Just For You

Hi all!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I have another card to share which uses some of the papers from my Classic Elegance paper pad.  I selected one of the soft blue coloured pages and used the Australian Corner die without the cutting edge to cut detail into each of the corners of my paper.  I matted it with white to show through.  I cut a slightly larger piece of white card and cut four more of the same Australian Corners out of white, but this time used the outer cutting edge so they could be glued in place on to the white card.  I placed my blue square on a diamond orientation in the middle of it.  Next I cut a smaller square of decorative paper, matted it in white then added it to the centre of the card with pearls in each corner.  I used the Melbourne die to cut a white on white frame and stamped my sentiment in black on to the opposite side of the decorative paper.  I mounted the frame over the sentiment, then used the two circles from the set to cut a circular frame out of the decorative paper. I glued it to the edge of the Melbourne frame.  I used the smallest die in the Sweetheart flower set to create a small flower out of the decorative paper as well.  I glued it to the edge of the frame and added small white pearls to the frame as well.  The card was completed with a white pierced mat and another white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  43. Hi Sue & Wilsonettes*** you always strive to bring us something different Sue & today’s exquisite beauty of lovability is no exception. Compared to your customary sized card this is a petite but albeit very charming & very pretty card indeed. The ‘pint-size’ does nothing whatsoever to lessen the talented criteria of features from your usual cards that we have come to know & love, in fact quite the opposite as it wholeheartedly proclaims an immense measure of adorable features & quality. So very diverse from your familiar Sue but equally gratefully received as always x x x x x

The above comment was written for Saturdays Post but alas, & my sincerest apologies Sue, I did not get any further as our beautiful LAUREN had had a seizure late Friday night, she had just come in from the garden (she went straight out for wee & came straight back in) when she suddenly went down on her side, legs were stretched out on the floor & thoroughly stiffened (with arthritis in back leg it would have been extremely painful for her) then her head tilted back & her eyes rolled back showing a lot of white & she had a wee accident.

After what seemed like a lifetime, (30 or more secs) she came out of it but lay there cuddling into me for ages before she managed to get up & wobbled onto her bed. I wasn’t sure if it was a seizure or a stroke because there wasn’t the typical paddling with legs as though running or swimming. Well I made sure she was warm enough & getting small amounts of water. Needless to say we didn’t get much sleep that night.

Anyways as I was writing for Saturday’s blog poor Lauren kept vomiting this really deep, deep yellow stuff with flecks of blood present. We had intended to get her to the vets but now it was more urgent.

The vets were really great, straight away they put us into a quiet room as waiting area was already full & noisy then vet examined her & confirmed she had had a seizure as they can have episodes of stiffening rather than paddling, it was the first one we had witnessed but couldn’t say if she had had any previous episodes due to our work, shopping & sleeping etc but considering the post seizure effects he reckoned this was the first one. He gave her an injection to stop the vomiting as it was every 3-4 mins & blood tests confirmed that it was more than likely associated to her poorly liver, which she’s had blood tests for on a regular basis to keep an eye on. He’s loathe to give her any seizure meds as these will damage liver further so if they continue, especially within the next 6 weeks, he will give her Diazepam, I want what’s best for her but not sure I want my beautiful 4 paws spaced out or not with it on them. He says we have to take it from day to day & apparently the vomiting etc was what he called a post seizure effect.

Lauren hadn’t come out of it very well all weekend & had to be helped & kept an eye on, but eventually this morning she stood up from lay position by herself, has drunk water herself & has given me a lot of kisses which I have truly missed, her eyes are brighter & she hadn’t eaten since Friday tea time but was very keen for her brekky this morning & ate it all up.

I have a work related training course today but with Mr B here I know I can leave Lauren in capable hands, hope I don’t go collecting a zzzzzzzz’s while I’m there though*Lol x

Beth, how horrible for you to witness poor Lauren's episode. It must have been extremely traumatic for you and of course Lauren. I'm so pleased that she seems to be getting back to herself this morning - bet you've missed the " kisses" . Sending you hugs and Lauren big gentle cuddles. I've just had Scamp to vets and good news is that she might be able to come out of the cage on Thursday if the X-rays show that the fracture has healed, so that will be brilliant - I hate to see her in the cage. There is a possibility that her tail was broken as it seems to have a kink in it now and she can't straighten it but that's a small price to pay when I think of what could've happened. Xx
Tracy, hope radiotherapy goes well tomorrow and that today's meeting went well xxx.

  130. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Your creations using your new papers have been spectacular, I'm sure the pads must be flying off the shelves as a result. The patterns are so delicate and unobtrusive whilst the colours are beautifully soft. I don't often use patterned paper anymore but you have definitely opened my eyes to the benefits. I love what you have done with the corners and the overall feel is quite masculine and geometric, great inspiration, great card Suexxxx
Beth, oh my gosh, my heart flipped when I was reading about dear little Lauren, there is nothing on this earth worse than watching helplessly as your baby suffers, you must be beside yourself with worry:-( As our babies get older we come to expect/fear the worst and every moment becomes precious, but nothing can compare you for the reality. Your worries about her quality of life are justified, a life doped up on medication isn't what we would want for our little ones but fingers crossed she will thrive and have no more episodes. How heartening that she's eating again and seems more like her old self, let's hope it continues:-) my thoughts are with you honeyxxxx
Alison, on the plus side how fantastic that Scamp is thriving, she has been so good and patient with the cage it will be wonderful when she finally gets her freedom:-) What a shame about her tail though the poor wee soul, she really had a bad fall and lucky escape....it's a good job our feline friends have nine lives, they certainly need them:-)
Tracy, hope your radiotherapy went as well as can be expected and that the after effects are minimal. You have met this challenge with extreme bravery and resilience, you should be very proud of yourselfxxxx
Huge hugs to Yvonne, jan, Rebecca, Maria, Theresa,Linda,Lorraine,Pam, P and Deb c plus cuddles to those ill, down, bereaved or struggling in any way.xxxx
Not long now Sue for the new release and Hochanda, yipeeee!:-)

    Love and crafty hugs
