend here we can be kind to one another.
I really hope that this comment doesn't go awry - it isn't a criticism - just a comment - made from reading all the others during my lovely catch up time.
This is a place we can come to be in touch with others who enjoy the wonderful world of crafting!
Love to all!!!
Hi Sue and all the other crafty people ......
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful card, and in a smaller size too. I must have a go at something similar.
Thank you for the video too, I always keep your videos, so I can refer back to them.
Congratulations to Arwen on your win.
Have a lovely crafty Sunday.
